    I see ya gotcha one of them carbon fiber hoods now when you get ready to sell it you'll have to put a big wing on the back & a coffee can fer a muffler .

    I tried the Hawk also for the price but returned it . The liner felt as hard as a brick! I found a Shark RSX on closeout $150 from $400 at motorcyclecloseouts.com & have been pretty happy with it .

    Thanks for putting in the research. I & I'm sure many here will follow your results . I love the idea of saving money without cutting corners . I will also be watching for any coments on possible downsides.

    "insanity" I bought the biggest bike I could afford (used) because it was cheaper than the used full sized scooters I really did consider . I just couldn't see buying the scooter over the less expensive Venture & justifying that as sane. Don't worry I'm not offended as I did scare the crap outta myself week 1 . Of corse if I keep it shiny side up a few more seasons then maybe I can be offended . Besides have you ever seen a fat man on a scooter & not laughed a little ? If I were still 20 yrs old I would kill myself on a 250 as I was invincable like most.Now that I'm older I just tend to get off subject , sorry.

    can u still hear the " jetson car " sound or does it make that louder too ? if he can fly why doesn't he pass & get outta my blind spot? On second thought he better not because that would bring on the strangest case of road rage yet.

    if the bolt has any points left sometimes a star patern wrench will lock in when an allen won't , worth a try if you have the right size

    Where are these jobs? I know of workers that have just been laid off in Greensboro,NC . Where are you located. I would not recomend anyone who doesn't show up every day on time and ready to work , seems you don't need more headaches.

    If I ever get a picture of my '99 l'll disprove the "silver doesn't show dirt theory". Sunday is looking good for washday & I'll not wash again until I get my polished aluminum deflecters . I'm calling a strike , my wife says no one can tell as I'm also to lazy to hold the dang sign.

    I had the part # for a pair of bazooka's but haven't search for it yet . Has anyone tried them? I have a tight budget and speakers are on the bottom of the list , but it is a short list

    I know the tread is old but I enjoyed reading all 6 pages & yep as stated above a 2nd gen is my first bike ( cause a new V-max woulda just been dumb:178: & wasn't even near my budget) went straight from a weekend corse on a 250 to picking up my venture and driving across 2 states(found on craigslist). I've been comuting to work all summer & hope to keep it shiny side up. I must admit to wanting a 1st gen but a 20+ year old bike and no wrenching skills can't match up well with a wife who has learned to say " I told ya so " without opening her mouth. I also wanted to thank DRAGONSLAYER for his post.

    I know this doesn't help you but wanted to say thanks to Boomer & some of the others as I'm going to try to train myself to keep my heel on the floor as I have a tendency to lock the rear tire in panic stop situations but am also considering the Butler brake mod as I beleive insticts may overide training in a true PANIC situation. I'm sure it looked impresive to the guy behind me as I slid sideways and strsightened backup um Twice but he don't know I left a third skidmark in a hard to see place:scared:

    I always seem to work backwards from others. I found a couple of helmets online I could afford then searched for brick n mortar store for fitting . A couple of sites with deals are Leatherup & motorcyclecloseouts.com don't know about shipping to Canada . My fullface Shark retailed for $400 bought it for $150 at closeouts but it had sat for over a year before being sold. Fulmers are sold cheap as raiders if you have pep boys & Gmax also seem to be bargains and have good reveiws I know it doesn't directly answer you question but If you are also on a budget I thought I'd share my research. webbike.com (check spelling) has alot of info also

Jus in case I sure am glad I don't speed anymore .Don't you hate unidentified quotes ? Badjas we dont need no stinkin badjas.

    Corvair motor four carbs & trans in my shed now, was for a project that is no longer mentioned in my house anyone willing to pay scrap price can pick it up as long as it doesn't get scrapped (and nobody mentions kit-car nobody gets hurt )
