    Hardest part getting motor out Lew?? I have this to do on 2 engines already. Randy how is 2nd Gen tranny working? I forgot about the one you pointed out on E-Bay. Missed it.

    Was a set of Diaphragms somewhere on E-Bay for decent price. Just got diaphragms. Had to put them on your slides. Maybe someone has addy to them. I'll look but don't think I have it.

    I had a couple on the "Blue Beast" that were totaled with her. Boxes that sat next to front of trunk. Bracket went in and attached to trunk mount. I still got pieces of them I need to get out. I really liked them. Maybe i can copy them.

    After you ride it a while this won't scare you so much. Lot of threads here about it. It will sooner or later start to "pop" under hard throttle in 2nd. I don't think babying it will help any. The one I ran the hardest lasted the longest. But its not that bad. We can get you thru it.

    If the last 4 numbers of your vin are higher than 1413 you have nothing to worry about. If not there is a bunch of info on here for 2nd gear fix. Requires removing engine and splitting case. I didn't get lucky. Mine started jumping out of gear at 19k but it will still bring front tire up when I hit 2nd.

    Tractor Supply puts it on sale at around 42 bucks a gallon. I stock up then.

    A few years ago a German Shepard tore up a couple pairs of pants for me.He had bitten several people around there. I was wearing 16 inch line boots to work then and riding to work and back.. Owner thought it was funny. Those line boots had steel toes. After he met toe he didn't bother anyone anymore. Owner tried to sue. I laughed then. Just got 1200 bucks damage to Ranger by Bambi. All kinds of things out there to run over.

    Check in air box. If oil is there he kept level too high. 1/2 way up sight glass is as far as it should go or engine will push it out into breather.

    Small set of vice grips. Get them out and toss them. You can knock that center tit out with a screwdriver. I got a bit somewhere that fits them. From Harbor Freight.

    What # is it? Safe from 2nd gear woes?? Mine started skipping at 19k. Can't remember number that fix was made on. Someone will know. Welcome!! I could bring mine down and sleep on your couch for 30 hrs if you would make it look like that...... Mine was so dirty and ugly when I first saw it that its name is "UGLY" Be carefull keeping that front wheel on the ground!!

    Adjustable back rest sounds good. But I don't have a back rest yet. I use my tent and sleeping bag...How about a auto-tent setter upper? No Yama Mama will be there...

    I still kick myself when I think of the 81 I found that was complete. He claimed the radio didn't work and battery was dead. Hadn't been started for about a year. I made deal for it. 250 bucks. Didn't get back when i was supposed to. Gone when I got there... :crying:
