  1. Yeah I get a few comments on my 25 yr old 1st Gen. When they can catch me!!!
  2. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that: Being a part of this group will change your way of thinking.. I've even offered to help a few people the last few years..... must be getting old??
  3. Good looking bike!! I think they do have some switch problems but as a Faster 1st Gen rider I wouldn't know....... WELCOME!!! Glad to see you here. Good luck with the "New" Ride!!
  4. I would think so if you get good gravity flow. If it starves there are small pumps that would be easy to hide in there somewhere.
  5. You are on a 2nd Gen!! It was just your reflection in the mirrow outrunning you!!!:stirthepot:
  6. No Show. Now I'm hoping he won't. Got things to do and can't sit around waiting on him. His workers look to hard at my "junk and toys" to trust them here alone.

  8. NAKED VENTURE PICTURES!! Will be interesting to see whats next!!
  9. Watch E-Bay. Standard and Royale are different in the early ones.
  10. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/accessories/500/ACC-MOLDM-GS-10-500.jpg Molybdenum Disulfide Greasehttp://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/common/blank.gifThis extreme-pressure grease lubricates high loads at various speeds. Non-corrosive, it’s water-resistant, exhibiting low-friction properties that protect against wear and galling in difficult operating conditions. I can't figure out how to find percentages of ingredients. The Honda Moly Grease is 60 percent Molybdenum.
  11. That is a trip to dream about!!
  12. Glad you guys made it safe Rick. My bike is sitting in the drive(and in Skids garage) wondering where that guy is that was going to do all that riding this year.
  13. And Now I know...
  14. Turn petcock on reserve and leave it there. You should turn it once in a while so it doesn't freeze up. No need to turn it on and off. The old ones were bad about that and then handle would break when you tried to move it. These things like RPMs. I rarely shift mine that low but its just a Old Wore Out 1st Gen..... :whistling: And WELCOME!! Ask questions we got answers. I even think a few right ones!
  15. It will have plenty of power if you get it running right. There are Plug wires set on E-Bay for about 35 bucks I think. Need to have Copper core wires and resistor plug caps. There are covers for those rear holes probally getting hard to find. There is also a vent made that fits there but they go high dollar on E-Bay. The brakes should be better than that. Get that old worn out fluid changed. The 12 bucks for this site could be the best money you will ever spend. We can help you get it going right and they are Great old bikes. Run circles around that Hardley. Wish you lived closer would like to spend a day on that one just to show you what great bikes they can be.
  16. I haven't been in there in a while but once you drain I think you can see bolt you were turning? And you can check it to see if you loosened it. Have to make up tool I think. Someone will chip in here. I just can't remember without seeing it. But I would check it before I put things back togather.
  17. Mark take your measurements with you and shop around the Auto Parts stores. I saw some chrome tips in one of them not long ago but didn't check them out. Or go to a exhaust place and see if they can make what you want out of stainless and have them chromed. Us 1st Gen owners learn to think outside the box!! Makes my head hurt...
  18. What goverment agency would cover this. 357 will run him off when he does show but probally don't want to do that. Or shouldn't do that. Want to is another thing.
  19. REMOVE AIR!!! Before you open screw!!! Hard to clean all that stuf:whistling:. And have forks off ground!!
  20. Prayers for all involved.
  21. No Show.
  22. Got all the Ride-On into the tire. I had bounced it around and dribbled it like a basketball after I aired it up the 1st time. Took it for a ride of about 20 miles before I remembered I had forgotten to balance came back let the air out added the Ride-On and started out again. Made it about 1/2 mile before air disappeared. I did not check when it went flat to see if it had came off rim then just turned it around and limped it home. Might have broken bead when I done that. I didn't loose all the Ride-On. It didn't make enough of a mess. Kind of hard to see how much is left. It runs pretty smooth now but I might go ahead and pull it and balance.
  23. Well.....:think:Fits in here anyway!!:whistling:
