I carry three of the cheap air mats. Can catch them for a buck sometimes. I sleep on two great and keep one for a spare. Take up very little room at all. Biggest trouble I have with them is getting air out to fold them up.
I've been cut on a few times and it always takes a little recovery time. I just ain't ever had "that" operation!! And ain't gonna!! But I wouldn't worry just give her a little time water and maybe a few bites of her favorite treats.

I'll have to agree with Larry. Not a good approach to replacing seal. If the metal part is bent or twisted any at all it is more than likely going to leak.
