WOW!! But let's see him do that with a pair of Bridgestone tires! Then I would REALLY be impressed.

Great pictures! I especially like the house and the woodsy setting. BTW...Venture riders don't have large guts...We have "undeveloped muscle" or better yet. Why show off your "six pack" when we have kegs!

The whine, chirp, squeel, scream, generally means nothing. Damage isn't being caused except to your hearing. My ride is loud and hasn't become less noticable after installing Khrome Werks mufflers, heck even the mechanic said it was pretty bad. But it doesn't bother me at all. On another post about this same subject some one said "I tell people it's the turbo waste gate" That's the reason I give. Doesn't change the fact that this is the bike I have wanted my whole life. I can deal with the little things such as noise. My ex was much louder than this bike will ever be and I lived with that for 20 years!.

Good Grief Dray! Some people buy a party barge....But a party tent! Actually, if you got it so you can use part of it as a garage then you got a great deal!

chunky fingers caused the picture NOT to post on the first try. BTW---I Like Pike is the Pike Brewing Company, Pike Street Market Place Seattle Washington. Best micro-brewery I have ever been to...and their food is excellent!

Got the new domed decals in the mail today. LOVE EM! They are already on the bike.

After reading Freebird's reply and checking some previous posts about fuel smells, I decided that I'm going to learn how to work on the carbs..might as well synch them as well. I get leery about messing with the motor and stuff on a motorcycle because it's all new to me. But with the wealth of information provided here, I got to thinking- might as well learn how to do it. My main question was that I just wasn't sure if it was OK to run the engine like this for a bit longer without causing damage. I still have 45 payments to go and a couple more months of riding before the PNW monsoon season starts and a wife who would hit the ceiling if I did something to ground the bike for any length of time. Especially with vacation coming up next week and a trip from Camano to Neah Bay to Olympia to Moses Lake then back to Camano. Thanks for all the input! :thumbsup2:

Thanks Freebird! I'll take your advise and buy a carb tune. Now...If there is anyone with 100 miles of Seattle who would show me how to actually synch the carbs...I'll have a carb tune for you to use as well.

I know my 05 RSTD is running rich because it smells like an open fuel pit when I start the bike and I get an occassional "pop" when I shift gears, no smoke noticed at startup or at any other time. So far the plugs are not fouled and I am getting 40.5 MPG riding 2 up. (I'm 280, wife is less tham 1/2 of that). The bike now has 5500 miles on it Question is: Can a carb synch and adjustment wait for another 1000 miles or so? Or should it be in the shop now? Inquiring minds want to know.

Good Pics Annie! A very nice looking couple I might add. Hey Freebird, maybe we need a new forum page---Our Mugs

Weird. And kinda strange because I live on Camano Island and I have to ride thru Stanwood to get to and from work and I have NEVER seen that machine around here. Even tho the article was written in 07 I'm pretty sure I would have noticed it.

Good point Annie! But I ordered one anyways. I'll do a report on it after I have had the chance to use it for a bit. Of course at my age if it springs a leak people will just think "Poor old man, he peed himself" :rotfl:

Considered that as well, but until winter gets here it may just require the temporary fix. Besides I think if I send it now I'll have to ride on the frame and battery and the upcoming vacation trip might be uncomfortable!

The Butler mod would be the best option, but he would need to travel to the Great Pacific Northwest to do the mod.

Wondering if anyone else has tried this product or if it's a waste of $$. Not sure if picture of it will come up so I added the link at the bottom. Hydro Cushion $19.90 A unique cushion that combines air and water for ultimate comfort! • Cushion fills with air and water - never flattens like foam cushions • Relieves pressure and stress from the tailbone • Cushion can be drained/deflated for flat storage • Includes free plastic carry case Experience the comfort of an innovative cushion that supports you with both air and water with the Hydro Cushion. I'll second that! If your in the area take advantage of this HOT weather. Should set new records this week.

Thanks for your service and keep safe. Try to hydrate as much as possible. We are sympathetic with the temperature thing here. Possibility of 90 degrees today and 100 degrees by Wednesday in the Seattle area and we are not used to that. Even the factory air on my 05 RSTD can't keep up, at 80 mph it's just blasting hot air!

I purchased the motorcycle gloves at this link http://www.qwinerveprotector.com/MotorcycleGlove.html I will not endorse a product unless it works for me and folks....IT WORKS! I rode just a bit over 200 miles yesterday and my fingers didn't fall asleep and I usually only make it to the 50 mile mark before trying to find different positions for the hand or using the cruise control. I have pretty good size hands and ordered the XXL. They are a bit tough to get on but they are starting to stretch out just a bit. It's a good product and it's something I wish I would have found sooner.

Another view of the backrest. Special thanks to Mashley.

Checking the oil level
silverdeer0454 replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
excellent idea! I showed my girlfriend how to check the oil while I sit on the bike. Now I'm trying to convince her that I have to sit on the bike as she checks air pressure front and rear. The training is not going so well.
