Rear Shock Adjustment
Wrongway replied to vette8494's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Don't mean to question you, but are you sure that is in reference to the rear shock ? 0.5psi is ...uh...nothing more or less. I run 50-52 psi when 2 up and loaded but both of us are healthy mid westerners . I would hate to try and get 0.5 psi accurately into the shock. Check page 3-18 of the owners manual; soft=0 psi, maximum=57 psi.- 23 replies

Stuck Valve on 2007 Royal Star Venture
Wrongway replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Using premium gas is throwing your money away, and if you want to make the dealer squirm, ask them to show you where it says to use premium gas and to use fuel additives. This guy has made a fool of himself to 7,000 riders. -
I posted a Diamond R backrest for sale in the classifieds. Got a Road Sofa seat and it doesn't work together. Also for sale but not posted are Pillow top rider seat, pillion and backrest for sale, available at Squidleys.

Update for the gear for sale. Two pair of pants are gone, Fieldsheer and the Alpinestars, 2 jackets are also spoken for, the Hein Gericke and the ladies Phoenix. Still have a good ladies leather jacket, mens cool/cold weather jacket, chaps (maybe), three pair of textile pants, and three vests. Great prices folks! Get 'em while they're available!

It's holding up just fine. Looks great too. Glad it's on there, gives it that little something extra. Still love the bike BTW !

Don't know how loud the whine is, never had it in 56,000 miles. Do the driveline when I change the tire, previous owner had no problems and neither have I. Overall maintenance has been change the oil and rear end end every 3-5,000 miles, carb synch once a year, gas and go! Haven't done a valve adjustment, and never did on my 1st gen in 150,000 miles.

Just posted lots of gear for sale in the classifieds. Pants, jackets, vests, chaps. ignore the price of $2540 , I meant it to be $25-40 for the items. Posted in the riding gear section. Just cleaning out the closet. Shipping will be the actual cost from my house to yours. All gear in great shape! Thanks for looking!

I had the same thing going on before maintenance day. You could hear me miles away, sounded like a fire fight! Muffinman color tuned and synched the carbs and it fixed it!

Antenna 2nd generation

Don't say that you'll never use the CB. It comes in very handy when riding with this group. Lowell will talk your ear off ! -
Let me add that Allen and Patty are some pretty stand up folks. They came to the first Eureka Springs Rally, as well as donating big $$$ gift certificates for the attendees. The quality of their items that I have bought is second to none. Glad to know they will be there.

Amen brother! Glad he is alright. Could have been way worse. His angel was riding along with him.

I use a magnetic tank bag on all my long trips. Never had any problem with it holding, even over the cords. I do have a problem with the handlebars hitting the bag when it's full and expanded though. Just be aware.

Windshield and Ventilation
Wrongway replied to OldBear's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've switched off shields a few times. Just kind of pull up on the chrome strip, pops right off.Up along the windshield axis not out away from the shield. Be careful about the tabs they say. Never had any problem with mine breaking though. -
Diamond R is another one. Member here, supporting vendor as well. Stupid easy to install too.

One of the first things I did was disconnect the AIS. Well, Snarly Bill did. Maybe he was having a senior moment and left it unplugged

Thinking about it, no real plans yet.

It got about 99% better. Still happens once in a while but nothing like it was. Just had the collectors replaced too. Shop can't find an exhaust leak, no leaks in the caps or lines that I can find. I can live with it now though.

With all that Muffin Man was doing with the carb tune and color tune we decided to change out the plugs on my bike too. I guess once every 60,000 miles whether they need it or not. Old Hippy was able to find me a couple plugs in town, but I was short two plugs still. Hippy went around and found you at the carb tune tent with a couple extra plugs. You graciously let me have them, THANK YOU, but I forgot your name and I need to pay you! So either reply here or with a PM and I'll get you a check out ASAP! Thanks again, unknown donor, true VentureRider spirit!

I just got a Road Sofa seat at maintenance day. Wasn't really sure after the first day of riding home but when I got on it for the second day it seemed to fit just right. Hard as a rock but it felt good the rest of the way home, about 350 miles. There is a slight gap at the front of the seat meeting the tank.

I might as well jump in here too. Dee and I got home yesterday, After leaving Don's we went to Sandusky where a week long bike week was starting. Hung around there a bit then took back roads south and west through Ohio. Got into Indiana where we spent the night, then due to weather, we got on the big road and made it home. Thanks Muffin Man, bike doesn't scare off the kids anymore. Great to see all our old and new friends. Dee is trying to figure out a way to make the Skid-In or Mini-Ashville before the International Rally. Guess you guys didn't scare her too badly Thanks to Don and Eileen, Brad, Lonna, Goose, and all that did so much to make this a great time for all concerned.
