Texas Hill Country Ride
aharbi replied to GaryZ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I believe this is the kit he used. I carry three types of tire repair kits. I have had several flats on the road but never been left stranded (all my bikes have tubless tires). I carry the Stop & Go Tire Plugger, Slime kit w/compressor, String Tire Plug kit (works the best in most situations) And for good measure I carry a high end bicycle hand pump that takes both CO2 and manual hand pumping. In my experience the CO2 cartridges are a waste. You need 6-8 of them to inflate a tire, most go empty by the time you either insert or screw them into the "handle". Best is the 12VDC mini-compressor that comes with the Slime kit. Just saying... -

I own four riding jackets. When I go on an extended trips this is the only jacket I wear. The best jacket I've owned. It is a 3 season jacket, waterproof, zipout quilted liner. Three Quarter Length The Tourmaster Epic. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Montana%203%202009/100_0946.jpg

Me too. RoadRunner & Motorcycle Consumer News. Ride Texas is getting too expensive and too "harley heavy", I dropped them.

I use a 10" netbook. got it last year at black friday sale for less than $200. with a seven hour battery it lasts a day or two till next charge. And at $200 I won't have heart failure if dropped/stolen like a $500+ ipad or notebook. I have all my mapping/GPS, picture/video, topo, email, browser software. I only use it for the bike. Does everything I need it too, also mp3 music files.

Never saw that before. Didn't know they had them. So, to steer them do you have to counter-steer? I would assume the laws of physics would remain the same regardless of size.

+1 Time to contact the district YAMAHA manager. They will make it right. Get it out of the dealer's hands and to another dealer as per the district manager. Time to get another set of hands to work on it. Sounds like they are guessing at the problem and not (or can't) diagnose the problem. Not right that you lose money on a new bike with a 5 year warranty.

I'd like one as well. I don't do paypal. PM me your address to send check to. Thanks

Actually the opposite is true, most synthetics say they go for between 8,000 - 10,000 miles. However, I run synthetic and still change between 4,000 - 5,000.- 17 replies

Here's a picture of my backside with some of the above mentioned parts all put together. (it also helps that the bike is white) http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/IMG_0999a.jpg -

you so bad. Royal Enfield basic design is 1930's, redone in the 50's when moved from England to India. Just got disk brakes and FI (on certain models) a few years ago. Good news is anyone can fix them with duct tape and bailing wire.

I have no idea how fast it will go. Don't know if I even want to try. I did have it to 85mph once with a pick up truck up my $ss getting around a row of 18 wheelers and I still had some throttle left.

I used it for awhile as part of a SW package. Everytime I found what looked like something there was an additional charge, or upgrade or something they wanted more money for. I gave it up.

Wal Mart Super Tech Moly
aharbi replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
+1 I use the same. I buy it from the Honda CAR dealer. $10 for a 3oz cardboard tube. H/C 2963866 Never could find anything (good or bad) on Wal Mart Super Tech products. Have no idea who makes them, who the Wal Mart supplier is, so I don't use them. -
VueScan has been around for sometime. Good code. One of the few affordable scanning application that will do true color calibration. If you do any amount of scanning go with the professional version. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it supports my new Epson V600 photo. It will bring "new life" to your old scanner as it will maximize the scanning features as SilvrT stated.

Keep the medication in the original labeled containers. Also, before hand work with your Dr to see how prescriptions can be filled over here. Just sayin -
