Thanks to everyone. I almost bit on this one. I had never heard of the scam. It was good.

A potential buyer for my bike wants a history report. Like a carfax. No problem. I find several sites that will create the report. Here is the twist. When I enter my vin# the report is created but they all say that my engine size is a 1600cc as opposed to the 1294cc. 2006 Midnight Venture XVZ13TF Am I missing something??

So a potential buyer for my bike wants to see a history report. Like a carfax report. I tell him, ok I will find one and send it to him. I find several places that will create the report, but, here is the twist. Every report that I look at, after I enter my VIN #, claims that my engine is a 1600 cc as opposed to the 1294 cc it is supposed to be. Am I missing something??? 2006 Midnight Venture XVZ13TFMV

In my humble opinion...Ride-On is the only way to go. It saved my life a couple of years ago. A box of nails had fallen out of the back of a truck that I was following on the freeway. They spread all over the lane and I could not avoid them. By the time I could get over and get stopped, it was about a mile later. I had picked up three nails. I pulled them out, like the instructions said, and rode the rest of the way home, about 10 miles. When I got home I checked my air pressure and had only lost 5 pounds in the rear and 3 pounds in the front. Ride-on will always be in my tires!!!!

Left on side of road AGAIN

I have had the Mr Gasket for over a year with absolutely no problems. Note that when you turn on the key you will not hear the clicking. Instead you will only hear a little hum. It will not fit directly in place of the oem pump. Mine is just laying in the space where the pump goes. Again, zero problems from this pump. -
Why does the Strat burn through tires so bad? What makes it so different?

Has anyone tried or even thought about relocating the rear speakers? My wife is on the hefty size and she blocks the speakers quite a bit, making it not good for her. I was thinking, maybe, putting them in the top of the saddlebags. Any feedback is appreciated.

That was a great trip. I felt like I was there with you. One question though. Where did you get your windshield bags? Mike

Battery question
texasrices replied to fixit3546's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I am looking for a new battery for my 2006 Midnight Venture. It looks like the replacement is an ETX20L. Why does Autozone carry a Duralast Gold but only has a 3 month warranty, while Oreilly has a Super Start for a 1 year warranty? All of the specs are identical. What am I missing? -
I am pretty sure that someone here has installed the Kendra Kruz and/or Shinko rear tires on their rides. How are they working out? Pros and cons would be appreciated. Would you recommend them? I have been using Avons but I am looking for a substitute. The cheap price makes me wonder. You know...you get what you pay for. Thanks for any and all feedback.

My rear shock needing to be replaced. Is it possible to re-build these? Spending $400.00 or more for a new one is a little steep right now.

I have the Midnight Venture 2006 with what I am sure is an original windshield. I want to install windshield bags directly onto the windshield. What do I need to know before I start this project. I certainly do not want to have to buy a new windshield because I did something stupid.

I went to start my bike today and I didn't hear the normal clicking of the fuel pump. After trying again several times I took off the side panel and tapped on the pump. That didn't change anything. All I hear is a little clunk. After reading several threads I'm thinking that it might be a nasty fuel filter that needs changed out. (I don't know if the previous owner ever did that.) Does that sound about right, or is my pump gone bad? Is everyone still recommending the Mr Gasket 42S, if I need to replace the pump? Thanks

That is GREAT!!!! Come on Texas. We can do it too!!
