  1. My guess would have to be Canadian tariffs? Yes, I'm asking. I don't have a clue.
  2. I understand U.S. / Canada. My point was look what you're getting. Last year I bought my 'S' model for 17,100. The Wing, Comfort/Audio model was 17,700 in Columbia, SC. An as well appointed Harley thousands more than that and those pr_ _ _s wouldn't even talk to me when I was out shopping. I'm sorry, but I have nothing but disdain for Harley. (not the bike, the company in general). IMO they are in no way competitive.
  3. I guess I'm looking in the wrong places: http://www.motorcycle.com/gallery/gallery.php/d/154211-2/IMG_3916.jpg?g2_GALLERYSID=TMP_SESSION_ID_DI_NOISSES_PMT http://www.kawasaki.com/includesmain/getpreview.aspx?maxw=216&img=%7E/CMS/Products/DetailView/5303d0ef-38cb-4e39-a885-f930a9b46f25.jpg MSRP 17,300 http://www.starmotorcycles.com/assets/content/images/600/09ST_RSVen_CRd_S4_c25c72bf.jpg18,200 the "S" model is 500 more.
  4. I thought the workers owned Harley Davidson. Not that it matters, all these large corporations are the same. When times are good they invest in lavish parties and corporate jets and when things go a little south they don't have enough reserve to cover it. I'm just saying. I feel for the workers that rely on this factory for a living, but I also believe that we/US have no business bailing out any more corporations. Sink or swim. There are always others out there that will fill the gap and probably be more competitive.
  5. The brand of car tire and tread patterns may also have something to do with our handling. I have the Kumho, but others have had BFG and Nexxen and I don't know - the biggest complaints seem to go with the Kumho. Am I wrong on this observation? Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't trade my Kumho for nothin' save another car tire and since dumping the OEM Dunlop front for the Pirelli I have no issues that I can't live with.
  6. Sure coulda been a lot worster! Glad all worked out for you'ns.
  7. L I V I N G is G O O D ! Happy for ya!
  8. That's what I'm here for!
  9. Is THIS what you're talking about?
  10. Don't know - - - as I am certainly still experimenting, but I am convinced since losing the OEM Dunlop and putting the Pirelli up front I am experiencing little or no wobble. I rode 240 miles from SLC, after front tire change, with the wife on the back and could not get a wobble at any speed. I have not had enough opportunity since, to verify as much as a solo rider. We shall see.
  11. What did u have on the front. I'm beginning to think from my own experience that this has a great deal to do with the wobble? Thanks.
  12. OK, I reduce the air in rear shocks to 25lbs, all other stats are as previously reported. Got her up to 95 mph solo and could not tell if I really had a wobble or not. If I did it had to be very slight. Bad weather rolling in for this weekend so it may be a couple of more weeks before I can give a more definitive report. I must say, the Pirelli is doing a super job.
  13. I guess I'll get one of those spike pieces like you put on helmets and glue that to my head. Mike the Walmart is actually 37 miles away in Vernal, UT. We stay at the Flaming Gorge Lodge and work at the dam, 6 miles north of the lodge. If you are a fisherman this is the place to be, but it for sure sucks if you're living here. Here's a photo from the top of the dam. I think we were running pipe for some security cameras. I call this the low side: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_xOOWRVc9-a4/S9UQoImMFDI/AAAAAAAABh8/nIedNO0Re50/s640/0318001359.jpg The high side: Makes a great desktop background. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_xOOWRVc9-a4/S9UQoWIO6mI/AAAAAAAABiA/wKxNx2YARHw/s640/0324001522.jpg
  14. This winter I'll be getting some spiked tires.
  15. "And Wanderer, I've been checking out some of your Google albums,, where are you now?" Currently in Flaming Gorge (Dutch John, UT). Looks like around May 10th I'll be heading south to Montrose, Co.
  16. Just for me, you guys could act like it's not 80 degrees outside. Oh well I don't care. I still get out. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_xOOWRVc9-a4/S9TOZhAtl1I/AAAAAAAABhQ/lNgpY6VEVbo/s640/SAM_0104.JPG
  17. Hey this is a family site. We've all heard "that" wobble story before. :rotf:
  18. Glad you're O.K. Don't think would have been different with M/T. Before when I hit a deer (front and rear M/T) I had a heck of a wobble which I thought sure I was not going to recover, but I did.
  19. They look nice, but I'm pretty happy with what I have.
  20. I've been using Linux for 10 years and I disagree with the statement "MOST of us ... HAVE TO." The fact is "MOST of US" use our personal computers for email and internet - that's pretty much it. The real truth is "MOST of US" fear what we don't understand. Not being confrontational, just an opinion. Try PCLinuxO/S - no need to install you can run it Live from your CD PS: In 10 years I've yet to get spy ware or virus.
  21. And they continue to use Microsoft and Windows:think:
  22. Welcome. My Kumho is doing me right! I wish you as much success.
  23. 2009 RSV Mileage: 12060 Rear Shock Pressure: 30 Front Shock Pressure: 5 Front Tire: Pirelli MT66Route 150/80B-16 - Rear Tire mounted reverse Date code: 3709 Max pressure: 42 Set pressure: 40 Rear Tire: Kumho Powerstar 758 165/80R-15 Max pressure: 44 Set pressure: 40 Hands free test at 75mph: no wobble (had wobble with OEM Dunlop) Accelerate from 70 to 90 on hill curving to left with 10 degree rise test: No wobble - 2 up 90mph straight road test - 2 up no wobble (would have been faster, but rapidly succeeding head slaps from the pillion were giving me a headache) Hope to test again tomorrow, solo.
  24. The pillow top is the finest seat I have ever sat. The wife and I have no discomfort riding day long trips of up, with her, 700 miles. As I stated before I have also done the Bun Burner 1K with no discomfort. However; as Rick pointed out every one's a$$ is a little different.
  25. Actually I feel bad. I said I wouldn't use anything else and I had the beads when I got the car tire, but because I had it mounted by someone else and then I had to move I didn't get the beads in, but from previous experience I guarantee you it makes it faster.
