  1. I also have asked this question. I am disabled and have 29 inch inseam. With a bad back, 5 shoulder operations and 2 bad knee operations I sometimes ALMOST drop the bike when stopping. I am almost flat-footed but I would really like to lowering the bike to be closer to the ground and flat footed. The only reason I have not done this is I have a toy hauler travel trailer and I am not sure if I will touch when loading the bike ? Please keep me in the loop on your information. Cb
  2. Anyone know where I can get one ? Cb
  3. I am disabled and have 29 inch inseam. I would like to hear from those who have lowered both fr and rr. How is handling and any problems setting the kickstand ? Cb
  4. I just returned from a 3 day out of state trip. About 50 mile from home I needed to use the bathroom real bad. I am driving the back roads into a town the has 3 building...one a convenence store/gas station. When I pull in ( I am in my car) there are 2 BMWs getting gas. After I finish my bathroom break I walk out and talk to the owners. One was a red 2004 RT1150. We starting talking and it was my old RT I purchased new and sold 2 years ago. He was 250 miles from home and I was 50 miles. Isn't it a small world after all........... Cb
  5. I installed a pair of Startoliner driving lights with Piaa bulbs, a extra rear brake light, Sat. radio and a GPS. My stock stator could not recharge my battery so I up graded to the Buckeye upgrade. A local shop did the work for about $125.00 plus I brought the stator. No more problems, so if you plan on adding other stuff like me, go for the stator upgrade. Cb
  6. I am in Arkansas and plan on spending the winter in Floride. I have a 37 foot toy hauler and I am looking for motorcycle friendly campgound to spend 4-5 months in ? I lived in St. Pete back in my beach bum days (70,s) and know things have changed. Anyway.... I do not need to be ON the water but close would be nice....small town preferred. Thanks Cb
  7. My 2005 did not start having battery problems until I started adding stuff.... Sat radio, 2005 Statoliner Driving lights ( 4 bulds), extra large tail light, all light bulbs swapped to Piaa bulbs . My stock stator could not recharge my battery as I was using more power than the stock could give. Problems were a totaly dead battery and not starting after stopping for a rest. I have 2 very good battery changers and things just did not improve. I up-graded to a heavey duty stator. No more problems. Cb
  8. Where are you headed. I live in Mountain Home, Ar. and some roads are great rides and others are THE ONLY ROADS GOING IN THAT DIRECTION. Here in the Nothern central I have riden 16,000 miles on 3 different bikes in 5 years. I hardly have traveled more than 100 miles from home (disabled ). Sometimes I can ride for 2-3 hours and not see a car on the back roads. BUT.... almost ALL the roads up here DOUBLE YELLOW...35-45 MILES PER HOUR . Mostly you travel at about 35 miles because of ..18 wheelers, farm equip., the elderly . It takes about 3 hours to travel 50 miles in any direction from my house. If I can help let me know.... bewhere... it is starting to rain here....7 inches in 3 days and raining today. Cb
  9. If it is the all metal trailer with the ramp I have rented one a few times to transport my 2005 Venture. Plenty of room. Slippery when wet, I weight close to 300 lbs. and at times the bike may hit the bottom of the bike at the ramp edge but nothing ever damaged. Cb
  10. I just went trough the same thing last month except I installed 2006 Statoliner lights on a Venture light bar. NOW... stop right now and find a thread about " light bar mounting " There is a guy here that sells a bracket the exstens the bracket out away from the fairing. Please get this bracket, it will make your life a lot easrier when ever you need to remove the fairing. You can go to Home Depot/Lowe's and get metic hardare. The wiring is all color coded so there should not be any problem there ...good luck Cb
  11. Buy a good small leather belt and wrap it around your seat. I did this on my wave runner so my "guy" friends did not have to hang on to me (hug) !!! Cb
  12. I went to Wal Mart and got a $2.00 bike water bottle bracket and put it on the hand rail for the passenger. Holds a 12-16 bottle with no problems. I just reach behind me and there it is, more water with less sitting on my handle bars. Cb
  13. I have had 5 right shoulder operations and my right hand has always been a problem. California Sports Touring.com sell foam covers that slid over the hand grips. I use Simple Green and a lot of water to get them on. I have used them on a BMW Rt1150, 2006 Stratoliner and my 2005 Venture. I also put them on my wave runner. Some stores call them Hush Puppies ? I also go to Home Depot and get work gloves with padding or gel in the palms. They are a lot cheaper there than a bike shop and more to chose from. Wal mart sell a finger-less glove that is padded the I wear a lot. Cb
  14. Which stator upgrade is the best ? Websites for the stators ? thanks
  15. I have tried twice to install rear brake Hyder lights . When I connect the 2 wires to the brake wires (one to ground the other to the brake wire). When I use the brakes the rear driving light goes out ????? Help..... Cb
  16. I am a new owner of a used 2005 Venture with 4500 miles and have been wondering about oil myself. I have used Moble 1 in my 1992 GMC Typhoon with 115000 miles with oil changes every 5000 miles. I just change oil when the clocks gets to a 5 or a 0. That way i do not have to keep track of any miles. I have also put Molbe 1 in my Volvo, wave runner and even my john Deer. Synk oil may get dirty but rearly will it ever break down. I have on car that needs oil changes every 7500 and I do change that oil a 7500 but still with Moble 1. Cb Mountain Home, Arkansas
