  1. This also gives your some more space and time, just in case they do not see you soon enough, you can accel a little and still have an out.
  2. You may or may not see this - but if you get hungry on yoru way thruogh Lubbock - give me a call!
  3. :clap2: Thanks a lot!!!
  4. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that: Oh, and I wear a High-viz jacket (so does my passenger), have headlamp + Passing-lamps, 32LED tail-lamp with 15" light-bar mounted between helmet holders and always always always always drive like everyone is going to cut me off, pull out in front of me, run me over, and/or cannot see me. I always make sure I have a 'way out' of any situation - and if I find myself in some setup that I do not, then I get there as quickly as possible. NEVER drive tired, distracted or inebriated. Etc... Most of all, I try to plan on taking the safest routes to places (where I know there will be lots of traffic) My methods are far from perfect, but I have not had an incident with another vehicle for the 10 years I've been riding When the day comes that I do have an incident; I pray that I'll be on 1-up and that I can walk away from it NOTE: Picture 1 was right after sunset, Picture 2 was about noon - note that it is still reflective.
  5. Let us know when they come in
  6. :thumbsup2: That's pretty cool. I know that I took advantage of anytime my family offered to take me for a ride... or were around with their bikes - all through growing up (several of my uncles and my grandfather) and I certainly enjoyed each and every one of them. That being said, much of my love for riding has grown because of those rides - even the 'quick' ones
  7. Glad to hear you've got a reasonable representative on your side of this I suppose that there is a slight possibility you having some issues by discussing the details of your conversations on this open forum. But, unless it was explicitly stated at some point that ya'll were having a privileged conversation or that YOU were being dishonest in anyway to the service manager, Yamaha or whatever. On the other hand, keeping everything under your hat until a resolution is reached probably couldn't hurt. So, I guess I could stop being nosy...
  8. I certainly understand them wanting the bike to be worked on, by them, since they do not seem to be playing the 'you touched it so it is not Yamaha's problem' card, and who knows - maybe the dealer actually cares about trying to make this right. I did not even think about the insurance/liability issue there. They ought to and probably do have some blanket insurance coverage for a situation like yours; especially if the dealership owns a trailer that is used for hauling bikes. But, It will be interesting to see what they say about it. When does your insurance go back on? -- It would be a shame to miss out on some good riding weeks due to them monkeying around with this business... but I guess if you can get a reasonable solution, then it would be worth it.
  9. Hehe. Sounds like if you hold out long enough, they might do this and it won't cost you a dime! Unfortunately it has already cost you some time...
  10. Glad everything went well... Make sure she doesn't try to rush anything with the recovery, and of course, stick to that physical therapy schedule. I hope her recovery is complete
  11. If you would like to be added or removed from this list - let me know via posting to this thread and I will do my best to stay on top of it. Thank you KiteSquid for taking care of this up to this point, what a terrific idea!! I hope this can keep going and continue to help people out. KiteSquid's original text, with rules (slightly adjusted in a few places for clarity and redundancy): There is three copies of Ride Like a Pro (RLAP) IV or V DVD's that are free for anybody who wants it. FREE, but they have to agree NOT to copy it, and to pass it along for FREE to the next person after a short viewing session.... maybe two weeks???? The sender pays the postage, NOT the recipient, so no money changes hands, this I think will keep it all legal!! To request to be put on this list, please post to this thread and you will be put on in order posted on my next visit to the thread. Please DO NOT PM me as you will only be put on the list if you post to this thread... My apologies if you got missed, just let me know and I will put you in the appropriate place. PLEASE Remember to post something you learned from the video. And again, I am not connected with RLAP, I just want my fellow bikers to have a long and healthy life on two wheels and anyway that we all can learn to ride safely is a good thing!!!!!! By the way, if you are tired of waiting, or would like to purchase your own copy please click HERE to order and be sure to ask for your Venture Rider Forum member discount. IIRC it saves you $5. BTW this DVD is worth every penny!!!!!!! The List: People who originally, freely gave away their copy of RLAP IV or V (Thanks a lot you guys!!) MOST IMPORTANTLY: 8) Ride safe **** Sample message to next person: Howdy: I have received a copy of "Ride Like a Pro" and you are the next on the list to receive it. (According to the list on: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/sh...=24973&page=20 ) If you could let me know either way (whether you are still interested in viewing it or not) that would be appreciated. I will wait about a week before I contact the next person on the list. If someone else commits to it before you do (after the 1 week) then you will not lose your place on the list, but may not get it from me ~depending on whether I still have it or not. Just post in the thread (linked to above) that you would still like to view it and you can be next in line to get a copy. If you do want it, let me know and send me the address that you would like it sent to. I will send it first class mail when I am done with it (probably a week or so). Thanks a lot, - YOUR NAME HERE *******END sample message Thanks ya'll.
  12. Where are you in Texas?
  13. If Forrest approves that works for me. If someone else would like a can, I would be okay for just 2 (but won't argue with 3 if no one else speaks up). And I'd be happy to meet you wherever (of course, I'll have the cash); I will be around for the next couple of weeks. We can iron out the details if we get Forrest's approval
  14. Let me/us know when you get it and we can work out the details I've been watching it too - and buying in bulk looks like the way to go.
  15. Sounds good Thanks a lot!
  16. For the record, THIS *points to self* 2nd gen rider will have no trouble seeing your license plates (even if you do whiz by). These 24 year old eyes still do okay
  17. I am PUMPED. The mornings are starting to get a little brisk on my legs here Out of pure curiosity, how much time are you going to give folks to get back to you before you move on to the next one? Especially since you posted a few weeks ago requesting confirmation that people were still interested.
  18. Although if someone donated a vehicle to me and the right water depth below... I might do that for fun
