Boy, talk about no good deed going unpunished. Here I was, merely explaining to Squidly how magnanimus you were in wanting to share your prestegious award with some other deserving member and the slings and arrows start. Heck, you'd a thought I told him about how someone had to wake up from a full sleep and go out to ask a bunch of rowdies to tone it down so that other folks could get some sleep. But no, I never even raised that issue. Nor did I mention that some of us had too dawn the mantle of good will ambassadore keep the civilians mullified during breakfast each morning. And I never breathed a word of ...... :stirthepot:

Need your input.
Black Owl replied to Condor's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
John, Was experiencing the same issue with my 86 a few years ago. Turned out to be a leaking output drive shaft "O" ring. Replaced the "O" ring and the problem went away. Hope this helps. -
And here is one of those "new friends" that he seemed to be really interested in making. Good thing there were some of the more experienced folks :15_8_211[1]:around willing to step in and take the bullet for him.... :rotfl:

Now that's a homecoming queen candidate. If she runs, the voting will definately be tight.

Willie, What more does anyone have to say. Enjoy the show and be sure to give us a wrap up. Wish I was there.

Stu, Don't know about the rest, but for me, the pleasure of meeting you and Marvin was all mine. The memories one takes away from these events can never be replaced. We will definately meet again.

As much as I would love to take credit for the Chili, all I did was chop up the peppers and onion. Mike was the doer of the dastardly deed on the chili. And, if I didn't know better, I would swear that he stole my receipe. Want to thank Mike for the field repair on the Virago. Just goes to show what one can accomplish when they don't have to worry about their thumb being cold. :rotfl: But that's anouther story for another day.

Since 2010 will be the 5th year anniversary, will we be having a Home-coming Queen? If so, I know just the fella to recommendfor the honor....

Gotta watch that Lowell all the time, cuz he can certainly lead someone astray in a heartbeat. But I can asure you I would never do anything like that... And I tried real hard to keep Dane out of trouble.

I also became associated with this band of renegageds in 04. Can't recall my membership number but do know that it was well below 100. That was before I found out the folks in Ohio didn't know how to count and ended up getting robbed of my tail feathers at Potato Creek. Hey Don and Squidley... yah learned how to count yet???
-
Well, since you wouldn't let me and the Fat Tire write the paper for you, just glad the conversation helped. Mike, from what I can see, we still haven't heard from Stu, Marvin, UTAdevnture, the Preacher from CO, Dane or Iowegin.

Pictures? You took pictures? Well, I too have pictures....

Yah Mike. I'm home. Now just waiting to see which lies I have to deny. And a few (?) tales I may have to tell to defend myself. But for now, I will just say.... It didn't happen. And if it did, I must have been in the bathroom 'cuz I never saw it.

My vote would be for Potato Creek. Fifth Aniversary Home-coming. Back to where the rally's all started for this group. As we all know, one can make great riding whereever they are. I may even be able to get there on my bike... if I can keep it on the road and running long enough to get there. Or maybe just show up in the Venture Raner as I ended up doing the first time round. But this time Don can leave his scissors at home.... If it is going to be Potatop Creek, we need to decide soon so we can reserve all the cabins. Then the rangers won't have to keep coming by to protect the civilians from those other rowdies. Better get outside and find out why the Virago isn't getting any gas.

His powers are unlimited... Weddings, divorces, banishment, engine shut down, lawn mowing, and don't you forget it....

Looking for the chrome fuel pump cover for my 92 Virago 1100. So, if anyone has one for sale or has a lead on one, sure would appreciate it.

Okay... here is our plan so far. I will be hooking up with Gary (Grandpagak) and Paul (Rocket) in Olivia, MN on Saturday. We then head out on 212 west to US90. Then US90 into Cody. Absent breakdowns or weather delays, we should be getting in sometime Sunday late afternoon. We hope to hook up with Mike (Mikealiasmike) and Lowell (Wildhair) somewhere along the way. If anyone else is taking 212 and would like to join up, please feel free to contact me or Gary. Otherwise, will see you all when we get there.

The possibility of a wedding was raised at breakfast Monday. Might be the only way we can get Freebird to come out for the festivities . If/as it starts to jell more information will be posted.

