  1. Not a bump...Just a reminder. For those headed to Leavenworth Washington for tomorrows M-R-E (Meet - Ride - Eat) Gustavs in Leavenworth around noon time. ( http://www.gustavsleavenworth.com ) Reservations have been made under the name "Venture Riders" First round of liquid refreshments provided by me and my wonderful girlfriend (who after 'much" arm twisting is going) See ya there. Temps low to mid 90's and clear as a bell! Larry AKA silverdeer
  2. Makes you wonder if Tiger Direct bought the name. Either way all their prices are good. I should check to see if their shipments come from the same address.
  3. I will always remember. I fly a 3X5 American flag on my motorcycle for 2 occasions: A Patriot Guard Mission On 9/11 every year. It's on the bike now and I have errands to run this morning. I wonder how many people will ask "Why are you riding around with that flag?" How soon people forget. Silverdeer
  4. We ended up with the better looking RSTD anyways. :stirthepot::whistling::stirthepot:
  5. I agree! LE can get his cell phone provider to assist in locating him. I'm sure they have already thought of that.
  6. Before you spend lots of $$$...check out http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/refurb/refurb_slc.asp?CatId=2372&category=GPS%20/%20Navigation&srkey=refurbished%20GPS Circuit city is back in business as a dot com. I ordered a refurbished Navigon, normally $300, got it for $99. I have not had a single problem with it. If the link doesn't work: www.circuitcity.com in search window put refurbished GPS
  7. I'm confused too...what if I don't have anything for sale?
  8. First off...Very good video! At first I was listening more to the music, something I don't have on my RSTD. The sound from the bike is what I would call the "whine". On the short version it sounds like you may have scraped the floor boards on the turn. I am saving up for the GoPro Wide camera, hope to get it for Christmas. Once again...I liked the video.
  9. Last shameless bump...I promise. For anyone that shows up in Leavenworth at Gustavs on Sat the 12th of Sept------ Reservations have been made under the name "Venture Riders". First round of liquid refreshments are on me! I'll be in Leavenworth around 10 - 10:30am. Larry AKA Silverdeer
  10. OK John...No problem. Bring what ya got! I even have some folks coming from the Tri-cities from Cruizercustomizing.com, not sure what they have! But it looks like a good collection of bikes will be there.
  11. I will be getting rid of the heel shifter on my RSTD as well. The problem is it will shift into neutral when I leave a stop sign or light. Maybe the real problem is the size 14 boots!
  12. [quote=GuthDaddy17;383554 I'll probable load her up just in case there are some nice days. I do look forward to seeing a part of the country that I've never seen before. It may get 110 degrees here in central Texas :scorched:but at least we ride year around. I have never stored a bike for the winter and cannot imagine living in a place where fair weather riding would be so limited. I'm sure there are many trade offs. How long are you going to be in the area? We might be able to join up for a ride on that side of Puget Sound. My girlfriend is a "Twilight" fan (the vampire movie) and Forks is just a short trip from where you will be and where I live.
  13. Thanks for the positive feedback, and you are right. Your were the only one to respond to the first attempt. Oh well, I'll just keep trying and it will happen. Hmmm...maybe a ride near the Sammamish Plateau in the spring?? It's a pretty area for sure.
  14. Good grief...If the Georgia folks can get around 53 for their M&E...Certainly we can do better! Time to get active in the Pacific North West before the monsoon season sets in and the days of warm weather riding are just memories. :stirthepot:
  15. Join us in Leavenworth Washington - Driving directions to Leavenworth, WA 329 km (205 miles) – about 3 hours 41 mins
  16. Carlsborg located in Clallam county may be in the rain shadow of the olympic mountains. Those mountains will sometimes block the rain, however, you can generally expect rain..possible Pacific storms because of its location. Temps...60's for a high early in the month..50's near the end. And LOTS of wet leaves on the ground! Slippery riding for sure.
  17. Another shameless bump so other WA riders can see this:confused24:
  18. I also have a problem finding a trunk for my 05 RSTD. Here is a link that looks promising because I don't think travel trunks are an option for our bikes http://www.mutazu.com/index.html
  19. Just "bumping" so more WA riders will see the post.
  20. Just noticed where Cheney Wa is...WOW. Thats a bit of a ride....so......Lunch is on me!
  21. http://www.gustavsleavenworth.com/ I'm thinking around noon or so. From their website: Gustav's is the most recognizable building in town, located at the "Y" intersection where Front Street forks off Highway 2. Gustav's is a no-frills burger-sandwich-and-salad place where you can cool your jets and wet your whistle sitting on our deck looking at the spectacular views of the mountains during the summer or warming up near our open fireplace with hot spiced wine during the winter after a long day of skiing. Gustav's entertains our customers with a menagerie of interesting kickknacks. From your seats, you can peruse a motley assortment of stuff ranging from old books to a canoe that sits in the rafters overlooking the second-floor dining area. Gustav's is family friendly and provides a variety of menu items specifically for kids. Gustav's carries 24 different beers on tap, most of which are microbrews, There are always three Leavenworth Beers on tap, plus the occasional German imports and a few domestics.
  22. I changed the destination in the first entry. Looks like Leavenworth for lunch!
  23. Actually I am so flexible I amaze myself! Whatever meal works best for you. It only takes me a couple of hours to make it to Leavenworth and I'll probably leave early anyways.
