Now this is interesting... Just pulled up the MN traffic code. This is what it says. Vehicular traffic facing a circular yellow signal is thereby warned that the related green movement is being terminated or that a red indication will be exhibited immediately thereafter when vehicular traffic must not enter the intersection, except for the continued movement allowed by any green arrow indication simultaneously exhibited. If that ain't as clear as mud... It has always been my understanding that you could not cross the traffic stop line once the turn signal has turned Amber. Surprised to hear that one can be ticketed for getting caught in the intersection when the light turns red. That makes sense though if the function of the amber is to give traffic already in the intersection time to clear before the light turns red. I belive the standard timing for the amber signal is 3 seconds. It can be extended for high traffic speed areas, but never less than 3 seconds.

No arguement on that one. But the question is, can you enter the intersection on an amber light?

I just finished doing a tech inspection on an alleged brake failure. The driver reported that the vehicle in front of him stopped when the traffic signal turned to amber. When he tried to stop, his brakes failed and he rear ended the truck in front of him. My question has nothing to do with brake failure. Rather, with the traffic laws in your state/province. As a general rule, amber lights are intended to give the traffic already in the intersection time to clear the intersection before the cross traffic signal turns green. So, Are you allowed to proceed INTO an intersection on an amber light? If yes, and you stop on the amber, will you be ticketed for impeding the flow of traffic? Also, if you can proceed into the intersection on an amber, what is the purpose of the amber light? Just idle musings here...

Great. You want me to wake you up, or just start without you? http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/lol5.gif So far it looks like it will just be the two of us. http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/emotions-smileys-free/deadhorse.gif http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/emotions-smileys-free/deadhorse.gif

With all the trailer building being done by the members here, this is another great resource for the family.

You and JoDee were definately a hoot to be with. Any chance you two will be at the Hobo Days in Britt? Enjoy to cruise.

Appreciate the thought, but it would have been a long way to come just for one day. Hoping some of the folks a bit closer will have some time to share. http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/emotions-smileys-free/deadhorse.gif Still planning on making Hobo Days. But if that don't work out, will see you at the Pork in the Pines.

Fleet Farm. The working man's mall. If Fleet Farm don't have it, you probably really didn't need it in the first place. Great looking carrier, and I bet it sure comes in handy.

I see you are in the Niagra Falls area. So, I'm going to go waaaay out on a limb here. I would be willing to venture (pun) that if you could stop by the International Ralley site you would probably be able to locate at least one or two folks with a Morgan Carbtune in their tool kit. But, I'm only speculating here.

Anyone ever built a teardrop camping trailer?

Weird Fuel Management problem
Black Owl replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Not sure what you mean by "foamed". Fuel will normally expand if the tank is left exposed to the sun on a hot day. I do a lot of testing on fuels, and given the density of fuel vapors, have never had gasoline foam. But, I can not think of any logical reason for the condition you describe. -
If anyone is available and interested in providing some assistance, we will be holding a work party at Gary's place to get ready for the 2008 Pork in the Pines. Primarily we will be building a new cooker for the hog. But there are some other things that need attention. We will be there next Sat, Jul 12, 2008. Hope to get started around 7 am. I realize that that is real early for some, but want to make a full day of it. So, if you have nothing else going on and would be willing to give us a hand, we sure would appreciate it. Thanks much. BTW: The on-line site is up and running for those who would like to pre-register. This will help us get an idea on how large a hog to order.

LED running lights?
Black Owl replied to Schlepporello's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Bob, You can replace the bulbs with the WLED x5 sold by Superbright see www.superbrightleds.com this is a 360 degree bulb. I installed them in my trunk guard last year and they work great. -
Front Fender Bumper
Black Owl replied to Ozark's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It should fit. If you get it, the first thing I would recommend is that you swap out the lamps with LED's. You can buy the LED replacement lamps from Superbright for about 3$ each if I remember correctly. -
May be a foolish question, but when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Sounds like you may be experiencing fuel starvation due to a fouled fuel filter. As for your other question. Carry a print out of the VentureRider Assistance list with you. Then, if you are experiencing a problem there may be a member in close proximity that can give you a hand. BTW: Where are you located in MN???

Oh, now that is one ugly image to imagine. Quite evidently you have not seen most of these guys without a T'shirt. UGLY...

Just a thought here. Might be someone coming up to the Pork in the Pines from MO. If you are coming dow to the Pork in the Pines this year, maybe a trailer relay could be set up.

Thanks. Any handling issues you noted with the CT on the front end?

Okay, I have been following the threads concerning installing a car tire on a motorcycle since the discussion first came up. One thing really confuses me. Even more so when we have questions raised about mixing tires on the scoot. So, my question is, "Why are they only running the car tire on the rear wheel?"

Believe me, after sharing a cabin with Reiny in Ft Collins last year, that is a sight you don't even want to imagine...
