  1. VueScan has been around for sometime. Good code. One of the few affordable scanning application that will do true color calibration. If you do any amount of scanning go with the professional version. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it supports my new Epson V600 photo. It will bring "new life" to your old scanner as it will maximize the scanning features as SilvrT stated.
  2. Ya'll coming to Texas for BBQ? And to one of the best BBQ's in the state. BBQ @ Lexington can only mean Snows BBQ But get there early, cause like he says they are open from 8AM till the meat runs out which is usually by 10am.
  3. Keep the medication in the original labeled containers. Also, before hand work with your Dr to see how prescriptions can be filled over here. Just sayin
  4. Now that's just plain wrong. A 2001 with 6,100 miles. Tsk tsk tsk..
  5. They have been discontinued. No longer available.
  6. I did not have any problems viewing the pictures on the photobucket site. But then again I'm running Norton AV 360 and never had any problems with any spyware, malware, virus, worms, crickets, bots, bugs, spiders, alligators, Trojans, romans nor illegal aliens.
  7. Dang! She's cute!
  8. I don't think it's a real good deal. I've purchased my life time updates for less from other Garmin GPS vendors. I figure the life of any GPS unit is less than 5 years. How often do you need to update? It takes at least two years to build a new road unless you like to keep current where the latest ATM locations.
  9. I have done the following to increase the lighting on the back on my bike: 1) http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3768 (Harley Davidson License Plate Rail and Light Kit) 2) http://www.customdynamics.com/Yamaha_tail_retro.htm (100 LED Genesis II LED Tail Light) 3) http://www.signaldynamics.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=91&category_id=22&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=77 (this is the red one) http://signaldynamics.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=90&category_id=22&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=77 (this the red LED with the clear lens) 4) http://www.diamondraccessories.com/ LED Rail Light Bar
  10. I appreciate the information. Would you have a link to that report where I can read more about it. Thank you.
  11. But will it have cruise? I'm about to drop the hammer on a 2010 Concurs14. I think it's the most tech-advanced bike available TODAY. Waiting to see if the 2011s will have cruise. Dealer show is in Vegas next week. I'll be keeping the Venture (it's for the wife).
  12. All joking aside. It's really not all that bad considering what it can save you from. I have a close friend, just turned 50. Just had his first "look-see" and they did find colon cancer. Additional tests showed he also had liver cancer and some lymph nodes. Diagnosed him as stage 4 because of the multiple sites. He had several rounds of preoperative chemo. The surgery removed part of his colon and part of his liver. He is doing post operative chemo. Things are looking good for him at the moment. Needless to say he's glad he had it done when he did instead of waiting. Don't mean to lecture but it kinda hits home when a friend goes thru it.
  13. I'm using the 10" ASUS now. I love it and I got it specifically for the motorcycle when I travel. I use it for email, editing / storing roadtrip pictures. My GPS mapping software to load /edit / change routes. I have the 6 cell battery that will last 7 hours and it does. It does not come with a CD/DVD drive so either copy the CD/DVD to a large flash drive or get an external USB CD/DVD drive. Does everything I need or want it to do on the road. And for $199 if lost or stolen I won't have heart failure. ps. I'm watching the grandkids tonite and using my daughters wireless
  14. As a kid I used to kayak thru there. My high school senior class picnic was held there. My niece just bought a house in Evans City. I worked in Evans City as a diesel mechanic 40 years ago. Thanks for the flash back memories.
  15. Awesome man, just awesome.
  16. That reminds me. Awhile ago I pull up to a gas pump riding two-up with my wife on the back. Put my foot down, slip in some greasy stuff, my foot goes out from under me, the bike goes over, but in slow motion. We had the headsets on and I said we are going over to hold on. No sooner had this happened and this lady comes walking over to me and asked for directions! Just like this is the way we are suppose to be, both of us over on our side. I told her where to turn, she left, my wifes asks "can we get up now"? Strangest thing ever. I still don't think the lady had a clue.
  17. Is that an under statement. We drove from WV into PA this summer. I was annoyed to see the speed limit drop from 70 to 55. After just a couple of miles I found out why! The roads are so dang bad you can't drive any faster and still dodge the holes, cracks, missing pavement without tearing up your vehicle. Come next election you folks need to fire somebody.
  18. I have Russell day longs on two of my bikes. It is the only custom seat I will ever own. They install "leaf springs" in the seat wings for folks over like 225lbs. They require measurements and two photos of you on the bike and passenger if they are building the rear also. Expensive - around $770 (leather) for mine. But after you spend $300-500 on several other custom seats till you get one that works it is money saved. I'm well nourished at 6' and 235lbs and had them install the "leaf springs". I can ride 700 miles a day after day.
  19. Your call Tom. I'm retired, I can go anytime. Except the 18th & 19th I have to watch the grandkids while the women attend my middle daughters baby shower and again the next day when they go to a crafts show. Actually, just got back to riding again myself. I broke my tail bone back in May and it's still a little tender for long hours in the saddle. Did the Hill Country weekend before last (700 miles) rode thru Blanco on the way home and didn't do too bad. Grabbed a late lunch Riley's BBQ. I want to check out your new ride too!
  20. Not sure if I'd categorize it as a "two up" (read baby boomer) touring bike. Maybe by European standards. Looks like they are matching it to the BMW RT/1300. It also shows that if they WANT TO they can put technology to work in their bikes.
  21. I needed a bigger bike for two-up riding with my wife. I waited for two years for Yamaha to release a "new" Venture. Then decided to get a new Kawasaki Voyager when they announced it. Went to a bike show just to see the prototype model. Then they delayed the Voyager for a year. I was missing out on some good riding time and I'm not getting any younger so I bought a used Venture for less than half of what a new one would of cost. Very happy with it. Now I could care less if/when they come out with a "new" Venture. But I ain't gona pay $20 grand for an "out dated" bike. Yamaha keeps jacking the price up on the Venture to keep pace with the other touring class bikes but sorely lacks the technology of the competition. Slowly Yamaha is loosing their loyal customer base as their value statement keeps diminishing and falling behind the rest. I still believe a used Venture at less than half price of a new one is a good deal. But I'd look other then Yamaha for a new touring bike. just saying...
  22. What timing! Wife's at work, I'm in the den on the computer with the volume cranked way up "I be jamin with Springsteen". Hope no one comes to the door nor calls 'cause I can't hear it and I ain't answering anyway. This is my time.
  23. Definitely a "bucket list" ride. But where's the Bear's tooth? We found it, but must admit the pull off isn't the greatest. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Montana%202%202009/IMG_1740.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Montana%202%202009/IMG_1739.jpg
  24. I run ME 880's on two of my bikes (medium & heavy cruiser) and never had a problem. I haven't found a more durable long lasting load-carrying replacement tire. Not wanting to open a debate here, just saying, for me they work.
  25. Anyone know are they driving, riding or trailing?
