  2. Let us know where it was??
  3. I knew there was something I could tell the Warden!!! Thanks Jack I didn't know what to tell her since I've been telling her I ride like a old man these days....
  4. Harbor Freight has a pretty fair grinder. I've used mine quite a bit. Had it for 10 yrs or better.
  5. As I have mentioned several times...if I get 4k out of a rear it would be fantastic!!:whistling:I put a new Avon on the Blue Beast and 3400 miles later thread was hanging out.
  6. If you bring that 1st Gen off the line about 8k you won't have a problem.....
  7. Thanks for your service. Stay safe and hurry home.
  8. When you crank on a 1st Gen and all that power is shifted to the rear........ Hell don't know Jack but it sounded good...
  9. I could show up for that one Joe. Just to make sure he don't forget nothing.
  10. These carbs are really pretty tough. Have you used Sea-Foam or BerryMan's Chem Tech?? Most can be saved with a good soak while still on the bike. TCI's are hard to come by. Can be caught on E-Bay. I got one last month for $2.50. Not going to happen often. And I've paid big bucks for the Ingitech ones. Are they any better? Don't know never used one. Without knowing the bike you are gambling as with anything that old. A lot of help to be had here for only 12 bucks a year. Best deal going anywhere. I would gamble on another one of these old beasts but please don't tell my wife. Buy It We can fix it and it is a great ride!
  11. PECAN PIE?? Where ya parking it at?? No reason to worry my diet doesn't allow stuff like that... or Ice Cream.....
  12. Dirty and bent connections can really mess with ya. Learning to use Multi-meter would be a great plus for me. I just go at it the redneck way and hope for the best.
  13. Slip a plastic bag over it til you find a way to seal it.
  14. Mine is a 82 XJ 750
  15. #2 cylinder operates the tach. Could be TCI going out or dirty connectors. Seem like #2 is 1st plug to go.
  16. There is no way we should be able to run with that FREAK. But I've heard the wind blow before. You keep making noise.
  17. In your EAR!! Brakes are what you learn to handle I don't care what you got you have to know what kind of pressure you can get away with.
  18. Who is that guy anyway???
  19. I'll argue with the big guy!! I love the linked brakes. BUT I've never changed one of these systems.... Clean what you have carefully and it should work. Never had trouble with leaks there. Hey Squid did you get a rotor? I went to shop to look and Jeff had already answered with I got back on here. I'm still not sure what I got....... PM me if you need.
  20. Bike will run as strong as anything you have rode of that size if you get it right. Join up and it won't take long.
  21. Quit chasing GIRLS??? Oh yeah the Warden said I did...... Right after she wanted to learn to shoot.
  22. Put mine in closet. Hope its about 50 years before I have to go look for it.
  23. And my 1st Gen is faster than both of ya!! And I got wheels on my CHROME walker!! What 2nd Gen??? I hid it.....
