home printer - ink jet or laser
KB2RWW replied to a topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Well if it wear me and I liked the the printer I would replace the drum. doing a google search I found drums under $50. If I was looking for a new printer I would have to think of the type of printing I would do and how often I will be printing and on what the printing will be on. I started with a ink-jet by lexmark but I would only use the printer a couple of times a month, the next month I went to use it the head was clogged on it do-to little use and they weren't cheep. I went and got a HP Laser-Jet 4 Plus for printing and at that time I was into proof printing electronic boards that I had designed but I soon found that I needed to print in color. I then got a OKI 5200n led printer that will let me print color on plastic overhead transparencies and applied film to make stickers. it is vary good at printing pictures on glossy paper. the printer lets you set the temperature of the fussier drum to the type of media your printing on. lazier/led printers are vary good at printing and since they use toner it will never dry out or clog the nozzles like ink-jet printers BUT if you are into printing iron-on transfers or CD/DVD's then ink-jet is for you do to the toner type printers cant handle the media. most all laser/led printers are network and USB and most ink-jet's are just USB. You just need to think about how often you will print and what you want to print will dictate what kind of printer you want. Fl-eBay is a vary good source for parts and used printers. To get an idea of what they go for you can try http://www.pricewatch.com/ All printers and there supplies are not cheep but if you only use it once in a while then a toner printer is the cheep-est way to go in the long run. that's my . they also make a special cleaning paper for the drums on toner printers and copiers, It really works. -
If it was registered in NY you would have gotten a transferable registration there is no title but since you cannot find a Vin number it means he never registered it and if he was going to he would do it as home-made. hear in NY you just need a bill of sale for the traler or parts and a way slip from a certified scale. if the traler ways under 999# you just fill out the paper work and take it to DMV and they will register it and issue a Vin# for the traler that you weld or stamp into the frame with in 10 day's. if the traler is over 999# it must go to an inspector, if he OKs the traler a Vin# will be assigned to it then it can be registered. I have built or registered many homemade trailers under 999# with no problems. It may be possible for me to do it hear in NY but that must be discussed further in private.

Hello All, I wanted to tell you all how you can repair your own gps and save a cuppel of dolers, (The problem I had) At first while driving the screen would go from 3D to always north to always up and be switching screens 3 to 4 times a second. It would finally go back to normal. After about a month of this the touch screen would work intermittently. It finally quit working completely on a trip one day. I took the thing apart and found the cable to the touch screen was really loose. I reinstall it and now its working again for now. You should try a soft reset to the GPS first before attempting this repair, it will not delete the address book. You can do a Hard reset to the GPS also but you will loos your address book. To perform a Hard Reset of the unit (will delete way-points and address book) Turn the unit off, press and hold the Speak/Volume button and then press and hold the Power/Light button. Hold both buttons down until the unit powers up and you get the Testing 123 screen. Release the 2 buttons and you will see a button on the screen that says Hard Reset, press it and the unit will warn that this will delete all user data (address book). The unit will shut off, turn it back on and the unit is reset. To perform a soft reset Turn the unit off, press and hold the map/music button and then press and hold the Power/Light button. Hold both buttons down until the unit powers up and you get past the loading bar at the bottom of the screen then release. To do the repair your self you will need a T8 bit driver a Philips screw driver, cup or plate to put the hardware on or in and a pare of tweezers. start by removing the screws around the out side edge of the GPS using the T8 driver. Do not remove the Philips screws on the out side of the case. Now split the unit open just a little to get at the black plug cable and remove it by unclasping it and then pull. Next you want to pull of the USB cable. Next pull off the ribbon cable from the board Now remove the cable from the GPS board by pulling on it. Now the cable that is for the touch screen is hear and can cum loos from vibration. You will need to remove the key pad cable from the board by pulling on it lightly till it unplugs from the board Be careful with this cable it can be damaged essay Now to fix the GPS you will have to remove 4 Philips screws from the main board and lift the board up a little to get at the touch screen cable. Using your fingers or tweezers, pull the cable out of the connecter by pulling the cable gently back turds the other end of the board. DO NOT TUCH THE OTHER CABLE it goes to the screen. Once you have the cable out slide it back into the socket all the way till it stops, be careful not to damage the cable it is real eyes to damig it. Now just follow the instructions in revers to reassemble then test the GPS. You may have to perform a soft or hard reset to the unit to reset the touch screen. If this does not fix your touch screen problems the screen may need to be removed and cleend. I can tell you how to do this if you feel brave. I can send you the instructions or I can do this service or repair for you just drop me a message.

A few years ago my naber up the road had one of his horses stolen, the cops found the horse and the person's that took it and he took them to Cort for restitution. they and there loyer were shocked to learn that my naber was seeking the death penalty towards them, the town still has a law that allows you to hanging horse thief's and he was pushing for it real hard. in the end he got his horse back and they got 5 years in prison, the judge told them they wear lucky he was in a good mood other wise he'd allow it and they can try to fight it in a higher Court.

You would think 876.16 Sections 876.11-876.15; exemptions. (2) Any person or persons engaged in trades and employment where a mask is worn for the purpose of ensuring the physical safety of the wearer, or because of the nature of the occupation, trade, or profession; My Trade/Occupation & Profession at that time is MC-Rider, I'm Exempt right?

Yes it is against the law to protect your head when on a bike. I also see that it went into the law books in 1951.

I just got a catalog for m/c clothing and found something interesting and that i would share. http://www.bikeweekleathers.com/files/images/product/d_1690.jpghttp://www.bikeweekleathers.com/files/images/product/d_1691.jpg they make a fabric that's reflective at night? googling i went and found a bunch of reflective material that can be made into anything your imagination can think of. http://thekneeslider.com/images/nexxhelmets.jpg just imagine if this was made out of that material. SuperGlo Reflective Polyester 8 oz sq. yd. This high quality 100% polyester fabric is perfect for use in items where high visibility is required. An aluminum or fluorescent orange color-coating is applied to the fabric followed by glass reflective beads. Plus this fabric is UV resistant! Perfect for all your outdoor needs! Uses: Boat covers, motorcycle covers, outdoor clothing, safety vests, bags and much more! I have found a nice MSF book that go's into detail what it would like to see happen in the next couple of years. they talk about being more visible. http://www.msf-usa.org/Downloads/NAMS_print.pdf they go into detail about how most cruiser riders prefer to ware black than contrasting colors. they also talk about bike and helmet Color as well. I know in sum stats it's mandatory to have X-amount of inches of reflective tape on your helmet but seldom do you see anybody do it unless they ride at night.

it's good to see other people taking an interest in what's above our heads. I have several programs that will let you track it and other satellites and things, it lets you plane in advanced when their will be a pass over you're house. I use them to make contacts with them over HAMRADIO. when i first got my licence i once worked the MIR space station before they got rid of it for the new space station. now I'm trying to work the new space station. the space shuttle and space station both have ham-radio on board as a back up for the main communication. this last space walk they did was to install an antenna for one of the ham radios on board.
