To be really honest I understand your feelins about the Hardley. A fully dressed Ultra is one sharp BIKE. Way back when I lost my 56 Pan the guys I was riding with started giving me a hard time because I grabbed up that little Yamaha because it was all I could afford. "We ride Hardley or Nothing!!!"Kind of ticked me off and ended up doing me the favor of causing me to split with them. They lost a wrench and I got my life back. I do drool a little when I look at that "JUNKER" you got Don!

I would be asking to make sure it is right gasket. You could take heads in with you to show them and hope his IQ is over 2.

These things are hard on plugs. Trying a new one might be a cure.

Why does there have to be a answer to WHY?? Why do we so the things we do? Why? WE are warned about how dangerous riding ours bikes is but we continue. WHY?? We are told "You can't do that" WHY do we not pay heed to these warnings??WHY??

I still haven't found that big difference yet. I guess yhe 1st Gen just fits my short legged long body. Not a big difference but I will give the 2nd Gen a slight edge out on the road. I'm still fighting that pig in traffic but plan a few changes.

The 1st Gen is faster. No contest on low end. Above 100 mph they are a lot closer. But Skid and I wouldn't know anything about this.You know we would never break the law.

Why??? Are we up at 2:00 in the morning answering a WHY? Thread??? WHY??

A long story but when we got the Blizzard in 78 we had just planted a telephone pole in the hole when we decided to eat lunch. Leaving the truck hooked to the pole we got into the truck without a sign of white crap anywhere. I bent over and picked up my lunch box from the floor and opened it to see what I had for lunch. I looked back up and the world was white!!! We ate lunch and watched the snow for a bit and had a rough time getting that hole filled with dirt and that pole tamped up with all that white crap in the hole!! And still had to go back later and refill it after all the snow that got mixed in with the dirt melted. We had good tires on the truck and did make it back to the shop in time to get sent out on a broken pole. Car slid into it!! We got done putting everything back in the air about 4;30 in the next morning. Went back to shop slept about a hr there and worked the next day on another broken pole. Did I mention I HATE SNOW???

Fingers don't listen sometimes!!! WHY???
