Bill, I only live a couple miles from you and the early hour makes it bad for me at times. Even an 8 am start would be early enough to do a couple hundred miles easy. If folks are say 50 or more miles away, it makes it darn near impossible to get to your place in time for a 6am ride. I'm just sayin'.

Bill, Just registered for the rally. Will be two of us at the meet n eat too.

I have used the rotella 5w-40 for years on all my bikes. Never had any problem with clutch slip or any problem at all. I change oil at about 4k miles with a Walmart filter. Works for me.It's cheap enough that it's actually cheaper than Yamalube dino.

I put the showchrome shield on. Like to look over too. For sure more wind but not bad enough to go back to the barn door sized stocker. I do get more bugs too but that's part of the fun!

Dale mentioned a couple ideas to me at Bass Pro. I think I'll wait to offer those up though :rotf:

I figure that all the extra places we get to see is a bonus! Well except for the dead end gravel alley! It sure gives us plenty to talk about too! Russ, what can I say? I guess you just deserve more $hit than me! Love you bro!

Dee and I just got back a few minutes ago. Had a great time with old friends and new. Dee even thinks you guys are halfway OK . Good to get out but now I'm jonesing for warm weather. And I will be changing my name to wrongway. Thanks to all for telling Dee just how badly directionally challenged I am. She did have a good idea before this though:whistling:. Hope to see you all soon.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. I haven't been the best friend lately but I hate to burden others with what really is minor stuff. This entire episode has gotten me down, and I'm off of work so I don't even have that to distract me Quick replay of the story. 9/7/08 I dislocated my knee, fractured the kneecap and tore the ACL while playing..... kickball:confused24: who would have thought that a kids game could be so dangerous! At least it's a beer league so I was ready with instant anesthetics:dancefool:. A couple days before surgery, my foot became swollen, hot, red, and so painful that I could not stand it. ER docs gave me Dilaudid for pain and yes that works:thumbsup2:. Further consults and Docs decided I had developed a bone infection secondary to the injury. Now, I'm a nurse and realized there was no logical explanation to this but... so it goes. Got hospitalized for a week and been on antbiotics since then and for two more weeks still to go. Then will do more tests to see if it's healed, THEN I get to schedule surgery for my knee. So it looks like another 4-8 weeks of sheer boredom. I've had so many x-rays, MRIs, CT scans that my leg glows in the dark . Now, our secret, and don't tell the docs cause I will hunt you down! I have been riding! Not much, but damn it feels good:big-grin-emoticon:. So Thanks again, I appreciate everybody's concern. I love you all!

Up at Kitchener I was getting 40-45 while riding the routes all over. We weren't getting crazy and with gas at about $5.50 in Canada, I can see why. Now on the way home, on 401 and 402, it seemed to be a raceway and at 80 mph, I was being passed all the time. MPG for that run was about 35 ish. Not to bad loaded and flying low like I was. I would love to hit 50+ mpg but I like to twist the wrist too much

Hey Rocket, I hit Rugby last year on my way home from Ft. Collins via BC. A whole lot of nothing going on eh?
-
I like Arkansas as well, I have stayed at the hub before and they seemed to be a good bunch of folks. Excellent riding all over too. Essentially centrally located. Two Wheels Only in Suches Ga. is a good spot too but a little south and east for some. I wouldn't mind heading out west either but the thousand miles of flat, hot, nothing may be an impediment to some.

Thanks back at you who did all the planning, routing, prize getting, food arranging, etc etc. Along with some others here I know exactly the pitfalls that can occur. You guys did such a great job. Had a great time and it was fantastic seeing the great white north!

Lowell, be sure to stop by for a cup of coffee on your way out of Springfield! And don't pay no mind to Predock, Your spray painted pants are a one of a kind!
-
Like Goose, I never noticed any change riding at Ft. Collins last year, even in the 11,000+ feet in the National park. Just kept charging along like there was no difference at all from flatland Missouri.
-
Had mine up to 115 indicated (104 GPS) last year riding from Denver to Ft Collins. Still had more to go.

From what I can tell, 70 is fine through Mo. Next week may be worse though as cresting isn't expected until Saturday and later. If you do come through St. Louis feel free to look me up, stay the night if you want.

Hey Lowell, feel free to stop by here if you want, Waffle House is close by! I'm heading up there on the 4th of July with Chuck and Nancy.
