    I found a XMsnap radio at Best Buy on the day after Christmas for $19.99 and decided to see if it would work in the DC outlet in the fairing. Since I had already split the audio input, there was a 3.5mm plug to use for the audio output of the XM radio. In short, this radio works great. All I had to do was locate the included antenna, plug it and the audio cable into the XMsnap and plug the unit into the DC outlet. Quick & easy and it sounds great. See pictures.

    I've owned a '08 charcoal/silver RSTD and now I own a '08 charcoal RSV. Although, with my compulsions to by stuff for the motorcycle, I think it owns me.

    Can you take the emblem off the cassette door without messing up the door? If so, how do you do it?

    Dennis, I hope you like it as much as I like mine. It's much more comfortable to me than the stock seat. Since Mustang has no plans to make a cover for the Venture passenger backrest, I got them to sell me a couple of yards of the vinyl they use for the seats. Unless anybody on this board knows of a someone that can make a cover, I'll find somebody locally that can. David

    The new Mustang seat for the Venture is one piece construction.The only way to use a backrest is to order the Mustang seat with the backrest.

    I ordered the Mustang seat without the backrest last Thursday and received it Tuesday. It's great! Not nearly as soft as the stock seat and the vinyl is smoother so you don't stick to the seat after a couple of hours. I love it and I think you will too. However, the vinyl does not match the passenger backrest - not even close. Mustang tells me that they do not plan to make passenger backrest for the Venture. I may see if they will sell me a couple of yards of the vinyl and see if I can find an upholsterer that can recover the backrest.

    I am definitely interested in the new Mustang seat. I've had Mustang seats on my last two bikes and have been very pleased. Any idea when it will be available? I checked Mustang's website and there is no mention of a seat for the Venture.

    Gamecock - I bought these same liners back in July and I have been very pleased with them. They are well made, fit like a glove and can't be beat for the price.

    Thanks guys. I have already made up my mind to take it back and make them fix it. It's running so bad now that there's no way they can deny there's a problem.

    I just got my RSTD back from the dealer and they said there is nothing wrong with it. I took it in because it: 1) is hard to start 2) runs rough 3) vibrates alot between 40 & 50 mph 4) pops & backfires on deceleration I replaced the plugs and that didn't help. Does it sound like the carbs are out of synch? Is there a forum member in central Alabama that has a Carbtune or a set of vacuum gauges that would be willing to help me with this? I love this bike, but it's really takes the fun out of riding when it is running so crappy.

    I wired my passing lights to a Custom World International Smart Switch that works like a latching relay. Using it means you don't have to mount a separate switch - I installed mine under the seat. It works like this: High beams on - passing lights on High beams off - passing lights on High beams on - passing lights off High beams off - passing lights off Attached is a schematic of how I wired mine. You can google CWI Smart Switch to find where to buy it or you can do like I did and get it off ebay.

    I'm thinking about getting the Clearview windshield 1-1/2" shorter than stock. How long did you have to wait for delivery?
