  1. Crud, I thought that's what the kool-aid was for
  2. The following image is a screenshot of what worked for me, getting the weather deal in the signature. Note that ALL of the text that I present here: http://weathersticker.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetempbig/language/www/US/FL/West_Palm_Beach.gif Is included in the 'edit signature box' only. not anywhere else. Clicking that, then save will get it to work. I am sorry that you are having so much trouble with this. Alternatively you can do as Skid has suggested. That works fine as well.
  3. Right. This is exactly why the list was divided to begin with. To minimize the number of border-crossings that need to occur.
  4. It works fine for me. It appears that you are not pasting all of the text that I put there for you. You need to include the
  5. Paste the link in the box that allows you write text (ignore the two options that you listed), where I have shown in the picture. Hope that helps.
  6. Okay, I have confirmed. Just paste ALL of the following in the signature box: http://weathersticker.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetempbig/language/www/US/FL/West_Palm_Beach.gif That ought to do it (it worked for me anyways).
  7. I am pretty sure all you should need to do is paste that whole string in, as written... but Give me a few minutes to mess with it and confirm (unless someone else jumps in first)...
  8. http://weathersticker.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetempbig/language/www/US/FL/West_Palm_Beach.gif Give this a try
  9. So there is likely an extra character somewhere, or whatever. Go ahead and paste the URL that you are trying to use in a post, uncheck the box at the bottom of the post page that says "automatically parse links in text" so we can see what the actual code is that you are trying to use. Then we can help troubleshoot the code to get you going.
  10. :clap2: I mean, c'mon now... be nice
  11. Good luck with that!! Although, I thought that's what kids were for... Staying up late fixing stuff around the house so the parental-units can sleep. Well... that is what my dad used to tell me anyways I certainly learned a thing or two about furnaces, sump-pumps, etc...
  12. Nope, they've been twins through all of their production. Here is the latest for the 99-current model (near the same as the 96-97 model; and also close to the one that they made in the mid 80s. +1 to checking out the VLX600 - not much bigger/heavier at all. Extreemly low C.G. If it is her ride, does it matter what you want?
  13. Thanks Tom. I was one of the people thinking that it WAS a one time deal... I will be sending you a PM shortly
  14. Where is the main 30A fuse? What kinds of Air Horns work well with the bike & installation of What should I use to put air in the suspension? How should I wire up my Passing/Driving Lamps (or other power accessories)? (ie. using a relay) What are good products to clean the windshield? Venting the windshield? How can I/what can I use to lift my motorcycle off the ground?
  15. :clap2::thumbsup2: Nice job
  16. Yes, most likely. A quick way to check is to look under the trunk at the black box that is up there. Find the cables that come out of the box. Follow the one that goes to the antenna. If the cable that comes out of the black box (the CB box) goes to the antenna with the load (black thing in the middle) then it is fine. According to the dealer assembly instructions, these bikes are supposed to be setup with the CB antenna on the clutch side and the radio antenna on the brake side.
  17. Mine sure does; but only when I am on it. The plate that you are asking about, I was told by a fellow member, is there to keep gas spillage from draining down on the cylinder head. I suspect it also would keep water from collecting too (when on the sidestand). I have seen many of our bikes with that plate on the right (wrong) side of the bike too - where it serves ABSOLUTELY NO purpose what-so-ever. This, incidentally, is how I found out what that silly plate is for (mine was on the wrong side). As others have said now, I doubt it will do you any harm by taking it off... As long as you keep your gas in the tank.
  18. Some of us are far too familiar with such situations. You, your family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. Gdspeed. - Rick
  19. Hey hey not for EVERYONE. We are not due for more snow for a while yet. We got our dusting a few days ago, now we'll be back up in the 40-60s No rush here, so another day won't hurt too much
  20. :sign woo hoo: Congrats!! I'll tell you what, the more I see that color scheme the more I like it Definitely check the antenna wire routing; as Bummer said they are backwards. There are a couple of good articles about 'things to do' with the new bike. ie. checking anntennae, loc-tite-ing bolts, etc. Again, congrats and enjoy!! :thumbsup2: P.S. now that you have a picture, we believe you
  21. Yea, oddly enough we are not an 'open carry' state though... I'd like to figure THAT one out Haha - NO KIDDING
  22. I had the same thought. If I only had the cash... I wouldn't mind a 5 year warranty and a 0 mile new to me bike
  23. +1 to following the instructions. Mine says it right on the label. "Charging instructions ... blah blah blah" You also would want to double check to make sure that the charge is necessary. As SilverT stated, some come 'fully charged'. So in the instructions there may be instructions as to what to do to determine whether a charge is necessary or not.
  24. Thanks for sharing!! At least, when it happened to YOU, you were in the privacy of your own shed and not in a public place like... Oh say an intersection or a gas station. But, like sylvester implied. That has NEVER happened to any other than you...
  25. What year is your bike? I presume since you say your warranty runs out in 2010 thatyour bike is either an 05 or an 06. I believe that there is a service/technical bulletin on some of the bikes that the heads were not torqued properly at the factory and had potentially caused coolant/oil leakage... I may be wrong on the years for this, but I'm sure someone will chime in. To answer your question, the only thing that cause this to be something the warranty wouldn't cover is if there is reasonable believe (and proof) that you neglected something on the bike that caused the problem. So, hopefully they make it right and you have your bike back reasonably quickly Good luck!!
