Right back at cha.... Had the opportunity to spend some time in Wales a few years back when I was competing in the world archery championships in Cardiff. Great area and even greater people.

So Spear, One of those things I have always been curious about. Seeing as to how you are down at the bottom of the world, does Santa start at the hearth and go up to leave your Christmas geld on the roof? Insane minds need to know... And while your at it, hope you and yours have a great Christmas and an even better New Year.

Finally decided to check my mail yesterday and came back with one of the nicest surprises I have received in a long time. Gar (Grandpagak) and his lovely bride Ann (Grandmagak) sent me a copy of the latest book out on the life and times of Willie Nelson. The folks on this site never cease to amaze me and sometimes saying thank you seems so inadequate. But, as inadequate as it may be, please allow me to take this opportunity to publically express my thanks and appreciation to Gary and Ann for this great Christmas gift. Thank you so much. Russell

You can blame this weather on the recent US elections. you know what they said...... "When hell freezes over!" (Now folks, take the comment in the manner in which it was intended and lets not turn this into a political rukus?

This is absolutely horrible. Not one person coming to the aid or Brad.. Well, let me put on my Sancho Panza outfit and put an end to it here and now. How could I do less for Brad T. I mean, he stood against the crowd when the dastardly folks here pulled an end run on me just so they could chop off my tail feathers at Potato Creek. His was the sole voice crying in the wilderness about how unfair it was.... Ooops.. I just realized it was the other Brad (aka Squidly). And on furthe reflection, that voice crying it the wilderness was actually calling for shears.... Sorry Brad T. Looks like you're on your own on this one. And from what I read, rightly so....

Sweet bike. Bet your wife will love it. Several of us here own the 1100 Virago. Now, to answer your question... No. There is no accelerator pump incorporated into the carbs. Sometimes old habits are hard to break.... I have two friends here that are looking to by 1100 Viragos right now if anyone knows of any for sale at a decent price.

Boy Debbie, As you can see from the replies, with this crew you should really define what you mean by "wierdest". As for myself, I have one hard fast rule when it comes to food. I'll eat anything that don't eat me first. Used to say I would never eat anything I couldn't identify. However, after spending a couple of days at a Marine Fire base in 'Nam, I had to forsake that position or go hungry. Hot or cold, a jarhead will eat anything that lands in his mess tin. And they ain't too particular if it is even cooked.

Yah know, one of the advantages of guarding the gates of hell is that I can always get the Wiehnachtenmann to return to your house with a huge load of coal...

A beautiful piece. I guess we all have our favorite rendition of it which transports us back to another time and place. My version was done by Judy Collins, but id does bring back some hard memories. Back in another life when I was doing MedEvac, I would have it playing over the loudspeaker when we dropped in. Just our way of letting the guys know we were coming to get them.

See you folks on the 10th... And I will bring the professional restraints to make sure certain folk stay in line.....

Brian, I think your idea of moving the Meet and Greet around to different locations in Iowa is superb. As you state, that would give outstaters and opportunity to get together with the folks from Iowa. I was half joking when I suggested Clear Lake as a location because it would have been very easy for me, and your other norther neighbours to drop down and say hello. With 61 members in Iowa, I suspect that even if it was held someplace other than the "other place" that enough folks would show up to keep Iowawegian out of too much trouble. But, as she is already an outlaw (riding a Virago) that could turn out to be a full time job. The 10th works for me. No sure if a Sunday get to gather would be a wise choice as it would cut into some folks church time. Just my thoughts....

Bah.... humbug.... Going out to kill those poor, innocent little Bambi's.... All they are trying to do is find a nice, busy section at which to cross the road and you are getting all up in arms..... http://www.postsmile.com/img/winter/34.gif

Guess everyone is too busy to set a date right now. Don't know about the rest, but Jan 3 or the 10th would work well for me. Just a thought... http://www.postsmile.com/img/winter/22.gif http://www.postsmile.com/img/winter/27.gif

Geez Charlie, Didn't even think you could cross breed a St. Bernard with a ****zu... Must have been one difficult delivery for the little lady to throw such a large pup....

Don't know much about tires, but I seriously doubt if the failure is the result of tread seperation.

It's been about 3 years since I went down due to gravel in a curve that ended up putting me into the ditch. Took me a while to get over the apprehension of hitting gravel in a curve, but one does get over it. I think that was also a major reason for my downsizing to the Virago 1100. Going to the 1100 put the fun back in riding...

Greg, Since you got of topic here, figure I might as well just jump in and . I thought everything in England was boiled... But then what else can one expect from an island with such tasty dishes as Bubble and Squeek, Steak and Kidney Pie (heer again they need to boil the p... out of the lidneys) Hasty Pud, Trickle Pud... I will have to admit however, that you folks do some rightious Fish n Chips... as long as there is enough malt vinigar and salt to mask the taste.... And as for Scotland. If it ain't coated in oatmeal you ain't in Scotland.
