    Dan, That sounds like the way we will come. Real busy Thursday and no sleep (get off work 6am Thursday) So probably head to Indy Thursday. Like to take the less traveled roads Friday to Don's. Is your phone # still the same in your profile? Call you Thursday pm or Friday am.

    See you guys there. Got the brake pads in the trunk. Going to have some fun. Dee was asking about MD and I tried to explain all that happens but she will have to see it to believe it! Going to the rock n roll hall of fame Sunday, maybe a white sox game Monday. It's like a little vacation!

    We are going to be leaving from St Louis area Thursday on our way to Freebird's place for maintenance day. Anyone else going to be one the road in the area that day? We plan on taking 2 days, getting there sometime Friday. Let me know if anyone wants riding company.

    Lonna, this is a no brainer. WE ALL want cheesecake LOL! I broke a metatarsal in my foot this week and have a cast-boot thing to wear, but doc says ok to ride as long as I don't walk without it. So count me in for anything you make. Maybe have to do an all inclusive sampling!

    Unfortunately, all of our gas has 10% ethanol in it. The idle RPM seems to be ok or maybe even high but without a tach that's purely a guess.

    Hey Lewis, how about this; I went to the Podiatrist today for routine follow up after my infection from last year. I casually mentioned a pain I had been having in my right foot. Well after some x-rays, found out I broke my foot! Doc says ok to ride as long as I wear good boots and put on my splint as soon as I stop and walk around. What a guy! So maint. day here I come!

    I'm sure hoping you guys are right. The carb synch should help. She runs so well right now I can't imagine it getting better. Almost worth putting up with the backfire! Just hate scaring everyone around me

    Uhhhh OK. I am a mechanical idiot. I did run a couple cans of seafoam through this spring. Is the Floater Valve something I would even want to try to check without assist? I also had the thought that the choke (enricher) may not be fully closing but seems ok to me too. Not sure how to tell though.

    Ok folks. My '04 RSV has a bad decel backfire. Just changed collectors on both sides without fixing it. Also had AIS removed by Snarly Bill. Took it to the shop to look over, they said they didn't find anything to cause it. No exhaust leak (they say) only offered carb sync as a possible solution. Going to maint day so will have that taken care of then. The caps on the carbs look ok far as I can tell. Those who know me, know I am almost the most non-mechanical person here. Looked at all the other threads for backfire too. So anyone bold enough too step up at maint day and see if they can cure the beast? Or at least give me new ideas. Other than the explosive backfire, she runs great, gets excellent mileage, but does occasionally have a gas odor. This makes me think It's getting too much in there and blowing up on decel. But again, I really have no clue and don't want to mess with the carbs by myself. The challenge is out there! See you at Don's!

    LOL, I got it last year just before I jacked up my leg, hence the low miles. It's a great toy, but rather have the cash than the payments right now. Hey you got to do the po-ta-to, po-ta-to thing once in your life!
