  6. Memory of Charlie still burn a little????
  7. If that is a early 85 it could have the weak tranny. I have the VIN # somewhere that the ones after it were suposed to be fixed but can't find it right now. Someone may have it but they were supposed to fix the problem during the 85 year. I think any of the transmissions from 83 to 93 were interchangable. And can be had for lot less or you could undercut gears on yours and fix it.
  8. I use Castrol 20/50 but just use a good oil and change it often.
  9. There is a fair pic in the thread The World Famous "BLUE BEAST"
  10. No rev limiter I can find on the 83s or 84s. Thanks JT my Avatar is one of the old girl. Skid has some tucked away I think I'll see what I can find.

  13. "BLUE Beast" had 98,700 miles on her and when she left left everyone knew it. Redline was home to her and the longer she stayed there the better she ran.
  14. Don if it is not repairable I have a dead one that I need to remove from the Blue Beast. Had almost forgotton it. It started cutting out bad and I grabbed one from E-Bay and put it on top of air-box couple years ago. When I hooked the old one up later it wouldn't fire at all.
  15. Had large Shepard few years ago that would chase me every evening on way home from work on one lane back road. He tore up a few pair of jeans and owner thought it was funny. Wore 16 inch Line boots at the time so he didn't do much else. Caught him just right one evening and placed boot under his chin as I was going lot faster than usual trying to miss him. He was still lying in ditch next time I went by there. Owner never said a word.
  16. Don't know if you can get that thing or not. I would try to make something fit over it maybe glue it back togather?
  17. Too much fluid in rear Master. Bleed some out you should be OK
  18. What Buddy said. first guess would be dirty caliper. Not hard to fix.
  19. Open carb drains and make sure you are getting fuel.
  20. Sorry but sounds like TCI but with good fresh plugs it should start if you are getting spark to two cylinders.
  21. Now that could get a few comments. But I won't say Nothing...:stirthepot:
  22. NGKs work great.
  23. Good plan if it works. Make money quick.
  24. Fuel filter on top of swingarm at front of rear tire on right side. Hard to get to. Best done when tire is off.
  25. Wonder how much weight those outside wheels carry. My rear tire mileage is bad enough now. I can see Burn-Outs with that thing.....
