  1. Thanks for the writeup and pics. That's awesome. So are you saying the ride is better than expected?
  2. Thanks for the info. I'll probably be doing it with tire on. Have no way of removing the tire myself.
  3. Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind.
  4. Real easy but not real cheap. Thanks for the reply.
  5. Does the rear tire have to come off to change the rear shock?
  6. Well looks like I am a victim to the rear shock failure as well. Hauled it home from Mo to Va last week to ride to Rolling Thunder with my dad. He has a Harley and walked out to the building where the bikes were and started making fun of my oil leak, I said no it's not mine, that is where your Harley was parked. Well low and behold it was mine. Thought I had an oil leak first but realized quickly it was the shock. Rode just fine for the 4 hours up to DC but on the way back about 2 1/2 hours ino the ride I noticed the ride go away very quickly. Bouncing on every bump. And on the way up the country road to my dads, I couldn't even control it on the turns. Mine is a 2000 with just over 76k for mileage. One question about riding it with it blown though, won't the bouncing and such cup the tire? I know it is not good to drive a car with blown shocks just curious if it is the same on the Venture?
  7. Here I am.
  8. I was wondering how you mounted teh bag? I just picked up one from a shop for $25. I tis made by Hot Leathers. One of teh snaps was broke, pulled out, but I just pushed it in and twisted it back. Works great now. I have it resting down as far as it will go but it keeps riding up. I put 3M tape on top of the dash so I don't think it is going anywhere I just don't liek theway I have to push it back down all the time. Here is the one I bought.
  9. OK I must ask, what pins? I guessed I missed something again. Dangit.
  10. Received our mugs the other day. They look great. Thanks
  11. Paypal sent for two mugs. Thank you.
  12. This is exactly what I did on the VStar I used to have. Worked great. I want to do the same to my Venture as soon as I can find some front turn signals.
  13. Put me down for 2 if it's not too late.
  14. Congrats. I'm hoping to give it a try next spring. So if anyone around the Central Missouri area would like to ride along, let me know.
  15. Wasn't me. Of course mine isn't silver either. You mean you came over this way and didn't let me know?
  16. Just curious why it would get deleted? Unfortunately the truth hurts some. Just like the song by John Rich-"Shutting Detroit Down." THE TRUTH!
  17. It says as to cause a hazard, if 4 bikes had already made it around, seems to me he would have had plenty of time to slow down and maneuver differently.
  18. After I posted, I found this website with videos and great pics. Just need to click near the bottom of the page for istall videos and instructions. http://motorcycletrailer.com/rampage/
  19. If you go to their website, it shows it in use with a Harley dresser and the tailgate installed. I think he removed his to be able to pull the camper.
  20. Stupid request, but could you post a video of it in action?
  21. Wonder how difficult it would be to make something similar?
  22. That is sweet. Where did you get it?
  23. Sorry I haven't been on in a while, I just got back from Va due to my dad having to have emergency surgery last Tues morning. Needless to say I have not been in a very good frame of mind. Anyway, thank you so much for helping me with the carb synch. Like you said it was so close that I did not notice too much of differenece in the synch but I think adjusting the idle did help alot.
  24. Which J&M bag is everyone using? Knowing my luck it is the $99 one right?
  25. That sounds great as well. We went and picked up a buddies bike a few yrs back down in Jasper, Ar. Beautiful country and some great roads. Unfortunately, don't know that I will be making a trip that far for a while.
