  1. I have grabbed a handfull of front brake a footfull of rear brake and prayed at the same time!! I think its the prayers.....
  2. NAY NAY NAY....... I ride a 1st Gen. Only time I tie it down is when the parking lot is full of 2nd Gens!!!:whistling: I really don't have a lot of experience tying down these brutes. Dingy's advice sounds good.
  3. Stretching it out to a 50' pad and using all the play I could on the footers I got it down to 1/2 " out. This is going from inside edge to outside edge of footers where needed. That was my last measurment on it. Leg says quit and take pills. 1/2 inch I can deal with. Block will be hanging over footer couple of inches on one corner at this but I'm getting close. I can probally get closer. Should have dug up transit somewhere. Do they rent those things? Then dig in my brain to remember how to use it. BUT IT'S BIGGER!!:clap2: 50' x 18'
  4. Yep that Earl knows a thing or 2. But don't believe a word he says when sitting around campfire....:whistling: I told you I'd get for ragging on me so much about my foot & leg that night Earl. The Warden still laughs about it.
  5. I'm with Mick all the way on this one after thinking about Joe's post!!!
  6. The two 40' sides can be measured 18' anywhere you want. The two 18' sides are 40' at the corners..:bang head::bang head:
  7. And thats what it is all about. There is not a cut and dried answer to this one for everybody but we can chop it up and have fun with it and I didn't see any blood!!
  8. Maybe....but don't think so in this case.
  9. E-Bay Annie. Go to E-Bay Motors and do search for parts to fit it. I took a quick look and didn't see anything. Maybe listed different.
  10. Sharp Bike!! I live on this site er I mean in West by God Virginia...
  11. I got a set of Mecury sticks and it would be a great ride!!
  12. 43' 10" ??? 19 " out with diagonals of 43' and 44' 7" Divide the difference and that is pretty close to 43' 10". 43' 9 1/2" & 43' 9 1/2. I know what is needed just can't move that concrete. That would make it sprung only 4 3/4" on each corner or 2 3/8s" depending on which eye you were looking with. It is hard to do without a transit but all these guys seem to think I need to rework the whole thing. My footers are anywhere from 14" to 18" wide. Couple spots 20" wide. He couldn't dig in a straight line. A block is only 8" wide. I hate to tell these guys that are supposed to know what they are doing that if they can't wiggle that thing in there they don't know what the F*** they are doing but...... I know it is hard to picture what I'm saying here and pics wouldn't help but I have beat myself up for what 3 weeks and the dam thing can be made to work. The Hell with all of them!!! I can add 2x2 and I learnt "Old School" when you had to make do with what you had!!
  13. That Front set I got a while back for "Ugly" look like new. Need to add a back one to match them up I guess.
  14. Check your oil level.
  15. If everybody would go flush a extra time that might raise the water level and it would run Down Under faster!! Well it sounds like it might work...:whistling:
  16. 9 & 1/2 inches out. Don't seem like much but hard to cover up. Still trying to find someone that wants to work.
  17. I like the feel of my linked ones on the 86. Need to upgrade 85 a little but they will stay linked. Now if I could get ABS....
  18. Works great for a 1st Gen.
  19. So you think Lew might move up to a "real" motorcycle when he comes back????:whistling:
