That's why I mentioned Progressive. It's $1.00 a month extra for roadside assistance, to buy the insurance and not pay an extra buck a month is not what I would consider "forward" thinking. And you are right, many companies sell motorcycle insurance but do not automatically include roadside assistance you have to make sure and specifically ask if it's covered. Besides: Flo (the gal in the commercials) has a 900 V-Twin and she's kinda cute!

Who is your insurance company? Lots of times your insurance policy will cover roadside assistance. Not pushing Progressive Insurance but I pay $304.00 a year full coverage. $24.00 of that pays for roadside assistance. I haven't seen anything in the owners manual except that the warranty only covers repair of the machine itself.

Forgot all about the Littleton Diner! It looks like an old rail car and the food is excellent. Cool thing about it is breakfast is served all day. Try the Littleton pancakes, they are made locally at a grist mill.

I used Gold Eagle Tire Leak Stopper & Inflator because it's non-flammable, which is pretty important to the mechanic. I rode it around the neighborhood for about 10 miles and it's still holding. But...I'm not going anywhere until the dealership tells me the new tires are here. It will be a fun ride taking the back roads to the shop but I really don't think 20 miles at 70 - 75 mph would be a wise thing. Besides there are 46 more payments to go!

Just went out to warm up the bike for a quick trip around Camano Island. Not gonna happen....Flat rear tire! No way to jack it up and pull the rear tire and the ONLY dealership I trust is 40 miles away. I called them and the mechanic recommended a can of **forgot the name** so I went to the auto shop and got a can. So far it's holding so I'll let it sit overnight. I ordered new tires from the dealer and the bike will go in on the 1st of August for their "First come, first served Saturday maintenance" If it doesn't hold it looks like my buddy and I will load it up on his trailer. I believe it's the fuel pump(s) that make that clicking noise, especially when turning on the ignition key for the first time for the day. -
I had the same problem and it was the result of gripping the throttle too tight. Several people recommended different grips so I figured let's go the cheap way first. I was digging around the garage and found some foam pipe insulation. It fit over the throttle just right and it's easy on, easy off. It doesn't interfere with the brake lever because the foam gives way when I use the front brakes. Another issue reported by several members was carpal tunnel, that may be my issue as well but I avoid doctors if at all possible. Good luck in figuring out a solution that works for you.

The highest winds ever recorded on this planet were at Mt Washington. Make sure you take your camera, and extra clothes...a VERY good idea! Sometimes it can be wicked hot at the summit and an hour later your wondering why you didn't bring the Ski-Doo! I am pretty sure you will like the area. I miss the East Coast sometimes. Stop in Plattsburgh NY if you get the chance, great history in that area. I was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB (now closed) for 12 years And if your up that way you MUST visit Lake Placid! I have noticed that too on my 05 RSTD, but I figure it's the sounds of "raw" power! Of course the new Khromewerks mufflers that I installed 2 days ago make it sound pretty good! -

I really thought that our part of Washington state was pretty good about motorcycles and their drivers. But here is a story where someone riding a bicycle decided to throw his bike into the path of a guy (semi-famous actor) riding a motorcycle. It's a tourist area and prices are designed to break the bank. There is a Holiday Inn Express in North Conway, NH but chances are they will be in the $100.00 a night range. I have stayed at the Best Western Red Jacket Mountain View Resort. It's rated pretty high in quality but also kinda pricey ($129.00 and up) Take the Cog railroad out of North Conway and consider going up Mt Washington. Just installed them on my 05 RSTD. After installation I started the bike and............WOW!!!!!! It sounds awesome! Good smooth low tone at idle and as you go thru the gear it's really hard NOT to make it to the rev limiter! At mid to high RPM's it reminds me of the 70 Mach 1 Mustang that I rebuilt with a 351 Cleveland. Install was very easy and took less than 1 hour with basic tools and 2 beers. -

Could be the tires. I get that noise with right turns and Bridgestones.

They did fix the problem with a redesigned ejector and then factory mods to the 2nd (3rd??) generation. I haven't had any problems with mine but I did switch to the Hornady Critical Defense after getting it back from the factory.

I have a Kel-Tec .380 and a Kel-Tec P11PK 9mm pistol. The 380 is the lightest handgun available next to a single shot derringer. The P11PK is only a few ounces more and a bit more accurate. Not that accuracy matters too much because most confrontations take place at 7 feet or less. Bottom line: go to a reputable range and talk to others, try several different handguns and then make your choice. However the most important item: Hit the range often, perfect practice makes perfect. Another poster asked about crossing state lines. S&W .38 J Frame, ankle holster. And if deemed necessary my Keltec P-11 9MM inner left pocket of my leather jacket. The inner left pocket was modified by a great seamstress and lined with a thin leather sleeve.
