    Ya know I just saw mine yesterday and was wondering the same thing. The foil tag right in front of it says "use Hyphoid oil #80" ??????

    It has 54,272. It is the original reddish brown color. Has the complete touring package and right before I bought it, the guy before me put new rubber on the wheels. Air Ride suspension works, as well as all accessories. Only has the tape player which works and the AM/FM radio. Brand new battery as well as starter. Here are some pics of it.

    May Get booed or even booted off the site. May be selling my venture because of my hands. I have moderately severe Carpel Tunnel in both hands. I had surgery in my left hand about 5 weeks ago and not much improvement. The bike is too heavy and I have almost dropped it on a number of occasions. It has the typical 1 gen second gear issue which I just go from 1st to 3rd. The bike runs strong, Idles great starts great and runs like a bat out of hell. It is leaking from the valve cover gaskets a bit. What would a fair asking price be for it?

    Hey Dave, Fellow Venture Rider here, Live on the Northend in Polaris. Not going to the Skid but would love to ride sometime. I still have a couple of week to heal from Hand surgery but sometime this summer would be cool.

    I may get boo'd for this but when I bought my Venture, I only paid $500.00 for it, Rode it home after push starting, Added a new battery and a used starter, has been a great bike ever since. Not trying to harsh any bodys buzz but I think asking price for a non working ride may be the non-selling factor.

    I hate to see a good Venture go it's seperate ways but if you do end up parting it out, I am looking for the vent insert for the right side engine cover.

    Does anyone know of someplace I can get the vent that goes on the right side cover? I can find a left side on Ebay (which I already have one), But my right leg is getting a bit toasty now that summer is here. Thanks Guys.

    I just sync'd my carbs and had the breather box out. Right under the battery, my connectors were corroded to beat the band. wasn't having any problems but if it had gotten any worse, who knows. Just saying that is a hard one to find if you don't have the breather box off.

    Thanks Earl for the comment on my bike, only paid $500.00 for it, and rode it to my house. That is an awsome link with pictures. with everyones suggestion, I should have it in know time at all.

    ok so when you say, now on right side match the Fwd Sync Screw (#4 Carb ) to the Left Side, is that matching #4 carb to #1 or #2 carb on the left?

    I am Syncing my carbs on my 85 Venture Royale. Got 1&2 dialed in and 3&4. Now according to the link here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=495 It says to then sync 2&4 on the first Gen which is what mine is. Now the problem is that #2 is pulling way more vacuume than 4 and I cannot even get it close. Anyone else ever had this and if so, what do I need to look at. Thanks Guys.

    Got an email back from him today, $69.00 for a set and it does not include new plastic locking rings. I had thought I read in a post here that some one got a set of 4 rings and just 1 diaphragm. (company error)?

    We have all been there, glad you lived to share this story. My Venture is my first Touring bike, Owned it for about 4 months now and still getting use to how much it weighs. Sometimes I look like a real goober when I pull up to a light trying to determin my center of balance.

    On my needles below the circ clip, I have a white spacer washer and a yellow one below that. I assume I remove both and just put the washers below the circ clip and the one above it?

    The guy I bought my venture from tried jump starting it the day I bought it. He fried the starter which I had to replace. I verified this by trying to jump it from the positive post directly on the starter. this bypasses your switches and relays. if you don't get anything, it's fried.

    is anyone parting out a bike or know where I can get slide diaphragms for cheaper than $65.00 each?
