Yeah the old 650s with a crazy 120 lb kid on it could sure surprise a Hardley with a 300 lb bear on it!!! They never did figure that part out. Busted the new Gold Wings When they showed up too. Guy on the 1st Wing I ran told his friends there was No Way that 650 could touch his bike. The guys I was with collected over 1500 bucks on that one. What a Hoot!! I would like to know where that nerve went. Crank it til it was swinging hard past redline and just turn it loose!!!Pray that the chain held and the clutch wasn't too hot to grab!!!

Hey Puc do you remember the old "Charity News" way back in early 70s in Columbus?? I ruled the drag Strip up there a couple years. I think the Guys I rode with just took me along to bet on the idiot that could put that Yammy about 1000 rpms past redline and just dump the clutch!! Full time job keeping up with clutches and chains!!

The spring gives up pretty easy. Its not hard to make one for it. I found a small spring and just bent to what I needed then Freebird had one he wasn't using.....

Maybe it just thinks you are crazy to sell it!!!! It does sound like fuel. This junk they sell us anymore is ruining a lot of carbs and engines because people don't know what to do with them. Can't get mower to crank?? Just buy a new one!!! With these things we can't (most of us) do that. Sea-Foam soak time??? I would bet on it.

Bars are adjustable on 1st Gen. Footrests are adjustable. I'm not knocking the 2nd Gen so much I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of great miles out of it but the 1st Gen was just so far ahead if they would have just continued and added improvements to it?? Nothing that hasn't been said before and once I get that thing on the road I may fall in love all over again. Its just winter and the ground is WHITE!!!

I'm pretty sure you don't have to drop the chamber and snow is knee deep between here and garage. I just can't remember but think someone around here will.

That's a idea!! I just hesitate to just give it back to them with their attitude. They would probally sell it to someone else if they are going to be like that. Ask Dingy his thoughts?? I haven't set this one to me yet. I usually take a little trip with a few tools and several stops to adjust bars, pegs and whatever. Bars don't adjust on this one. Boards don't adjust. Just Highway Pegs?? 1st Gen wins again!!

I think I would still be wanting something from them or post as widespread as I could and let them know I was going to do that. Keep it to back up your claim. If they have it you have no proof of anything. The one in my bike seems to run fine. I'm sure Don would have noticed if anything was wrong with it.
