Here's ya go... http://aloeveravera.info/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/aloe-vera-gel.jpg Just slather it on thick, and feel a lot better.. Any brand will do...

Yeah.. I've been watching it pretty close. We're using James River Runners, and I just talked to them yesterday... They will still have their camp grounds open, so we can still camp. The river is down to 6.25 feet today, and they won't go until it's down to 5.5 feet, so it's getting closer. They did say they may take everyone to another part of the river if it's better there.. We might float.. might not... but we'll still be out camping and riding some great back roads.

Is my 2007 Midnight Venture still a Midnight ?
similost replied to Hummingbird's topic in Watering Hole
Another way to look at it... I took the Roadstar badges off the tank of my Roadie, and put Wildstar badges on it.. which is about the only difference between the European version and the American version... The name and the badge.. so what do I ride now... A midnight is called that because of the paint supposedly.. so what happens when you change the paint..... I think you got a Venture, and I've got a Wildstar... just because we both changed the things that give them their name. -
From the way I read it.. that's the price of the tires, removing the wheels, and mounting and balancing... For all the work it takes to get the wheels on and off, and several hundred for tires, I would say that doesn't sound too far out of line considering the time in labor. Shops don't like to work for free... Time is money.

I'm getting outta the DC area because of the ride to the wall and tragic traffic Memorial weekend brings to the area.. Done it a few years, and that was enough. It's a madhouse.. SO.. loading up the trailer with all the camping gear and attaching it to the bike.. Heading to Scottsville VA and camping on the James River. Gonna float down it Sunday... Take a ride Saturday to Scottsville and visit the Dew Drop Inn, and then head over to Schuyler VA and see the Walton's house.. Nothing real special for sightseeing, but a lot of really great back roads, good camp food and beers, and a river and wildlife for music..

Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn - Chrome
similost replied to TEW47's topic in Watering Hole
If you removed the stock horn, will these horns fit in their place if you made a bracket for them? No way I could mount mine where you did.. my wife wouldn't be too happy about that.. -
That's nice.. I really like the way the colors match the bike too.... My wife is really great about packing for bike trips.. I usually end up packing more stuff than she does... This trailer will probably solve that though...

LOL.. I promise you that will be on it Saturday morning.. Taking off for camping and a float trip on the James River for the weekend.

Drove to TX to get the trailer, Bought the bike, made the hitch, wired the bike, rewired the trailer, and tonight was the first night of getting them together. Basically about a 2 month process... IT'S DONE THOUGH!!! I was surprised at how well it pulled.. ..

Good luck finding a place to change out the tire for you. Some places may, but at a very inflated price... It's kind of like taking your own eggs to a diner and askink them to cook them for you. Shops make money off parts sales, very little off labor. I worked for a small engine shop and refused to change a tire if someone brought their own in.. If they bought it from us, I'd charge $5 to put it on the rim.. You could always try changing them yourself.. It's really not hard. If you can get the wheel off, you are well over half way there..

Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn - Chrome
similost replied to TEW47's topic in Watering Hole
So true.. and that is something I had addressed on my Roadie when I put the air horns on it... Ran larger wire through the complete horn system. Worked out great.. Will probably do the same for the Venture, because I plan to run two horns on it... I figured though, so long as the bike was running, and the wire thick enough, it shouldn't be a problem with enough current... -
What a very cool tune.. I also found a lot of others there, including this one with Bono singing.. Not sure if you realized, but the videos come from this site.. http://playingforchange.com/ I've shared this with an audio forum I've a very active member on.. I'm sure all the guys there are gonna love this...

I would think if you ran two horns, and used two relays, you should be OK, but I think if a person were to run only one relay, you would get into the situation you are describing... BUt I've been known to be wrong too... -
New Speakers

Actually.. theese Baffles (never heard them called boom mats) are not for redirecting sound. There is no way for the waves being produced behind the cone to physically get in front of the cone... What these baffles do is load the driver. It actually alters the cone movement, and allows more bass to be produced. -

Same thing with me.. I use a Storm with Pandora and it wasn't hardly loud enough so I got one of those ratshack battery amps too.. -
I just built my own hitch.. a hidden reciever.. I took off the bar the runs under the fender, then welded a square tube to it running vertically upwards into the fender. Then on the tire side of the bar, I welded a plate to the bar, then further up on the square tube for support, and also for a place to attach the chains to. Then I built the reciever using a smaller square tube that fits into the tube on the bike. Welded a flat plate to that which the ball mounted to.. slide it up into the bike and install the pin... Once I remove the ball you can't tell there is a hitch on the bike. Nothing hangs below the OEM bar that comes on the bike. It's a little bit of a pain to get the pin in, but not too bad. Worth it to me to have everything completely hidden.

The problem isn't over powering the OEM or the Polk speakers. The problem is the amp clipping... You push an amp too far, and the signal starts to clip, and starts sending a lot of DC current into the speakers, hence distortion... The reason I was asking about the efficiency rating is, because a speaker may take 45 watts peak, but they may only be rated at 89/w/m efficiency... which means with one watt, it will be 89db loud at 1 meter... SO.. it's possible for a higher rated peak wattage speaker to not play as loud as a speaker rated at 15 watts which has an efficiency rating of 94/w/m I'm not so much after loudness, as I am after a better sounding speaker which is why I wanted to try the Polks.. If I want louder, I know I'm going to have to add an amp.. -

I just ordered some of the Polk 401's myself, but be warned.. they have been discontinued, so you may be waiting for a while on backorders.... I'm looking for a place that has a set in stock so I can order a second pair. (at a decent price) -
Important: check this out if you have a Yamaha locking gas cap...
similost replied to Blackjack's topic in Watering Hole
You'd be surprised at how many people wouldn't think twice about that... I knew a guy that used a Bic lighter to try and look into a 55 gallon barrel of lacquer thinner to see how much was left.... Afterwards not much of the skin was left on his face, hands and chest... Anyway... Thanks for the tip.. I'll be checking both my bikes this evening...- 37 replies

OK.. yeah, hasseled was a bad choice of words.. they created their own problems.. Red is OK on the back, but the cops don't like them lighting up the whole bike.. for obvious reasons..

Sorry.. I'm not gonna make it.. I live in VA now.. I used to live in Belleville IL, and rode out there a few times to the dealer.. Can't remember the name, but did the appreciation day once... Was looking at the wings and thinking on it.. took me 5 years to decide to get a dressed ride.. went with the venture.. .. that would have been about 5 years ago.. .

Is that at the big dealer there in Litchfield that sells a lot of wings and Yamahas?...
