I have the Plus offering at $60 per year, 5GB per week upload or 250GB per year. I have uploaded 1hr 30min HD video and a 41 min video quite successfully. But thats over kill as who wants to see that long of a video of riding or your vacation unless your making a full feature movie :-) Five GB per week is plenty for me (thats a ton of 3-4 minute videos). I have uploaded video that does not do well streaming over the internet, way too big biterate. Stutters when played back with anything less than a 5mb internet connection. The average US home connection is 3.9mb. This is why I mentioned biterate and provided the link. Videoarizona provided the link to signup with Vimeo. And yes Youtube is free but clips your video down to 30 frames and biterate (video quality) to less than half. For home use - from your PC via HDMI to your TV biterate is not a problem. Record at the highest settings for the best playback quality. But you won't be sending it over the internet :-) It just depends on what streaming video quality your happy with. Videoarizona is a good resource as he has professional experience with digital video. He helped me get started understanding and editing video. Believe me it can get deep quick :-)

Sorry for the delayed response I've been on vacation. Yes it is held on with the 3M adhesive. Ensure you have a flat or curve that fits the mount. Clean with alcohol wipe, warm to room temp, heat the 3M adhesive with a hairdryer. Let sit over night (12 hrs). I doubt it will come loose. Some folks use a 6-8 inch steel fishing leader as a tether to the helmet just it case. To remove the mount from the 3M adhesive you have to saw back and forth thru it with cheap dental floss. See my previous post in the video section on detailed pictures how I mounted it.

Small world. I just left there. The first two pictures were taken just north of the town of Arcadia. We stay at a place at the bottom of the hill! Was at "the dunes" also, watched the grandkids climb (run) all the way to the bottom, take a quick dip in the lake and climb back up. Took them over an hour round trip. Didja eat any cherries? We also had a successful charter fishing trip (3 salmon, 15 lake trout) out of Manistee. Love Michigan in the summer :-)

Don't mean to be a wet blanket, I too have a Photobucket account. It's OK for linking pictures on the forums and thru email. Although even if you are a paying subscriber they bomb you with spam advertising. And to be honest they clip the h3ll out of your video so it looks worse than on Youtube. Why get a half decent video camera when they clip it so much it looks like it was taken by a $12 camera from China. I still have my Photobucket account but I also have a Vimeo account for my video, much much better and they don't clip your video. However, You need to understand 720 vs 1080 (or better), the difference in data rates, the difference in frame rates, the difference in audio quality which I always set to the lowest as I'm on a bike - not concert hall to save on data rate. Now back to Photobucket: Video limits 500 MB or less, and 10 minutes or less Supported Video file types: Videos – 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, avi, divx, flv, gif, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpeg, mpg, m4v, wmv All video files are converted to .mp4 format when you upload them. I also had a terrible time attempting to upload video to Photobucket. It took forever and failed most of the time. You'd be best to use Video codec H.264 for streaming (on the internet) HERE is a great site that does a good job explaining it all. My helmet cam setup. I'll run one camera or the other camera. It's just this helmet has the smoothest mounting surfaces. It took some finesse with the Gopro mounting to get the correct recording angle. The front of the helmet has too sharp of an angle to hold the adhesive mount, had to move it to the side. When it cools off I'll post a video. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P7067591r.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P7067597r.jpg I'm some what new to this myself, only 6 months. I just bought one of these Git2 as a helmet cam. It also has all the features for a dash cam, loop recording, G sensor, power on recording start/stop. On sale ebay was $106, retail $159

The right side was already "taken" with mounting the Contours+2 camera on the right. I hadn't seen one mounted on the left side either. I got the idea from viewing the motorvlogging sites.

I'm so so jealous. The Isle of Man (TT) race to watch is on my bucket list.

Mounted my new action cam on my helmet. I'll run one camera or the other camera. It's just this helmet has the smoothest mounting surfaces. It took some finesse with the Gopro mounting to get the correct recording angle. The front of the helmet has too sharp of an angle to hold the adhesive mount, had to move it to the side. When it cools off a bit I'll post a test video. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P7067591r.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P7067596r.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P7067597r.jpg

Not to change the subject but have you looked at the Triumph Trophy SE? I own one after seriously considering an FJR. Also ran Concours and BMW-RT.

Did mine several years ago. Got the lines from http://www.buckeyeperformance.com Couldn't be happier. I have the Flanders bars and he gave me the correct lengths. 5 lines in all was like $350. plus a discount If you mention... dang don't remember... if you're an ISRA member or a member of this forum or something. Don't recall for sure but it was like $80 buck discount. Anyway, rubber lines are to be replaced every few years. Word of caution when you replace with SS lines it's now like having power brakes so be careful the first few stops. Just looked at the bike, must include the clutch line too.

