this is an email i got from paypal "You have received a PayPal Payment of $3,960.00 CAD from ***************************************** A temporary hold has been placed on this transaction! As mentioned in the receipt of Payment and as per New PayPal Payment policy, we have fully debited the total amount (above) from the buyer's account which includes the buyer's shipper's pick up fees. In order to complete this transaction and get the funds approved in your account. We advice you go to nearest Western Union Office, and send the $960.00 CADto the Agent and send us a Scanned Copy/Photograph of your Western Union Transaction Receipt (in .JPG Format). NOTE: This is important as a security measure to ensure safety of this transaction." Also I have never heard of any company that only uses westerin union as a payment option.

Hello, I need some advice, I am selling my 1985 Yamaha VR 1200, I am asking $3000 firm. A person emiled me and wants to ship my bike to Sounth America but to do this he has sent me $3960.00 via paypal. This $3960 is on a hold till I make a $960.00 payment through westerin union to the shipping company with my OWN MONEY. Do you think this is scetchy? From the guys trying to buy my bike: "Before i make the payment, there is something i need you to be aware of,i just received an email from the shipping company that will be in charge of the pick up.They are saying i need to pay them their fees which is $900 before they proceed with coming for it and the only form of payment that they accept is Western Union Money Transfer.Where i am,the nearest union office is 8hrs where i am overseas,I dont know if it will be ok,if i include this agent's fees in the payment i will be sending you now,so on receipt of the total funds, you will remove the additional funds of $900 and help me send it at your local Western Union office.Let me know if this is ok and i will proceed with the payment." shortly after this email, I didn't even get back to him yet and he already put the $3960 into my paypal. I feel he is sort of pushing me into the situation where I have to make the $960 payment(with my own Money) to a shipping company that I do not know and the shipping company picks up on Sundays?. I do not not how W.U. works but i know how paypal works and i know with few clicks of a mouse that $3000 could be back in there bank. Any input will be greatly appreciated, Brendan

startup check list problem
BigBMattie replied to BigBMattie's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I found my problem for the gas light, There was a vary lose female connection on the top of the fule level sensor, I replaced it with a new one and gave the male side a light sand and now my gas light dose not come on and my take shows full, witch it is. I also took out my battery and put in back in abut 5 min later and my battery light seamed to fix itself. There is only 2 small problems left on my bike, the highbeam light and headlamp light do not want to work. Both bulbs are good, Must be a bad connection I plan to have fixed by the end of the week. The headlamp light has never worked for me so I am not 100% sure on the use of it. Thanks, -

soldered the solder joints for the checklist plug this today. It now runs through the checklist fine, but now the batter light comes on and the gas light still comes on. -
Today I started fixing the one last thing that dose not work right on my 1985 VR, The gas light/guage & warning light always says that there is no gas. I took apart my front screen and everything to get at the back of the main console to clean the plugs and conections. now that everything is pluged back together the start up check list dose not come on and it will dimly flash upon key turn. Thanks,

The big white plug seams to be in good condition no rust or anything from what I can see. I have let it sit in ACC mod to let the POST run mabey 10 min and the screen will not change. I took out the CLASS box, took it apart to look at the solder points on the board and they all seam to be in good shape. Also dusted the board with a horse hair brush. Thanks, -

Hey, I am getting my dads old bike, a 85 VR1200 and I am in the getting it ready for the summer and what not. I'm all most done but I just really hate the sound of it with the stock mufflers. I was asking around all the car guys around school and they said I could put straight pipes right off the chamber instead of the stock mufflers. Just wanted to know If this is illegal, and I don't know what it is but one guy said something about it would mess up back pressure? Thanks, BMattie
