  1. Now that might work. I did have a reply from a guy in Jeff who has a Royal, I screwed up and posted it over in that tech area first, The weekend of the 1st is my last weekend shifts for a while so if I don't get with him an eveniing before that I will definitely give you a call. We come down through eldon all the time, my brother in law lives in Horseshoe Bend. How often do you guys ride or is there a group around here that rides together?
  2. That would be awesome except I work a 13 hour shift on Sat and Sun night, go in at 7 pm and don't get off until 8 am so I doubt I would be in any shape to drive that far although that sounds like a blast.
  3. Right now I am off on Mon at 8 am through Thurs at 11 pm. Next week however I have to travel to Lexington, Ky on Tues-Wed to pick up my daughter. Aug 3 I go to dayshift Mon-Fri so maybe an evening after that would probably workout better depending on your schedule. I appreciate the help. where in Jeff City are you located? I can be in Jeff in less than an hour.
  4. Unfortunately I posted this in the Royal Tech area earlier, sorry. Was wondering if there was anyone near Central Mo (Sedalia) that already has a carb synch setup that would be willing to help me do mine. I am very leary about messing with the carbs by myself. I would travel to your place or you could come to mine. I would also buy dinner. Thanks, Donnie
  5. Unforunately I will be working days and can't make it. I just stared a new job in March and have no time off. Looks like I posted this in the wrong section also, oops sorry. Admins feel free to move this if you'd like.
  6. Sorry all, I meant for this to be in the Venture Tech area. Was wondering if there was anyone near Central Mo (Sedalia) that already has a carb synch setup that would be willing to help me do mine. I am very leary about messing with the carbs by myself. I would travel to your place or you could come to mine. I would also buy dinner. Thanks, Donnie
  7. Great write up. I need to check mine as well.
  8. I don't know if I should stop by and get the jackets now or not, I'd hate to have to him come to the door nekkid.
  9. Thanks for all the replies and offers. I emailed the guy I bought the bike from and at first he emailed back and said he didn't think he had it but he would look. Well, this morning I got a call saying he found it and would send it to me. Again I appreciate the offers and will report back when I get it. That's why this such an awesome place. Donnie
  10. No I didn't miss it. Our Wal Mart still carries those water bottle holders.
  11. Good point!
  12. I am removing the Baron Lowering kit caliper relocation bracket but I need a stock one to replace it with. Anybody got one laying around that they would part with? The previous owner doesn't have it. He had removed the lowering links already and now all I need is to change out the bracket.
  13. How do you keep the pieces of wood or the hockey pucks from moving on the stand?
  14. Great job. What size P-Clamp did you use?
  15. Not sure if this info will help or not but but by adding the RK pipes, the K&N filters, and opening up the air box, you may have too much air going in there. May have to re-jet the carbs. Just my $.02 worth. Donnie
  16. That's exavtly what I need for Gina.
  17. Congrats Scott. Great looking bike. What kind of passenger backrest is that? It looks like the arms are longer than stock.
  18. I agree your time allowance doesn't give you much time at all. I would say your best bet would be the Lake Ozarks route as well. We live about an hour north of Osage Beach and that is a beautiful ride down through there and over to Hermann and then on in to St Louis. Osage Beach is only about 3 hrs or so from St Louis. We have stayed at a Bed and Breakfast down there and absolutely loved it. There plenty of hotels as well and plenty of places to eat. I would say I could meet you along teh way but I may be headed back from Va around that time. If you want, keep me posted and maybe we could work something out to meet or if you are interested, you could stop over at my house for a few hours or possibly even stay the night.
  19. Dangit, more ideas. Between this and the Av, I am gonna go broke.
  20. That looks pretty good. I looked again at my taillight and it is already an LED, the turn signals are just the regular bulb. I may go with those at a later date though. By the way, what are you asking for the extra set you have?
  21. Thanks for the info. Right now I am looking at as cheap as possible. Previous owner already put a bar under the trunk. I have my sights on a pair of front lights from a Venture for alot less than teh LED's. So for now I'll go that route and take a look a t the lights you have listed in your post.
  22. Glad to hear they are ok. That has been one of my worst fears also of being beside a rig when a tire blows. Even if my truck much less on a bike. Seems all you see nowadays are tire gators laying everywhere. I had a Tyson semi hit a gator in front of me one day and tore a brake line on the trailer. He did a hell of a job saving it, the brakes locked up and he nearly jackknifed the rig but he saved it. Had I been about 15 seconds faster, I would have been right beside it in my PT Cruiser.
  23. Was just curious. I'll be looking for a set to do it myself. Did a quick search and see anything about it here.
  24. I had a VStar 650 Classic a few yrs back and a popular mod in those bikes was to get a set of front turn signals and put them on the rear. The reason for this is because the rear lights are just that, turn signals. By putting a set of front lights, you not only have turn signals but running lights as well. And we all know the more lights the better. All you do is splice into the taillight. Was just wondering if anyone has done that to the Venture?
  25. Great pics. I am contemplating a trip home to see my mom and dad in July. It's about 900 miles one way to Va.