I have to agree with you on the aging part. I don't tolerate the heat as well either. Being in the dry heat (AZ) you might try an evaporative cool vest. They work better in drier climates like "out west", not so much in the gulf states where the humidity is much higher. I have the one with the zip off sleeves but leave the sleeves on when really hot out. Lot of skin that can aid in cooling on your arms. I wear mine under a mesh riding jacket. Some vests claim the inside liner keeps you dry from the vest - it's a lie. Heck you submerge the thing in a sink full of water for it absorb as much as it can, the special fiber swells and can hold like a zillion times it's size/weight with water. It's gonna get wet! I can't ride in the Texas summer heat without it. Yea it's wet when you put it on but you forget about it in a few minutes. Mine will last about 4hrs, I carry a BIG zip-lock bag to put it in and "recharge" it with clean/pure bottled water, drinking fountain, mens room sink. (Reason I say this is a riding buddy recharged his at a gulf course sprinkler, only to find they used "brown" water :-( I usually charge (resoak) it once during an all day ride. I've had to take it off in the evening as it got too cool. They run about $80. I have several. I also have one that uses the "little beads" that swell with water, they do last longer. But it's kinda like wearing an old kapok life vest. I also wear my helmet, it's like wearing a styrofoam cooler, the hottest it's gonna get is 98.6 not the 104°+ like the outside air. I also wear a large bandana around my neck. I don't soak it but suppose I could but it would dry out within 10 minutes, but because summer mesh riding jackets DO NOT have collars! and you can sunburn you neck! The night before I put two bottles of water in the freezer and one in the fridge. I put all three in and insulated soft lunch bag. I wrap a washcloth around one of the frozen bottles (great for wiping off your face) I also carry a washcloth in the mesh riding jacket pocket for the same reason, they work way better than a handkerchief. As the bottled water thaws I have cold water to drink all day long. But I must say my favorite chill-down drink is a rootbeer float. And there ain't any little town in Texas without a DQ! http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/IMG_0275.jpg

Question for the more experienced riders out there.
aharbi replied to GAWildKat's topic in Watering Hole
Yep, what I do too -
I guess it depends for how long. I would want to check and see if its the tire I ordered, date of manufacture on the tire, and check for any defects. Most places have a limited time to return the item.

Glad you left your mark on his new truck. Glad you were able to walk away. Too many times the rider is down due to the stupid actions of the cager who just drves off. Need pics of the bike.

Over the years I have had various riding gear. What I have now fits ALL my riding needs. 4 full face helmets with 10 extra faceshields (always carry a smoked and clear with spare kept in old tube sock), 4 riding jackets, 3 riding (over) pants, 2 pair kevlar riding jeans (Sliders), 5 pair winter riding gloves (3 are waterproof, 1 pair heated) 1 pair winter glove liner, 14 pair riding gloves (2 are waterproof) 1 fleece lined motley tube (cold weather, can be worn 3, 4 different ways) 1 schampa fleece balaclava (also cold weather), 2 fleece pullovers (Cabela's) always have one on bike, 3 evaporative cooling vest (1 is short sleeve), 4 Silky comfort helmet) liner (keeps my helmets from smelling like my boots), 4 pair riding boots (2 are waterproof, 1 with Thinsulate), 1 polypropylene long underwear, 2 pair wolverine wool socks, 2 pair silk liner socks, 6 pair of seamless riding shorts, 1 pair Frogg Toggs (for that all day in the rain ride ps. they melt when touched to hot exhaust pipe). Tobe honest didn't know for sure what I had till I started this note. Heavy leather riding jacket. I bought this in northern Michigan a few years ago. Just couldn't pass up a great deal on it. Traditional looking - has the flap that snaps over the zipper. Came with leather balaclava that snaps inside below the neck, snap in quilt liner, sleeve vents, chest vents, 2 rear vents, all with waterproof zippers. Have ridden in 22°F with no problems. Three season 3/4 length Tourmaster riding jacket with armor and riding pants with armor. Both have quilted zip-out linings. The pants have huge zip-off panels leaving a mesh riding pant. The jacket has one huge horizontal vent (shoulder to shoulder) across the back. The front has 6 zippered vents, 2 sleeves, 4 chest. Has a velcro flap in the front to cover the zipper. Both are waterproof. This is my long distance gear for fall, winter, early spring. JoeRocket jacket (Epic?) (can't find label on it) with riding pants. Both with armor (pads really). Both have zip-off outer shells making them mesh riding gear. Both also have zip-out quilt and zip-out waterproof liners. I haven't used the waterproof liners in years. They are non-breathable and leave you soaked in your own perspiration if left in for any length of time. JoeRocket Phoenix 4 mesh jacket with armor and zip-out waterproof/warm wind breaker liner. My main jacket for summer riding and on really hot days I put it on over my evaporative cool vests. My summer riding pant is Sliders (kevlar lined) but still warmer then jeans as the kevlar doesn't breathe much.

Its been years but I got mine free from the Harley dealer. They had 3 or 4 sets of OEM Harley pipes waiting tobe discarded. I think I slipped the guy $10 for them. Don' t remember the name of them but they are slash cut.

RR afraid I'd have to agree with ya. They've done 3 or 4 tires for me in the past with no problems, First time for the Venture rear tire. Going to check myself with my manual HF MC tire balancer.

