I should have mentioned that. Just make sure what you use has no friction modifiers in it. Pay crazy prices for motorcycle oil in my opinion is a good way to throw your money away. Castrol 20/50 car oil is what I use.
Most important thing is to choose a Good oil and change it as you should. I have used Castrol 20/50 since the early 60's. Never had a oil related problem. The important thing is to change it before it wears out!! The Synthetics seem to hold up longer. I change mine every 3000 to 3500 miles. Just pick a Good one stay with it and change it as you should.
My Last Hardley was that 56 Pan. Rigid Frame, raked 47 degrees extended 16 inches. Twisted tube Grundy front. Drilled frame and ran all wiring thru frame. No exposed wiring. Candy Apple Red with Gold Metal Flake. No front brake. 16 inch Ape Hangers. Chrome spokes. Polished side cases. King Queen that fit frame very well. Would make the Old man's on Orange County look 2nd class. But ride that thing!!!Never again!! Notice I said LAST Hardley!!
Don't need no stinking Hardley.... I got a 2nd gen!! Looks like a good old man's ride Barry. When I get too old to handle "Brown Sugar" I'll have that 2nd Gen....
I have no excuses. It needs rode!! Things haven't been great here but I NEED TO RIDE!! Brown Sugar has been looking at me a little strange. No Excuses.
Quit firing on left side sitting in garage!! It gets started regular?? I'm gonna ride it. One of these days. But you walk into a garage with Brown Sugar and the nameless one sitting there.......
I can yank a set of 1st Gen plugs before you can drink a cup of coffee. Any tricks on the 2nd Gen? :think:I thought there was a thread on it but can't find. Might have been before crash.
I guess I'm going to have to be trained all over again. Anybody remember all those questions I had the 1st few years??
I go a Corbin on the 99. Trade for a pillow Top might be the way to go but I haven't tried it yet. Those beads look interesting. The backrest seems to come up a little short.
You made me think. I last worked in May 2009....WOW!! Can't believe its been that long!!Seems like last week. My trips to the gym got interrupted by politics. The politicians around here decided they wanted the gym. Now it don't get used at all.
