  1. I finally checked my bike and now know why I have no deflectors, the original brackets are both snapped off right below mounting screws. But the good news is nothing else appears to be damaged and I can remount a new set. If it is not to late I will take a set. Just let me know.
  2. I have both and I went back to the stock windshield for highway use. The shorter one is good for around town but too much buffeting on the highway.(and during rain I hunker down behind the windshield also)
  3. My 99 does not have deflectors but I have been looking for them what do they mount too?
  4. Nah I don't think your nuts "IF ITS WHAT YOU WANT GO FOR IT" !!!!!!
  5. I was seriously looking at the nomads before the voyager came out and then realized I did want the fairing and all the comforts it added. But since I didn'y want to cough up 17,000 for a new one and had no intention of waiting for a couple of years for a used one I started looking elsewhere and fell in love with my RSV. Hope you can get the deal you want and its all the bike you hoped for!!:clap2:
  6. Well it sounds like we are leaving on tuesday afternoon, but if you see a twin to your bike with North Dakota plates its me:hurts: PS watch out for deer in the hills:rudolf:
  7. yes Devils Tower is an awesome campground> When will you be in Sturgis? My wife and I will be there the first weekend.
  8. I split the fairing on my 99 not sure if its the same on the 2005 or not. 1. carefully remove trim for windshield 2. remove windshield 3. there is a screw right below headlight that needs to be removed 4. now if you have driving lights you will need to take an allen wrench and loosen the nuts just enough so that you can drop them forward some to wiggle fairing at bottom.(this works best with the allen wrenches with a ball on one end so you can angle your allen wrench) 5 now there are 5 or 6 (not sure) screws running along the inside edge of fairing on each side that need to be removed . fairing should be redy to come off carefully try to remove maybe stuck to other side if doesn,t come apart you wll have to look for more screws? (doing this from memory I am at work bikes at home) reverse process when done. Hope this helps and never got a chance to get back to you on the pipes I bouhgt from you all I can say about em is "LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES"
  9. At the risk of sounding stupid how much air pressure is every one running in their shocks on their 2nd generation RSVS? I have not checked my pressure but suspension seems "stiff"? Any help would be appreciated.
  10. I havebeen stung 3 times in the last week in the same calf. (its all swollen up now turns out I may be allergic) Went to my local hardware store and bought some velcro straps they are 20" long put them on my pants at boot level, lose the cool breeze but no more angry insects in the pants. cost me about $6 for a pack of 6.
