Seats are so subjective, like windshields, what works for one doesn't work for others. I like the pillow-top (stock) on my Venture. It is probably the best stock seat I've ever had and it is good for 500 mile days. At 700 miles it's time to get off it. I've had Corbins on my other bikes and although better than most stock seats it is not good for an all day ride. The best seats I've owned are Russell Day-Long and have done 1,000+ mile days in them. Although, I doubt I'll be doing many more of them as I get older. I try to keep it between 500-600 miles now. I have no experience with Mustang. I have found that you can't judge a seat by sitting on it. You have to put several hundred miles on it to tell if it works for you. I have bought seat upgrades, factory gel seats, touring seats, etc. In the past I have bought an average of three seats per bike till I found one that worked. Now if stock don't work I go right to a Day-Long.

+1 With Triplett being second (my opinion) I just (last week) bought this one at Fry's for $24.99 to carry on the bikes. Main reason was the enclosed hard case.

I have these Custom Dynamics "Quad" LED License Plate Frame w/ Red Sides Top/Bottom LEDs can be running/brake installed on my V-Star 1100 and they work/look great. Each LED strip has 3 wires so it leaves a bundle of wires at the plate. However, I opted for the Harley bracket on my Venture. Been looking at Tach's for maintenance work. I would like one that works with both the Venture V4 and V-Twins. This is the only one I've found that will do from 1-12 cylinders. It also provides three means of connection(s). What type of ignition system does the 2004 Venture have? How about an 2005 V-Star 1100. A Multiple Spark Ignition System orDirect (coil on plug) Ignition System This is the Tach I'm thinking about. Will it work? I like the Inductive Pick-Up on Spark Plug Wire for maintenance work. Thanks in advance.

I guess it depends on what you want to spend. But a good scanner that will do most anything a home user would want would be an Epson Perfection V500 Photo for about $249. This is the entry level for a Digital ICE and D4 technology scanner. The next price level is over $500. I would suggest cleaning the slides first with an Anti-static film cleaner using Pec-Pad lint free wipes wearing lint free gloves. I also wipe my slides with a low radiation camel hair brush to anti-static the film. Whether it be a slide or negative it takes me about 45 minutes each from clean scan fix final save.

Type II also. Now off the meds. Biggest thing as previously stated is a life-style change. Exercise, drop weight, eat right (and often but smaller). Follow the diet learn how to substitute (fruit for candy) watch the starches (potatoes, breads, rice etc). It's very workable and easy once it becomes habit. At first it's ruff and you'll think you can never get it right, but you will. Study foods and read labels. I always carry Kellogg's Nutri-Grain bars to carry me over between meals so I don't eat large meals and to keep my readings level. I now only stick twice a day (morning fasting, evening 2hr after dinner). Mornings I'm 125 (down from 250) evenings 150. This gets harder to control the older you get. Eating out is hard. At first I thought restaurants were all out to "kill me" because you could not know what/how they cooked. But you learn the food and how it's prepared. You learn what to watch out for. Veggies are your friends in all cases. Only difference in my riding is I'm more cautious in what I eat and drink while I ride (no longer in my own kitchen). This is more difficult in the hot summer. I don't know what your numbers are nor how far along your diabetes has progressed. I wish you the best, good luck.

It's kind of a pain to get to the bolt that mounts/moves the lamp housing behind the lamp. No science here, I just snugged the lamps down where I could move them but they wouldn't vibrate loose. At night I drove down a side street with no traffic. Taped a round piece of cardboard over the headlight, moved each passing lamp beam where I wanted it, removed the cardboard. Drove home, removed the lamps to tighten down the bolts.

You thinking about doing this on the Venture?! I have on my bucket list Copper Canyon but on something like a KLR. I would think a Venture would be very conspicuous. We've been to a number of the smaller boarder towns (walked across). Suppose it's a mute point for me though, my wife won't allow it, that and hang gliding.

I have them and hate 'em. They are OK for around the house type stuff. But not for any work that requires you to see what you are doing. You have to point your nose exactly at what you want to see clearly. Try doing carpentry work, every 2x4 you look down is curved. Try working on your car/truck/bike where you have to look out the corner of your eye, it's distorted and hard to find the bolt hole on thread on the nut. Try doing paper work at your desk comparing two contracts line by line. You can't just scan back and forth you have to move your head back and forth. I have a pair of bifocals that I use at the computer where the top is screen distance and the bottom is reading distance (12"). I also use these when doing any mechanical work. I have another pair of bifocals that I use for driving where the top is for distance and the bottom is to see the dash. I really need trifocals but the eye Dr said to try the progressive first, I did, I don't like.

+1 I have these are well. Best all season all around pant I have found. I previously owned a pair of mesh, a pair of non-mesh with winter lining and Frogg Toggs for rain gear. Now I just use the Flex 2.

As a kid in the 60s I had a 250ED Enduro (dual sport) orange, I think all Hodaka's were orange in color. Did I get in trouble with that thing. Always being chased by the police. I would just cut across a field or someone's yard thru the woods. I was surprised one day filling it up at a Phillips 66 and the police pulled in. They knew who I was, where I lived. He told me to keep it off the street until I got a license and don't get hurt. It was two cycle, did have a compression release and was bullet proof. Years later I sold it for a Suzuki. Sorry can't tell you about parts, they quit making them years ago and the company went under.

+1 But wait till they go on sale which is about once every 6 weeks. $100 will get you more tools than you can carry on your bike.

I dunno, Looks kinda sparse to me. The Can-Am Spyder is made by Bombardier Recreational Products a top notch engineering outfit.

Which spark plugs to use

+1 but was chastised for doing so as a waste of money. My thought was to change them as little as possiable since you have to remove the "bog bones" to get the the front plugs. Good for like 60k miles. Works for me. -
The "new company" just don't get it. If she has industry specific skills what do they think shes going to do? She well get hired by the competition and they will have to compete against her with their minimum wage low skilled (but low cost) workers. Corporate America needs to wake up. Who do they think will bring in the dollars to pay all them million dollar execs if they continue to abuse the "working man"? They are also fostering the raise of unionized workers. I'm not talking about specific unions, I'm talking about European unions, where the entire work force population is covered by union laws.

However, it will hold 1000 waypoints. So, you can manually enter your route by going from waypoint to waypoint essentially over riding the fastest/shortest time options. Using Mapsource create the waypoints you need then save them and upload them using the POI loader. Once on your trip, select each POI (waypoint) in order to stay on your selected route. It will take some time to do this but it works. It will help if you name each POI in order ie. FL01, FL02, FL03, etc See page 46 of your manual.

But on the bright side, we haven't had a "hard freeze" for several years. We need it to kill all the bugs. So, this is really a good thing because less bugs means less windshield cleaning and more time to ride. Too bad we can't store some of this and let some out in July and August.

That's the price $999. Guess because we have big fancy bikes we'll pay big fancy prices too! For that price it better change my oil, give me a back rub, rock me to sleep and pay my hotel bill.

I have them on two of my bikes. I love them. I also replaced the bars with Flanders bars and have the KY weight end caps. No problem with vibration.

+1 yep, just what I was thinking. but with a baby in the car it was unintentional or didn't see him or miss judged distance. Some drivers are clueless and only care about themselves on the road.
