I DIDN"T READ ENOUGH. The 88 I thought should have it. Pics of Dash?? It may have been converted to use Sharder valves like the early Standards. -

That is a interesting thought. -
I also have a 83 with a new frame replaced by Yamaha. He had everything done to this one he could but it doesn't have the mark for 2nd gear and it is still strong at 68k. He moved out of state and can't find him. Went to shop that did all his work and the *******s told me they can't release that info.

litteacher this is in no way trying to scare you away from this Scoot. 2nd gear is going to go (maybe) it does on most. The frame on some not sure how many had this happen but not all. But there are fixes!! WE can help. And once you ride this thing we got ya!! They are a great scoot. I have a 85 with 2nd going out at 22k. I had a 83 that it lasted til 77k. And I have a couple 83s with 2nd still going strong.

I have looked at that a bunch of times Randy and mine never did come apart like that. It just sat down on the tire. There are some cracks. I goofed and took the thing apart thinking I knew what I was looking for and when weight is off of it it goes back togather til you can't see a serious break!! Bout drove me nuts looking at it. One of these days I'm going to just go over it and weld all cracks and add braces like you did. Another good one sitting and waiting.

Sure the handlebar is not just out of adjustment with the other? They adjust at two different points. If you have the on-board air ride it is probally a Royale. That does look bent but you could probally adjust most of it out to match up with the other one til you found one.

I think it was just the MK1s Puc Randy did have a good thread on it. That ride had some pucker power when I knew what was going on and was about 50 miles from home. Every time it kissed that tire........I was just waiting for it to explode under me!! Haul it home???? Got to be kidding!! Maybe all the UMP those early motors had?? I still got that sweet running thing (with a strong 2nd gear) waiting.

You may not have air pump!! The valve for the rear you found add about 30 lb to start with. Most ride around 40 in the rear. When you find the valves for the front be very carefull. You can blow these and cause damage with too much air!! Only about 7 lb in these. You will find valves under caps around the steering neck to the left of ignition switch. Do NOT PUT over 14 lbs in these. -

I agree with most that has been said here BUT. There is always a BUT isn't there? I have had 3 major accidents in the last 10 yrs. 2 close to home with Idiots either High or Drunk. As mentioned maybe I just need to learn how to ride. I guess what I'm trying to say is no area is safe for us these days. Last accident was in Ohio and I can't remember. (Head took a pretty good lick again.) But the other two I could not have been doing any better on my part. Could have avoided them by staying in bed that morning. The areas in WV are great rides but we still have to be watching for idiots. No idea what set me off on this this morning but there are some GREAT Rides in West by God!! Not sure that is best part of State but it is nice. A little high Dollar up that way for this country boy. Retirement Sucks!! -

:sign yeah that: Only operates in ACC position. But don't think it should sit that low without air. -

The next time I tried to use my Harbor Freight one after I posted this it dumped all the oil on the floor. Learning to let things down on them takes some practice. Put a board or something on them and have your pardner sit on it and get the feel of it. THE JACK NOT YOUR PARDNER!!! After a little practice you can operate it a lot better. -
