I know i'm going to catch some crap for this but...
LilBeaver replied to elmicko's topic in Watering Hole
FLB_78 had, at some point, his 99 for sale for a reasonable price. He's got a few miles on it but last I saw it the bike ran fine and was in decent condition for the miles. He is not far north of you in Kentucky now. For the right price, I'll deliver my 01 to you -
It sounds to me like someone splattered brake fluid on your parts... But I'd need closely examine pictures to actually verify that suspicion. Regardless - I'm glad you got it taken care of!

You don't really give us a whole lot of information here to help you out. All I can do is sort of answer your question. The highway/passing/auxillary lamps are not covered under the 5 year unlimited mileage deal; HOWEVER, if they are the OEM lamps purchased and installed via an official Yamaha dealer they DO have a warranty (parts, labor, etc). Check you paperwork and see. Or, you could give us a little more info to go on and we can probably help

Yikes. Something else I just thought of is that we have a handful of members here that have recently triked their bikes. They don't need their side-stand anymore. You may want to try contacting a few of them to see if they still have theirs
-
Welcome!!!!! :BLUE: And +1 to what the heck happened to your side stand?!?

Hair Question for the Ladies
LilBeaver replied to GolfVenture's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Of the ladies that have ridden with me, they seem to prefer braids. -
Good info here. Thanks!! I've been watching for them to go on sale and haven't seen it happen yet - you beat me to it

Not me BUT, then again, I still haven't forked over the money for one of those fancy pants analog to digital converter boxes either... I am a big fan of watching the cosmic microwave background radiation It is better than anything else on the tube anyways.

If you are going to do it yourself, somewhere on here are the dimensions for the Carbon_One adapter GOOD LUCK! -

LoL *insert witty remark about 'ol reliable*. These pictures were taken the night I got the lift adapter (or jack) I don't remember which. But either way, you are sort of correct... As of these shots, this is the first time my bike was lifted by me. What they look like now...well, that is a completely different story! Arg. Time for bed. -
Lift for 2008 Venture

Since the wheel needs to come off for this operation, no. I have had my rear wheel off a few times, but it was just as easy put the legs on, jack the bike up enough for the wheel to be removed from under the fender, then lower back down onto the legs for stow-age. -

http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2673&title=carbon-one-freestanding-lift-adapter&cat=7 This is the way to go. Larry (Carbon_One) makes these himself, and they are very high quality. My only regret about mine is that I didn't buy one sooner. He also makes a model without the legs for a little bit less, but for changing the oil I have found that it is much easier to be able to remove the jack. Not to mention it is much more stable on four legs than it is on the jack. Do it. -
I too found that mine wear evenly. I actually will periodically pull mine off and measure them for differences (using a vernier caliper) - just out of curiosity. Any difference for mine has always been within the error of my measurements.