Mike, There is a real simple way to make sure that those in attendance at the PIP won't abuse you. Bring JoDee with you next year. She does such a good job of abusing you that we would be to engrossed in marvelling at how well she does it that we wouldn't have time to abuse you. :rotfl: But then, you have so much that deserves abuse that we may just have to help her as the opportunity presents. :stirthepot:

Yeah, for those that have to leave early, they usually miss out on some of the more "interesting" happenings during the wind down. And here's an even better idea. Lets get Freebird to look at the pictures to see there really is no snow in northern Minnesota at this time of year. Then maybe we can twist his arm to show up next year.

Just wanted to add a few additional comments concerning the 2009 Pork in the Pines Pig Roast. First and foremost I want to thank everyone that was able to make it this year. Even though Freebird couldn't make it, the final headcount was 42 great people in attendance. Without you folks, this would be just another dead hog day. We couldn't have asked for a better week end. Warm, sunny days for riding and dry cool evenings for sleeping. At least for those of us that tried to get some sleep. For the rest, it was dry cool evenings for sitting around the fire, "talking" (read swapping lies) and enjoying the great company and a few adult beverages. Was great to see old friends, talk about old times, and make new friends who ran more than a few miles to make this year the best PIP to date. Hopfully, Freebird will be able to arrange his schedule to be able to make it next year. For those that may not have heard, Dan (stardborg) has a Venture. He also has a new girl friend. :rotfl: Apparently Dan made a great impression on her as she spend most of yeaterday just wandering around the pasture with her head hung down. Either that or see was grazing. Really want to thank Rick Stempel, from the law firm of Stempel & Doty and John Pagels with Pagels Engineering, for graciously sponsoring the breakfast Saturday and Sunday. If anyone would like to personally express their thanks, yoiu can do so at Rick@Stempellaw.com and jpagels@pagelsengineering.com as without their sponsorship the breakfasts would not have been possible. I would also be greatly remiss if I did not acknowledge the folks from the Backus Meat Locker. Not only did they once again make sure we had a great guest of honor, but they went out of their way to make sure we didn't have to make a return run to pick him up. I was a bit late (okay 4 hours) getting on the road Friday morning, and they stayed open 2.5 hours past normal closing time to allow me to pick up the hog. For folks like this a simple thank you just never seems to be sufficient. And even though it has been said before, thanks Gary and Annie for putting up with us and opening up your home and property to ensure that things come off without a hitch. And next year I promise to put up the tent To Kris for again foregoing the ride to do a another superb job cooking the guest of honor. To Wil and Lizbeth for their efforts on putting together the web site (www.porkinthepines.com) and getting up early to help prepare the breakfasts. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Steve (Eagleeye) for the best beans I have tasted in a long time and for the help in getting the chili ready. Even if we did have to cook up a second batch by the time everyone was finished having "just one more small sample taste". And to Mrs Bubber, even though she would not share the recipe for the Butterscoth bars. And once more to everyone that turned out. You guys/gals are the greatest. For those who are considering coming next year, the 2010 Pork in the Pines Pig Roast will be September 3 though 6, 2010. There is also a rumor that there may be a wedding at next years event. Now how cool could that be. Okay, I have rambled on long enough. So I will close by saying that next year the Viagra Viagro may even get off the trailer.... :bang head:

Well, here it is 10:30 and I still need to load the VentureRanger for the trip north. Did get all the grocery shopping done and the back of the truck is dragging dirt. Just to let everyone know, Stardborg and Red1 are on their way to the PIP. Still haven't heard from a few others that threatened to show up. But we live in hope. Better shut this down and get ready to hit the road. See ya'all in a few hours.

Stop drinking all that water and you copuld probably sleep until at least 4am. Annie, you still have time to grab a flight to Bemidji. We pick you up at the airport and you can spend the week end with some of the greatest folks in North America (and Juggler :rotfl: ). Heck, even Red1 is threatening to show up again.

before I can put aside all the crap and head out for the Pork in the Pines. Promise to have enough fun for those who have found themselves in the position where they are unable to make it this year. Just heard the weekend weather forecast. Couldn't ask for better weather. We must be living right. No rain, temps in the 60-70's F during the day and 50-60 at night for those who feel they need to sleep. And Bubber's comments above couldn't say it any better. And for those who have come tho this thread for the first time... if you want to spend a weekend having the most fun one can have with their cloths on (well at least some keep their cloths on) check it out at www.porkinthepines.com See ya'all in two days.
