    In the early 70's I rode to Daytona on a Hardtail only stopping for gas. About 700+ a little I think. Details of that trip are a little fuzzy.

    I sat in the Vetran's Clinic not long ago and looked around the room at the collection of old geezers in there. But I had a though. How much this room had already given .But given a chance how much more could they give?? That would be the wrong room for a Ben Laden supporter to open his mouth!! FORGIVE or FORGET--- HELL NO!!

    Now that is a man that is thinking!! I have to start "ugly" often cause the carbs will gunk up on these bikes if you don't. And just leaving it sit in the drive running don't make sense. May as well ride a little if it has to be running.

    Another reason I'll stick with the 1st Gens. Have to do them yourself. Can charge yourself what you want.

    Guess I didn't know how good I got it. It is a big chunk of the retirement check. My place didn't advise me of my options like they were supposed to. With last couple of years insurance may not want me but I think they have to let me keep it.

    I can understand replacing (1) shift segment - 4NK-18185-00-00 but is it necesary to replace pins if they don't look worn or bent?

    I think this parts list should be in our Tech Library. I probally won't mess with mine til 2nd gear time. Not that far away but having parts list of what you need to replace then would be nice.

    Sounds like I have some checking to do. My retirement is medical with the leg. Sailed thru Social security without a glitch. My State retirement (worked for state) is dragging their feet but don't see any problems with it they are just slow. I get out of the ratrace a couple yrs early if I can take care of the medical. Hate to retire and have to go back to work.

    I've been paying 120 a month for a long time with the company picking up the rest. Didn't relize how good I had it.

    I know. I said that word but need some advice on this. If I retire I get a Medicaid Card or whatever it is from Social Security. Problem is Warden is 12 yrs younger than I am. It is going to cost me $537.00 a month to keep my health Insurance. It is very good insurance. I have to keep it on me and her to be able to keep it into retirement. I just need to cover her. Does this sound as high as I think it does?? I know people are paying a lot more I just don't have any idea how to shop for something like this. Getting rid of the Warden is NOT A OPTION!!!

    Yeah sounds like a good thing for the early 1st Gens. Whats the price of those parts couldn't be that much. Now if it would just cure 2nd gear.
