I tend to agree with that, but still -- all of the training I have been through I cringed when I saw him being dragged out by his leg. Again, not knowing all of the facts and whatnot, it is hard to say one way or the other. Again, regardless, I am glad that he is doing reasonably well and that people didn't stand by and do nothing. Good to know that there are actually some decent people still out there.

Actually, after reading your post again - have you checked for ample fuel flow with the petcock in the "ON" position? It sounds like all is fine when it is in "reserve". Verifying flow through the "ON" position might be something to look into. If you have it all apart, popping that off and cleaning it might be a good thing to do. For a couple of bucks, it may be worth changing out the fuel filter again - especially if you suspect a partially clogged line or contaminants in the fuel. I believe the MicroGuard 33011 universal at O'Reilly Auto Parts is a reasonable non OEM replacement. -

Is this your 07 RSV? I know that you said you ran seafoam through it but have you actually pulled the carbs off to take a look and clean as appropriate? It will take a couple of hours but it really is not a bad job at all. I would also go ahead and check to make sure it is running on all 4. The 'finger-tip' test would work for that. Since you have the tank off you can easily check the resistance of the caps to see if you have a potential problem there too. The orifices in the carbs are unbelievably tiny and it does not take much for them to get gunked up so chances are good that you are due for a cleaning anyways. Now that I have been through the process once (thanks to goose) I wish I would have pulled my carbs long LONG ago when I had suspicions about my bike not running all that well. I certainly won't hesitate to do it again. It sounds like you have your issues pinned down reasonably well so I don't know that I can be of much more help. Something else that may contribute to an intermittant running rough would be poor electrical connections somewhere (I doubt this is it, based on your description). The places that I routinely check and find loose connections are the main ground connections and the main fuse connection. The main fuse connection has a tendency to collect some corrosion and cause some intermittent issues here and there. Again, I doubt this is your problem but I figured I would throw it out there as it is an easy thing to check while you have it all torn down. If you do want some more help troubleshooting some more information about your problem might be helpful. -
Hey, come on now, he was wearing pants!

It doesn't make any difference - I was just harassing you . That and others were 'nit-picking' about the video so I thought I might too. I do not mean to make light of the situation, it is absolutely terrible that this crash occurred REGARDLESS of who is at fault. The fact that the motorcyclist is doing as well as he is, well, that is really something! For the record it is extraordinarily dangerous to move anyone that has been in a wreck without ensuring proper alignment of the head/spinal chord. I am not going to critique the actions of the folks in this video because I do not know all of the facts and we could play the 'what if' game forever.

If you have a vacuum bleeder, it wouldn't hurt to pull the fresh fluid all the way through the system - just to make sure you get all of the crud out.

Looks like a BMW to me.

Very valid point. I suppose I keep on eye on the resale value and what the market is doing because I like to make sure I am prepared for the worst. While my bike IS my primary mode of trasnportation, I do still have a truck. If financial hardships hit and stuff needs to start moving, frankly, my bike is one of my highest valued possessions that I consider to not be a necessity. Sadly, that means it will be one of the first to find its way to the market, if need be. I do not PLAN on doing that, but if need be, I wouldn't hesitate.

I don't see a citation here One might suggest that one is much more likely to be safe from being trapped inside a building during an earth quake if they are not inside a building.

http://planetsmilies.net/vomit-smiley-9529.gif Well, maybe that is just me :stickpoke: --- I have a music player that never runs out of batteries, can hold a reasonable amount of music, can be controlled by the handlebar mounted control and is integrated into the audio system. Yup, you guessed it. The cassette deck - I still use mine. When I want to listen to something else I just use the Aux plug. I think Yamaha did a great job engineering this well rounded setup. They allow for folks to choose between the radio, cassette, CD AND whatever the heck else you want to plug in. And even include a 12V power port right up front. I still do not understand why people have such a problem with having MORE options. An 'iPod' dock would tick me right off as it could ONLY be used with an 'iPod' instead of this AUX port that can be used with ANYTHING that has an audio out. Anyhoo, I know this is one of those never ending discussions. Regardless, I am happy that the value of my bike will not plummet this year - any more than standard depreciation would do to it anyways.

Oh, I guess I may have jumped the gun.

