    Never thought about it but my cruise was acting up and not wanting to set on my 85. I lubed speedometer and cruise does work better. I thought it was not setting from lack of use.

    Harbor Freight also sells the ABS rods to go with the welder.

    You will have to pull the speedometer to lube the bearings in it. You were right to pull cable. It will destroy the speedometer if not lubed.
