Need Help to Purchase & Ship CB Parts
silverdeer0454 replied to Aussie Annie's topic in Watering Hole
This may or may not explain why Annie didn't get a CB with her bike. I am not sure when the change took place but for several European countries it wasn't until 2000 or 2001. For many years, countries around the world restricted the use of CB radios because many police departments used the same frequencies (27 MHz). I remember a friend from England who couldn't get a CB without a special license and the radio had to be modified to remove 2 of the channels. -
At least it's something. I do feel bad that you lost the camera and I now double check all the connections on my GoPro before I take a ride. I do wish there was a more secure way to mount these cameras on the bike. The only thing I have found so far is the use of zip ties to secure it to the bike but I haven't figured out a way to secure the camera to the mount.

Co-worker says...It might work if the other computer can actually read past the corrupted Windows files..Give it a try and let me know. I still have my old computer on the floor of my "Man Cave" and if it works for you then I might be able to salvage some of the stuff on my POS.

Just talked to my co-worker who is working on his Microsoft Certification. Windows is now corrupt on your computer. The computer itself is OK..it's just windows that is lost. When the computer shut down incorrectly (as with a power failure) it corrupted the system 32 files. In many cases the "repair" does not work. When you attempt the repair your cd drivers will disappear and eventually all you will get is the "Blue Screen of Death". Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You will need to reinstall windows. Here's the kicker....everything on that computer will probably be lost. The same thing happened to me and I lost hundreds of pictures, videos, and documents.

Here's the best video I have seen about putting car tires on a motorcycle. The guy used a video camera UNDERNEATH the bike to check the contact patch. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZKhoFbL7Fo&feature=related]YouTube - Darkside tire on the highway[/ame]

Dang!! That makes me want to double check all the thumbscrews the next time I use it. I use a zip tie to secure the suction cup part so it doesn't fly off.

Great Pictures!! The changing color of the leaves are awesome. And the picture of the 3 (picture #1) bikes look like an ad for Yamaha. Good job and thanks for sharing!! silverdeer

Hijack!! I think not! Just trying to keep the link alive until GoPro customer service gets back to ya! J/K...Just checked with my co-worker, who is working on his Microsoft Certification...It could be a codec error or missing driver. The puzzling part about a missing driver is that usually you can't download audio OR video, but you stated the video downloads but no audio. It's possible you may be able to download "Media Player Classic" the older version of the Windows Media Player. silverdeer

click on "Your Videos" Under your video you will see "AudioSwap" Pick a song and add it

I have Vista but didn't encounter any problems. The only "sound" issue I ran in to was getting notices from You Tube that I was violating copyrights by adding the music of my choice to the video. If you upload to You Tube you can use music they provide free of charge. It just puts an ad on your video.

http://www.goprocamera.com/faqs#6 - This is their web site There is NO SOUND when I playback the video… Well, do not be fooled…there should be sound. Are you using Windows Vista? Check the settings (it's a PITA) there are 2 settings for sound High and Low, sometimes if it's on Low, the sound is barely audible. silverdeer

Sounds like a plan! Maybe the road construction will be done on I-5 by then. On second thought, maybe not. But that won't prevent me from riding south to take a trip around Mount St. Helen's. silverdeer

Hey Randy, Thank You for the kind words, the pleasure was all mine. I have made another friend thanks to Venture Riders. Breakfast was good but the Atkins diet has it's drawbacks! I'll be happy when I get to my target weight! Glad the mufflers are what you were looking for and your right about taking some rides around the great PNW. We need to get the west coast as active as the "no-coasters" and east coasters because we certainly have some great scenery out here, can you say "Mt Saint Helens, Mt Rainier, Columbia River Valley, Leavenworth, Lake Chelan"...hmm makes me want to ride! Once again Thanks and I really enjoyed our conversation over breakfast. silverdeer AKA - Larry D

Thanks George! I'll be in the employee restroom here at work removing my eyeballs and washing them! I spent 20 minutes at Cruiser Customising and never saw these listed. I'll pass the info on to him. Larry D AKA - silverdeer

A friend of mine (who hasn't joined us....yet) is looking for chrome air filter canisters and can't find them. Any ideas? He owns a white 2005 RSTD and he just ordered the Khrome Werks pipes because he likes how my bike sounds. I already checked Cruiser Customising without luck. Any help is appreciated. silverdeer

Confuse everyone..Put Yamaha emblems on it. But seriously...A gift was given from the heart by a family to someone who has a heart, even tho it seems he hates to admit it sometimes. A special gift indeed to a special person. Disown you??? Nah, just shows the type of people who belong to Venture Riders and the passion all of us have for the two wheel adventure! silverdeer

Looks really good! Now to get one added to mine! -
Hey Denny, Welcome to the site! Actually there are quite a few members in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area that belong to Venture Riders. Problem is we are not as active here on the west coast (yet) as some of the no-coasters and east coasters, but we are working on it! We are in the EARLY planning stages for a Meet & Eat and Maint Day for Spring/Summer 2010 so we will see what happens. Once again Welcome to Venture Riders! silverdeer

My Dad had two stretch limos. He tried to sell one of them for $2500 and after 3 months "No Takers" he used it as a trade in for a new Chevy Aveo for my mom. Here's one of his cars. This one he kept. The other had a transmission problem and a bit of rust. Shame of it was they had to crush it. I understand what McBrush posted, (he got it from someone else) however not every dealership played that game, at least not the one my Dad dealt with. He left the dealership with a brand new American made car, loaded for just over $6000.