One option is that your pressure plate is not seated properly. Another is that you may have some extra parts in there... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52454 Check out post #14

You may need to hold "control" and push "F5" at the same time to force your browser to clear the cache. They are up there. Looks like the 2012 is a midnight, with no flames. Oh and it comes with an iPod. Yuk.

Well I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We actually had a blast of 'cool'(er-ish) air on Sunday and Monday so I took advantage of it on Monday and boogied on out for a ride. My friend has been continually getting better and has made a handful of short trips on her bike (ie. grocery store, fabric store, etc) and felt like it was time for a decent ride. We met up around 10 and took off for a moderate spin around. Starting off it was a bit cool (compared to normal) but boy did it feel great. Temps were in the upper 50s or low 60s when we started and mid 70s when we finished. Other than the ridiculous wind, it was beautiful out. We only rode ~170 miles but it was nice. I made a point to stop a few times to make sure she was doing alright. and around 100 miles into it she did say she was starting to get a little sore. So we took a few minutes for her to rest then rode another ~50 where we took an ice cream break and ended up chatting for upwards of 1-2 hours (I didn't really keep track of time). We then rode back to her place and chatted again for another half hour or hour or so. Some about bikes and some about other stuff. She asked about tires and other PM type things she should be worrying about (her rear is almost down to the wear bars). All in all it was a great day, great ride and good company. I was home by about 5.

To focus on your question: Comments like this can be misleading but so are comments that say you can completely ignore a current or voltage rating. The fact of the matter is one really ought to stay tuned to ALL of the ratings. Some applications are much more sensitive than others. From a pure fundamental electrical standpoint, matching the voltage and current rating listed on the device with what the charger states is optimal, and yes, somewhere on each you'll see something that give some indication of what the ratings are on both the phone AND the charger. HOWEVER, from a practical standpoint, as TX2Sturgis pointed out (), there may be a bit more to the actual charger than the pure electrical ratings; be it an integrated logic circuit, the s.m.a.r.t. monitoring technology, or what have you. I will spare the lecture unless someone really wants to hear a more complete explanation. Since everyone else is offering their opinions here... In my opinion, your best bet would be to READ the manual or the charger package and see if LG lists both phones on the charger package as being compatible. If so, then your old one is fine. If not then spend the 15-20 bucks on the recommended (and brand name) new charger to keep from voiding the warranty on your brand new $600 phone. I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night nor did I receive any special 'training' to sell phones or whatever so maybe I am really not as qualified to respond as others here may be... I do, however, have a Masters degree in Physics and am nearly finished with my P.hD [in Physics]. Some of the classes that I have taught include [college level] electricity and magnetism courses. My current research is in solid state/condensed matter/semiconductor physics.

I have a set of the barron slash cuts (or whatever they are called) that I put on occasionally and I personally don't think they are THAT loud. Yes, on long rides I find them mildly annoying, but I have found that I will only have to turn the radio up 2 or 3 numbers higher than 'normal'. I know we all perceive sound and whatnot differently, but I just figured I would throw that out there. -
Glad to see you like it!! I know I had similar notions with mine. Very apprehensive at first but have been extraordinarily happy ever since I put it on. My only complaint with them is that it is harder for the passenger to comfortably sit close and hold on tight... One of them finds a way to do it anyways so all is not totally lost

Very cool! Looks like a good time, other than the day of wet roads... Thanks for sharing! Lets see, here is my 'sturgis' picture... http://www.phys.ttu.edu/%7Epmengyan/TTUPhysPage_files/Personal/NewZealand/New_20Zealand_20_28In_20and_20around_20Nelson_29/index196.htmlhttp://www.phys.ttu.edu/%7Epmengyan/TTUPhysPage_files/Personal/NewZealand/New_20Zealand_20_28In_20and_20around_20Nelson_29/index196.html http://www.phys.ttu.edu/%7Epmengyan/TTUPhysPage_files/Personal/NewZealand/New_20Zealand_20_28In_20and_20around_20Nelson_29/img196.jpg Well at least where I was instead of Sturgis.

As far as getting some sight-seeing/exploring in with my travels, I did manage a little bit in New Zealand and am working on a photo album that I can put up a link for. In England, this last trip I did manage to stay a few extra days and putter around quite a bit. I am working on a photo album for that trip too. I'll post some links when I get it done. I ALWAYS do.