Shorter "Bagger style" windscreen vs full wind screen on RSV
aharbi replied to Road_couch's topic in Watering Hole
Shorty beat me up so bad when I drove the bike home. PO gave me the OEM which I put on before the bike had a chance to cool. Since I have installed a full (but wider) Clearview which I have to see thru, not over. Very happy with it. -
The Dunlop E3 came in, had it mounted and balanced. Deflated, rotated and rebalanced. He chose the tire position that required the least weight. Mercy! Have you ever seen so many weights? Think I'm going back to the Avon Venom X http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/image.jpg3.jpg BOTH SIDES YET! http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/image.jpg1_3.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/image.jpg2_1.jpg Dang WTF!

It's unfortunate that Windows 10 keeps getting bad press. In all actuality it's a pretty good operating system. In my opinion probably their best release to date. Yeah it looks different and things have moved around the screen a bit. Take 20 minutes and view some of the free tutorials to lean where things are. I've never had a hang, a blue screen of death, a program that just "goes away" along with all my hard work. Don't believe what you read in the press about Windows 10 made to scare you, remember the press is more for entertainment and to sell their sponsors pop-up in your face while reading their page ads then anything remotely having a grain of truth. Security options are in plain sight selectable from the settings menu. And there are loads of web pages dedicated to how/what these settings do. If you ever ran Windows ME, Vista, XP (it took years and years to get it right) or even Windows 8, (Windows 7 not so much) you will appreciate the stability and functions in 10. Too much depends upon the public (you and me) for the success of Windows 10 for them todo something underhanded and stupid. Try Windows 10, you'll like it. If not move to a non-Windows platform, you DO have other options. Chromebook doesn't use Windows, Linux is still very active and aggressively being developed. Linux runs most of the worlds servers, just about all the cell towers, most "smart" devices, cable TV's DVRs, routers, modems and the foundation for Android development. It's all open source code so no one can hide any secret spy code and steal your identity. It's lean and runs fast even on old hardware Windows 10 no longer supports (runs on). And then there is Apple, expensive but nothing but quality. Apple devices like other Apple devices and play well together. I like Apple iPhones and iPads. We have 5 such devices in our house. I can either text, email, surf on my iPhone or my iPad and they share calendars, notes, pictures, email, text msg between them. It doesn't matter which one I have in my hand. Although these 65yr old eyes like the larger screen of the iPad. For Christmas I got my wife (who is loosing her eyesight) an iPad pro (huge 12.9inch 2732×2048 screen for a tablet) with keyboard and Apple pencil. With the A9X chip 128GB memory and that ultra rez display it is probably the most capable computer in the house. It doesn't run Windows. You have a whole slew of Android tablets, Samsung makes some pretty nice ones. Add a Bluetooth keyboard and you have a decent work platform that will do 90% of your computer needs. Just sayin'

I know nothing about trikes. However, that bike in excellent condition (bluebook) is $5,000 and a trike kit at least another $5,000. So minimum would be $10,000. I would ask $15,000 and see what offers you get.

Thanks folks for the replies. Cowpuc, yes two different bikes I have gone back and labeled the pictures. The Venture is our two-up bike and I don't want to take any chances with my wife on the back. Special thanks to Prairehammer, you put the issue to rest. Thanks so much. What I was told by the store manager just didn't "feel right" to me although I never heard of it before, I know now and shan't fall for it in the future. Love this site, love the people, love the willingness to help each other.

I've been riding for some time now. I've changed my share of motorcycle tires over the years. But something came up I've never encountered before and now has me questioning it. I need a rear tire for my 2004 Venture. Think I've tried every brand except the E3 so thought I'd give it a try hearing good reports from a recent maintenance day I attended. (NOTE: THIS IS NOT A DEBATE ON WHAT TIRE TO USE). Removed the rear wheel and took it down to have the tire mounted and balanced. Well they didn't have it for whatever excuse they made up. But they did have a brand in stock I have used in the past with good results. Date stamp was 4515, 6 months old 74S rated would of liked a little higher but acceptable. So I take it home to put it back on the bike and notice this: (remember this is going on my 2004 Venture) The following picture is a Metzeler ME880 (TUBE TYPE) mounted on my 2004 Yamaha Royal Star Venture. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P5267582.jpg Did they sell me and mount a tire that needs a tube for my tubeless rim? Strange? I check ALL the tires on all my bikes, even the front of the Venture. They are all stamped TUBELESS. (I refuse to buy a road bike that is not Tubeless) I ever checked the rear of my V-Star with the same brand of tire, make of tire, even same size rear rim, it is stamped: TUBELESS The following picture is of a Metzeler ME880 (TUBELESS) mounted on my 2005 V-Star 1100 Classic http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/P5287587.jpg So I call down to the motorcycle shop and say they mounted the wrong tire, they transfer me to the Store Manager who says "it's the same tire as a Tubeless, they are all the same and If I insisted on ordering the E3 (which I did) it will have the same stamp. Really? Not from what I'm seeing. So my question to this team is: are they all the same No difference between TUBETYPE and TUBELESS?
