  1. If you have trouble downloading them directly from the library, your other option would be to rip the CD onto your computer, then put it on the MP3 player. To keep it legal, just delete the file before you return the 'book' to the library. But, like others have said, there is likely a way to do it. I have done it a few times and it worked just fine. I travel a lot for work so I pass a lot of time in airports and on planes when I am just too tired to work, just put on the 'ol headphones and crank 'er up.
  2. Speaking of knock offs... Honda's GL1100 Goldwing with the full fairing, bells and whistles were out before the first 1st gen. So I think that speaks for itself.
  3. You know, I would have thought being able to ride all year would keep these kinds of projects to a minimum for you! I know it sure does for me. If my bike sat in the garage without me being able to ride it, I would be ichin' to do all sorts of stuff. Some necessary, some not, just for the sake of doing something with the bike(s). Enjoy though!
  4. Good luck friend!!
  5. Maybe I shouldn't respond to this since I have not personally experienced it BUT someone will sure correct if I am wrong. So since I have my disclaimer in here is my thought: I suspect that it is a factor of heat only (that is the fuel, upon residing in the tank heats up - ie. expands then under the pressure works its way out the vent hose, condenses and hence puddles under the bike). Since the vent on the fuel tank (is where I presume the leakage comes from) is on the RIGHT side of the tank if the leakage was caused by overfilling and leaning the bike over then your trike would 'leak' before someone's bike on a side-stand would. This does not occur (very often) on an un-modded tank because of the 'extra' air space that is left in the fuel tank as is. Under intense heat, the fuel expands but there is enough air space that there is not a significant amount of leakage under these conditions. Just a thought though.
  6. Nah... Just stick with the dremel and a cutting wheel. But make sure you use a candle to peek inside first. KIDDING... of course. Otherwise one might lose all of their hair
  7. Aha. Good to know. I had forgotten about the filter in the tank (I knew about the fuel filter in the system, of course). Thanks! I might need to buzz out and pick up a punch and some wax paper now
  8. VERY NICE. I think I might just have to do the same. I like the extra light. You may want to consider going with an LED board for your tail light as well. They are a little spendy, but VERY VERY visible in the day time (as well as at night). I think I got mine for ~50 (after shipping). And the company guarantees them for life (so long as you still own it). I'll keep an eye out for those bag rails... I've been looking for a pair (for the extra protection... and the looks of course) but just haven't been able to justify the ~150-200 for OEM stuff.
  9. Rick: I was thinking the same thing - especially from reading the initial thread on this (a ways back) until 'Travelin Man' 's comment [below] I find myself needing to switch to reserve around 160 or so when I am doing all 'around town' type driving and closer to 175ish when I'm out for a real ride. So this has me intrigued. My only real concern about this process is how to get all of the 'extra' metal out of the tank so it doesn't go through the fuel system after you do the mod. Maybe someone could provide some insight on that...
  10. Well, I had to look really hard at first to find them - but I bet they REALLY jump out when you hit the brakes and also I'm sure they really stand out at night. I do like them next to the brake light like that though. Now I'm going to have to stop in at a truck stop next time I am out to find something similar By the way the green combo IS the fastest and best looking out there (but maybe I am a little biased...) By the way, where did you find the saddlebag rails for $81 ?! Thanks for sharing your idea
  11. NO KIDDING... I really enjoy working on my own vehicles and especially when things go smoothly like they are supposed to... even getting the screws out of the reservoir covers (that were damaged by the mechanic that changed my tire trying to do me a favor... Long story, but it ends with I now have a jack and no one will be touching my scoot without me around again) backed out with an easy out just like they are supposed to work. anyhoot, now I've got to get a decent 'check ride' in... Just for good measure
  12. That was a cute welcome mat you had there... (NICE trailer too, by the way).
  13. :clap2: Terrific. I'm sure you made that man very very happy And it sounds like he'll be able to take care of it too.
  14. Sounds like a great ride/day! It was in the 60s here today too - but I spent the day in the garage and doing stuff around the house that I have been putting off for waaaay too long.
  15. Got it all taken care of today. I have some pictures, but since it isn't any thing too exciting I will not post them. A big thanks to Skydoc_17 (Earl) for the help It was a pretty straight forward process although a little time consuming due to how dirty my calipers and pistons were. But, got-r-done and am happy with the results.
  16. B u M p
  17. Yup yup. Oh yea, don't forget the check made out to "cash" sent to me, PM me for my address Seriously though, glad you are okay.
  18. Gotcha. Thanks a lot
  19. I think I'm just a total D.A. What is the trick to turning this thing off? Also, It seems that I had to set the Tachometer to the "02" option, which the instruction claims to be the setting for "one fire per revolution" - which I thought I had remembered these things fire twice per revolution. Is this what others had to do too?
  20. :thumbsup2:
  21. Well, this is my 3rd 'winter' here and I'm still much happier with the couple days of cold/snow/ice. I can manage the July/August heat to put up with 1 week of winter instead of 5 months of winter. In fact today as I was walking into my office, I was thinking boy it sure is cold out but quickly reminded myself that I just got off the bike and it is February, so
  22. Alright! Looks like you had some great weather today Much better than the crap I had today that won't clear out until the weekend. The high today and for the next two days is only ~ 1.5 C and cloudy. (But this only happens a few times a year here) It only stops me from riding when we get rain/snow around these temps though... Glad you got a good ride in
  23. There was a game last night? Wow, I guess that shows how tuned into things I am...
  24. So sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you, your family, his family, and all of your close friends. Gdspeed.
  25. Wow!! Thanks for being so generous to us :happy34: Good for you though, Make some money on the deal while you can!!
