  1. Who are the manufacturers of the springs and brace and where do I find them? Thanks
  2. I had my hazard switch apart today and discovered the little copper pads inside the switch where the wiring is attached were pretty dirty. found one of the solder connections loose. Also, cleaned the small tits on the slide contacts. Also found fuse blown. Everything works now.
  3. I am trying to install the two moles on top and bottom of the front chrome windshield trim. Has anyone come up with a good adhesive to hold these in place?
  4. On my 89 VR with original exhaust they are located on the bottom at the front of each muffler. They are about 1/8".
  5. I have also seen the threads regarding the copper wire. I'm usually not a short cut person so I will probably order the copper bands. I guess after 20 years the old ones worked fine until it was disturbed.
  6. There is a small hole in the front bottom of each muffler that I assume is a drain hole. when I push a small screw driver into he hole it only goes into the outer chamber of the muffler and not to the inside. I was running some Seafoam through the other day and noticed smoke coming out of the small drain holes. Is this normal for exhaust to come out of the drain holes? If you hold your hand under the hole the exhaust is coming out at a pretty good flow. Second question. I replaced the four engine exhaust gaskets. Now it appears that the left rear is leaking between the collector and rear left exhaust pipe. Should I have replaced the wide copper bands inside at each joint as well?
  7. Has anyone installed a connection for a GPS to plug into. Is this just a normal automotive assessory connection? This is on a 1989 VR.
  8. You are the man. How do you want to handle this? I can send you money first or you can trust me to send after you mail. Either way is good with me. Mailing address is: Ron McClain 7506 Deer Valley Crossing Powell Ohio 43065
  9. I was having trouble getting the E4 code almost all the time. I was fooling around in the back of the unit and noticed that when I wiggled the main connector the unit would reset. After reading several comments on this website about soldering the circuit board due to loose connections I decided to look deeper. I disassembled the unit and removed the circuit boards. Using a magnifing glass I was able to see that the solder joints on the back of the main connector were loose and would move when I applied pressure to the connector. Went to Radio Shack and purchased a 25W soldering iron, solder, and desoldering braid. Fixed it myself and the unit works fine. Small investment for a major fix. Thanks to you all who placed the information on the web.
  10. Also need the right side cover vent unit. This is the black insert piece with the adjustable vents. Also need right saddlebag cover rear latch catch. Must be the rear. Thanks.
  11. If the bike has am/fm/cb I would be interested in the antenna. Thanks
  12. In need of the right saddlebag "cover" latch catch. I would think the rear from the left bag would work also. It must be the rear because the front and rear are different (why would you want to make them the same?). Thanks for any help.
  13. Need pressure switch mounted on the rear of the valve assembly above the rear fender for the CLASS system. If this doesn't work then I will probably need a controller. I keep getting the E4 code. Also need antenna for am/fm/cb. Also need left side cover vent assembley.
