    I dont have any trouble with the carbs but if it sits in the string trimmer or the chain saw, ethanol likes to eat the plastic hoses in the fuel lines. Ive replaced these a lot.

    Sorry for your loss. We put our old cat to sleep two weeks ago, he was 22 years old and with me me being the tough guy, I thought I could take it to the vet, needless to say when the time came I couldn't do it and the great wife that I have took him. She emailed me a poem later that day to me and our kids that helped us get through it. If it should be that I grow weak and pain should keep me from my sleep. Then you must do what must be done, for this last battle cannot be won. You will be sad, I understand. Don't let your grief then stay your hand. For this day more than all the rest, your love for me must stand the test. We've had so many happy years, what is to come can hold no fears. You'd not want me to suffer so. The time has come, please let me go. Take me where my needs they'll tend and please stay with me until the end. Hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see. I know in time that you will see, the kindness that you did for me. Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I've been saved. Please do not grieve it must be you who had this painful thing to do.

    Great response from that dealer. I had lost two of the bolts that hold the chrome rails for the sadllebags and my local stealer told my that they would be 2.50 apiece. I asked if they could be covered under warranty? He says he never heard of bolts being covered under warranty, too bad it would have been a cheap way to keep my buisness!

    Can't say anything about 1st gens however the 09 handles WAY better than the 82 wing I had, the sidewinds would really lay me over. My 09 stands pretty straight in crosswinds.

    Just recieved my second set of Avon's from Jake Wilson last week, haven't mounted them yet, I was trying to get the last out of my Avon's that are on the bike now. I did have little cracks on the front I was not very concerned about. the new set that just came is dated from late in the year 2009. I love my Avon's and can't wait to get the new sneakers on the scooter.

    Just ordered a set from Jake Wilson, 259.00 free shipping and a 50 dollar rebate from Avon, I'm happy:thumbsup2: Last set had a few tiny cracks on front tire but nothing bad enough to make me worry about the tire, and I love the way Avons handle. I think maybe somone already said this but the rebate comes from Avon.

    At least one of those tubes are a crankcase breather tube and if the oil was ever filled up to max you get a little drip now and then out the tubes. I even get drips when the bike sits out where its windy, like the wind is sucking it out by blowing across them, when i park in the garage nothing, and I watch how much oil I put in very carefully now, never going above half way up the sight glass.

    I've got about 15000 on my set of Avon's now with another couple thousand left I hope. I run mine at the max sidewall pressure, 46 and 50 if I remember correctly. No cracks on the rear tire but lots of fine little cracks on the front sidewalls, however not real worried about it, I don't see any large cracks anywhere. Got another question though-- all this talk about Avon and the cracking problem, has anyone had an Avon fail or blowout?

    Okay I'll add two cents, those are some of the best looking seats I've seen on a Venture. Hope they sit as good as they look! Wish I could find a tank bib in black just like that one.

    First welcome to the forum. I'm not the best source for info here, but I'll pipe in with my two cents worth. Ive got an 09 and after each winter I get the rough running engine when I first start out each year. I see youve got an 07 with only 3500 miles so I bet yours has been sitting around a lot also. First tank of gas in the spring i dump in a can of SeaFoam, go out and drive it like I stole it, then fill it up with fresh gas and all is well again. last spring I replaced spark plugs, did a carb tune and the SeaFoam thing and it ran better than new.

    Just my two cents, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I see no reason why an officer can't stop any motorist that is running any vehicle they think is not safe or a driver that is not sober. That being said, I still think they need probable cause to stop, inspect or harrass any one. I know i'm in the minority but I have a problem with the supreme court ruling that road blocks are legal. Would it be okay if they stop only sports cars? how about if they need to stop only blacks or if we strech this to its end, how about if they need to check out all ranch style houses. I think the founding fathers might have a little trouble with road blocks. Yes I understand, having been a comercial driver for twenty-five years, inspecting commerce is a whole different animal. Someone on this forum has a signature that sums up all my feelings pretty well, it says something along these lines--- A goverment big enough to give you everything you need (and big enough to make you always feel safe) is big enough to take everything you have away. I'm hoping this isn't too political, sorry moderators.

    I've got two of the Scorpion exo100's, I love it, flip down sunshade works good, and the zip out ear flap "thingy" (technical term) is great when it starts to get hot. Can't beat the amount of air that goes through it. They do have a place to insert ear speakers but you would have to leave the zip out "thingy" in place. I believe I paid 109.00 for each of mine from Comp. acc.

    The link worked for me. I also got a quick 60 miles in after the rain melted all the snow and washed the salt off the roads in central illinois also.
