Did ride from central WV to Myrtle Beack to West Tenn. back to WV. The thing beat me to death from home to Tenn along with a lot of rain. It was wearing me out!!! Got to thinking about the time I hit Tenn and looking at those big full fringes hanging from my bars. (Won at last MD had to do something with them) Pulled them off and NEW BIKE!! From being ready to get rid of it to enjoying a Great ride til I fell over the hill(another story) I think the 2nd Gen may be a easier long distance ride but hard to knock my 1st Gen!!Given a choice of a new 1st or 2nd Gen it would be 1st.

Got Mother-in-Law for the next....... wouldn't be nice of me. Nice??? ME?? She is a great old lady and likes me!!! Sides with me against the Warden!! WE are acturally trying to talk her into long time stay. I wouldn't mind sat all. Only problem she smoke and our house has never been smoked in. She won't smoke in the house and we are trying to figure way for her to handle that. That wasn't my Prison. Was it the Red Onion?? Virginia's Max Security. Where ya headed on I 77? I'm only 40 miles up where it joins I 79. WE will ride sometime.

I don't know what it is but can see why old men like the 2nd Gen!! Rock solid on the road!! Just seem to track better and not dance around as much??? Big trucks don't seem to beat it up as much either??? Or am I getting old??

Yrs are doing their thing to me too Steve but get taken by a Sportster??Something wrong somewhere. And I know I saw 120mph as I shifted to 4th on my 84 and rpms were somewhere above 8000 I'm pretty sure. Wasn't looking for numbers that day just listening to that 1200 sing!!Those that want to call me a liar need to grow a set of balls and I don't give a Rats behind what their numbers say.

Leaves a lot of parts to be had. It would get very expensive. I'll keep trying to understand the carbs. I'm sure that in another 50 yrs or so I'll have them.

That one in Charleston looks pretty good but I didn't look real close. That Dark color Maroon or Black?? Color Blind I'm not sure. But pretty.
