I'm not a computer wizz by any stretch. I'm much better with a wrench than a keyboard but, I've picked up on some computer words that "make me wonder". Could an exploding "cookie" be placed on a non-members computer so that on the 13th day it would disintegrate filling the hard drive with crumbs and disabling the "disk cleanup"? A warning of an upcoming chocolate chip disaster could automatically be placed on a "pop-up" that would give time for the user to "up-date" by sending $12.00 for membership. Should the non-member disregard the "pop-up" and the impending 13 day "cookie" doomsday occurs, $12.00 could be sent and upon recpt. an automatic "disk cleanup" could be sent saving one a very expensive house call ! "Makes me wonder" Come'on folks, $12.00 is only 3 Latte's and and a "whole cookie". Renne

It's a Harley, most likely a "125" but could be a "165", if you could see the cyl. head, the "125" had a slanted sparkplug (to the rear) the "165" plug is vertical. Another "givaway" Is the rubber band suspension a 125....Telescopic forks were later on the 165. Renne

Lower faring "clears" got me so intrigued that I took a look at my 'Mercedes" grey "08" "S" and decided,,,YEP,,,time to balance things up front! Thanks Dave for the inspiration. I removed my faring, removed the "clears" found a suitable metallic grey @ O'Reilly's and painted them on the inside......NICE,,,while waiting for them to dry I decided my passing lights were too close to the faring,,,,sooooooooooooo,,,,I extended them 1 1/2 in. and lowered them...while doing so I decided I'd like to show off my chrome forks more. I removed the wind deflectors. Then I removed the whiskers and put them on the tops of my bags.........YEP...I like it cleaner,,, Like I said,,thanks for the inspiration,,,next is to replace my "clear" turn signal lenses with amber to add some color....then,,,onanonanonanon............................ Respects, Renne

I took my "o8" in to have the light bar installed. During the process, someone had a solvent on the fingers and left fingerprints in my lowers! There was some denial but,,,, Was kinda funny in a way as no one wanted to fess up, I have a friend in crime lab who was willing to run the prints,,,,,,no contest! They were replaced right away! Sure was funny though! To answer your question, if you want them tinted, just got to your local auto store, get some sheet tint, stick in on and trim to shape,,,I think I'll even look into that! Sound like a good idea! Thanks! Renne

Didn't pick up on that #17 either Don, your an eagle eye! (besides, he's from Quebec, grace him) In keeping with our pledge to keep these forums bike related, I render this safety alert: Be advised, maintain an "extra" interval while riding this flu season! On occasion I have caught aromas of alcohol, marijuana, full diapers and terrible perfumes emitting from vehicles ahead of me. It stands to reason if a driver has the urge to sneeze, (an H1N1 sneeze), likely he/she will do so out the window of which you will soon pass thru! If you have had your shot, you may survive, should you have elected not to get your shot, you might as well turn around and go home. However, evasive actions can be called upon for those of us who have chosen to forgo the shot. I choose to be alert (sans the flu shot) and at the first sign of a sneeze reaction from the vehicle ahead of me I will trust my riding abilities to avert contamination by either braking hard (check rear view mirror), catch the exit ramp or pull over. Last but effective, hold your breath, drop to 3rd, wick it "ON" and go around, left or right, you choose. There,,,,,,,bike related! Renne

I'm a healthy 66 yr. old adult, I enjoy fruits/veggies/little meat (no red), I take liquid vitamins/fish oil/digestive enzymes and Ribose daily. I get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. I stress NOT! I take no prescription drugs. Don't smoke. Have not had a flu shot since the mandatory line-up in the Air Force (ret. in 82)....to add to my decision, I don't think I'll risk the shots after reading the following: http://www.PandemicFluOnline.com http://www.DrTenpenny.com Renne

I'm in my 3rd retirement, first from the USAF, then from a small business then hit 62 and took S.S. Every day is Saturday now, I ride, mow the grass, ride, wash the bike, the car, the custom '50'. I ride, I make garden art, planters, sculptures and other metal oddities and ride. I've added on to my studio, I ride, built an extension to house metal stock and ride. I've landscaped, painted the house, re-decorated the kitchen and cleaned out the basement twice. ANNNNNNDDDDDDD,,,,,,,,,,, I ride! When I can't ride (annual whiteout) I pout! Some leave the Labrador Retriever home for the day. They both like to ride in the back of a pick-up. Renne

Art, I paid $15 for a set at one dealership and $20 at another for a friend...drilled them out and we both really like the sound. I think the HD folks are catching on, I tried to score another set and the parts mgr. wanted more information as to what I was doing with them......Might be all of a sudden "they' have discovered a market,,,,we should be more discrete! Do you turn the fuel off...
Renne replied to yamadawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I guess I'm just "old school", shutting off the gas has been a habit since my first bike in "57". During my A.F. career, I had a number of bikes and there were times when I "fergot", (happy hour),,,,, I did have a float stick once, had quite a mess. Never wanted to take a chance after that. Renne -
Gas "on", choke out, fire-up, standard gear on, choke off,, "GO",,,,,,unless it's later in the season then,,,,Gas "on" choke out, fire-up, snowmobile suit on, plow driveway, choke off, "GO" Renne

I guess my concern is a weak lifter or one not pumping up immediately. My past experience with small block Chevy's caused a caution light to come on, I just don't want a "flat" cam spot or worn rocker so soon in the game. I know it'll bug me! Renne

I'm just shy of 3k on my new "08" RSV, did my oil change at 600. Twice now I've had lifter "tick" for a few moments upon cold start. Our temps here have been unseasonably warm, upper 80's and 90's, I ran 20/50 but am about to dump it and go to either 15/40 or 10/30 for the remainder of the riding season. Like I said, it's only occurred a couple times and quiets down in a few seconds. Concerns? Renne

I posted this on another thread earlier but with so many PGR members on site I thought I would re-post. Saturday, Sept. 19th the Mn PGR set a record for the longest flag line to date. U.S. Army Reserve Camp Ripley located near Brainerd Mn held it's annual open house, set aside it's helmet/safety gear reg. for the day. PGR riders began to arrive. A steady stream passed thru the gate as one by one, some in groups began to assemble. All in all, 1344 riders stood tall, flags waving, to honor our men and women in uniform. Beautiful! (Any takers?) 17th confirmed bird strike of the year
Renne replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Be careful!,,,,,very careful!,,,,if you take out an Eagle or Condor you might be facing international criminal charges,,,,(protected species etc etc)! Maybe if you were to modify those little deer whistles, say drill the holes a bit larger to sound like a big cat, install them with small clips high on your windshield..............................or.............maybe custom leathers made to look like a cat! Seriously though, I caught a LARGE beetle in the forehead, NOT FUNNY dang near knocked me OUT!,,,,,,can't imagine a BIRD! Renne
