  1. I have a stock seat and a Butler mod seat. Try a seat pad from Wal mart for $20. they are ln the auto department next to the seat covers. It can work for the drivers seat or passenger. I have tried many different seat makers and Russell it the best seat you can get because they make the seat to fit YOU.... not another companys idea of what you want in a seat. Cb
  2. Just east of E/S on the same highway. (62) a little more than a hour away. I have a complete work shop, trailer and 40,000 miles of local back road riding . Can help most anytime, Chuck Newman 870 656 2986

  4. Hi, I live in Mountain Home, Ar (north/middle) of the state. One hour from where you will be staying. I have done about 30,000 miles backroad riding here and if you have questions about riding the northern part of the state let me know. I you plan a day on a lake there is Lake Norfork 1/3 mile from my house. If you want to know about roads south of St. Louis I have family in Chicago and Rockford and have traveled them a number of times. One thing I will say about riding these roads... with the wtist and turn on back roads you will only travel about 30 to 40 miles in a hour's time. If you need anything I have a workshop and cycle trailer if needed. Cb
  5. Sunday morning between 5 am and noon. Most big cities are slow that time of day....but there are crazy people out ALL the time. Cb

  7. This is how I trailer my just. Just finished a 1000 trip, 500 miles to Chicago, No problem on a trailer. I am disabiled and can no longer ride for LONG periods of time so I trailer the bike then ride. It is better to trailer my bike than not ride at all.......... Cb
  8. I have a 2005 Venture Midnight and wanted something to fling around the Northern Arkansas backroads ( paved and dirt). I purchased a 2008 Kaw. Versys for days I want to ride without the weight. Cb
  9. I use it my the gallon, the local farm and feed store sells it. I store 2 boats, 2 riding lawn mowers, weed eater, chains saws, 1 wave runner, 2 cars, 2 motorcycles, 1 generator and have never had a starting problem. YES... I do spend a bit in the fall but I have learned that is pays off in the spring when I want things to start. I thing I have stop doing is filling fuel tanks with enthonal gas for winter storage. Cb
  10. 6 years ago when I first purchased my xm radio I stopped using it because I keep getting the " no single found". I now have 2 bikes with 2 different antennas for my bike. My Venture has a House antenna and my Kaw. Versys has a " motorcycle antenna. I also use the house on my boats instead of the small car antenna. I also have Ipods, a friend of mine who collects music put close to 19,000 songs, old time radio show and books on my latest Ipod. Cb
  11. I have a HJC FS 2 half helmet because it's one of a few that is vented. I use a headset that sellers on Ebay call " behind the head Venture headset or Harley behind the headset" The hetmet has a visor that will not rattle when the snaps get old and a removable liner for cleaning. I HAVE put my liner in the washer to clean without any problems. Price is anywhere from $70 -100. Retail is about $130. ....I think.
  12. I have had a few pairs in my lifetime, you really need the right type of room for those speakers to be at there best. I remeber the first time I played P/F's " Dark Side of the Moon "....... at least I think I remember ???? A friend came over with a record " Machine Head ". I forget the group and just blasted the music , really great speakers. Cb
  13. Sorry I forgot about the lights . They are stock Yamaha Startoliner lights. I traded in my Startoliner for my Venture and had a extra pair of lights. I purchased a Venture light bar and the install spacer to make fairing removel quicker. The wirng for the lights are the same color for installation so the was no problem. From what I have read stock Venture lights are seal beamed and there are not a lot of choses for light bulbs. The Startoliner use stock car bulbs so you can install whatever you want. I installed 2 yellow 5 watt and and 2 white 35 watt Piaas in mine. Cb
  14. Hey Silvr, it took me a number of looks at the photos to see the changes. I am not a big chrome guy but I also like the look of the chrome headlight. Those are my horns under the lights ( jcwhitney $35 each) I wanted my horns in front of my bike, I tried a Stible (?) horn but wanted the horns up front. I made some brackets and just wired into the old horn wires, no extra relay required. Cb
  15. I have Yamaha Stratoliner lights, 2 bulbs in each lamp ( 5 watt yellow and 35 watt PIAA) fit in stock Venture light bar. Cb
  16. I had one a few years ago. I forget what year it was, mine was white. I was living close to Seattle at the time and did a lot of riding in Mount Rainar National Park, not much city riding. Very handy flip up seat trunk, shaft drive, very smooth and comfortable. Some did have radios, mine didn't. I did think of it as a "little Goldwing" I am still surprised that there are few 800cc shaft drive touring bikes for those that don't want a large bike. I would get another P/C but I already have a Venture and Kaw. Versys. A lot of people call it the "tupper wear" bike but wherever you go people always stop and look at it. I would be a great bike for that rider that wants to tour but is unable to handle a large bike. Cb it was a really great bike
  17. Who are you buying from ? If it is Harbar's cycle in Viola, Arkansas I live about 15 miles away and can go get them for you ? I buy a lot of things from and they service my Venture even through there is a Yamaha dealer in town. Cb

  20. I have Piaas in my 1992 GMC Typhoon for 15 years, never a problem, Plus my 92 Volvo, my Venture and Kaw, Versys. It's the first thing I change when I get a different ride. My Typhoon has 120,000 and I do not think I ever replaced the bulbs. It might be time to get a newer generation bulb. Cb
  21. Lowes and home depot sell units like harbor frieght. I have a H/F and works ok. Cb
  22. I THINK I pay for 2 years and save 25 %,( about 58 cents a day.) they also offer a lifetime for somewhere around $500 with 3 free radio changes...not sure through. Cb
  23. If you are sending your seat to B.Bulter ( ? I think) he did my seat that had a rip in about the same place. He did a wonderful job trimming the seat to lower it and working around the rip. You can not tell it is there anymore. Not sure what to say about the missing mounting bolt, I am sure something could be done. cb
  24. This is what I use... you can get complete sets for car and home for almost nothing... I buy complete set or missing part sets on Ebay. You can get a motorcycle antenna from Cycle Gadgets in Arkansas I have 2 bikes, 4 cars and 2 boats wired buying used Ebay stuff. Cb
