  1. Good luck with it. A lot of cracks in these things are easy fixes.
  2. Jeff advised me to take them loose at the slider also. I've been doing it at the carbs. Always got to do things the hard way! Still learning...
  3. My Wife's "things to get list" has a New venture right on top of it!! and I'm avoiding her!!!
  4. Had these off couple times and didn't go back this hard. Fought the cables about 4 hrs this time. Thought it was supposed to get easier each time? That inside one just didn't want to go and my fingers just don't want to fit in there!!
  5. Had that idea for my 750. Haven't got to it yet. Really looks good!!
  6. How much Plastex to cover that thing 1/8 inch thick? And to work in cracks good to create good bond.
  7. Put me on there. Can I ride a 750 and wear a Venture shirt:think: XL I think.
  8. Got it!! Need to find Bigger Hammer!!!
  9. Ouch!! I got some thoughts. Need to look at something to reinforce it like road sign, and cut piece to fit and pour fiberglass over it to bond with trunk floor?? Wouldn't do that again.
  10. Got the carbs back on my bike and have a little line-up question. pushing down on 1 and 4 they sit solid. Pushing on 2 and three I can rock them almost 1/4 inch. Never noticed this before. Am I just looking for more problems on this thing or is this acceptable? Can't see anything in the way. These things are a bear for me hooking up cables. Really don't want to pull them again.
  11. ENJOY!! Good looking scoot!!
  12. I have rebuilt some smaller pieces with ABS glue. The fiberglass patches I've seen might be the way to go if you could layer it on the inside good.
  13. Yep, I was expecting a little more. But that bill sure is on time!!
  14. CONGRATS!! Ain't no stopping them now..
  15. Can't be all bad!!
  16. Last post was Warden. I take no credit for this. I just sat and watched another 1st Gen go off without bidding. I'll be 2nd guessing myself til the next one comes along.
  17. As everybody knows that this type of trojan or whatever it is won't let you download anything. But I was just playiong around on here and I went to my hotmail account on IE and I clicked on options and at the top it has ONE CARE download it for the free temp version and it started scanning as soon as I downloaded it and it found 6 trojans. And it fixed the problem I am disapointed tho I wanted a clean install.
  18. Makes you think a little don't it???
  19. Just missed the boat somewhere. I couldn't even find the water.
  20. I think that IS the plan!!
  21. I got some bikes that need to be Planted. Maybe I could grow something!!!
  22. At least now it is OFFICIAL!!!
  23. Fix was simple when she found it. Downloaded Windows Live One Care. She will add more later. After 1st Gen gets sniped again!!
  24. Computer purring like a 1st Gen. And just in time to check that one going off on E-Bay!!! And they said it couldn't be done!!! Girl continues to Amaze me. I guess it is like a dead bike you try this and that til something clicks. I just don't know what to try. Oh, she just told me it is not purring as good as a 1st Gen. NOTHING DOES!!!!!
  25. George, perhaps your right buddy, I was really liking it down a Maintenance day and I had missed a couple of the '02's that I was looking for and said to heck with it and pulled the trigger. More than I wanted to spend at this time, but the '86 wasn't where I wanted it to be as far as reliability and its time to ride....not fix. Now we get to see them comparing chrome everytime we get togather:stirthepot: And it is time to ride not fix. Thats why I'm looking at that 1st Gen going off in a couple hrs. And within riding distance.
