  1. Annie I most certainly will say hi if I get there. cheers Tony.
  2. Hi Annie Yeah, I have given the UC AGM some thought. thing is I'd probably need best part of 4 weeks, go anticlockwise, north from here, across the top end, (might still be wet up there = no go) and by the time I do some ,and come back across nullabor. Well you get the drift. Time would just fly. then there's work commitments etc. Then I could be like , (given that AGM go's for a week), probably do it in 11 or 12 days, not stop to admire anything and be knackered when I get home. And work commitments might still kill it. All that said, I'd still love to go. Tony.
  3. Cool Owen Neat job
  4. Sounds good guys Just let me know M&E in March ?, yeah that'll work. Tony.
  5. Mini I'll do my best now that it's mandatory Squidley Hope you make it here & you know where to get contact info, so look us up.
  6. Spear thats sounds good. Look forward to meeting for a beer, & chat about bikes & life in general. Cheers Tony.
  7. Mike & Cherie That sounds like a plan. Just let me know when. I run a beef cattle operation at present, plenty of space if you'd like to stay a while. Northern NSW 6-7 hours ride from Sydney. Our autumn or spring are best times, also winter is not too bad (on a venture of course). A bit too cold on a naked bike. Summer heat can be a bit oppressive at times. Thats just our small part of the country. cheers Tony.
  8. Firstly I'd like to say thank you Don for the site & making it all possible. From reading here I know I'm not alone in saying that. To all those members who post / have posted to the tech section ( you know who you are) thank you very much as well. I have never had to ask a question about my Venture, because everything I need / want to know about the mc is here somewhere. My apologies for not interacting more on the forum, but am normally a man of few words anyway. Just my nature I guess. Would be great to meet some of you guys for a ride, M&E or something but doubt that will happen without some big changes in situation. (you never know) Thanks again folks Tony.
  9. G'day mate 11ks/L is not too flash. I've got the same '99 bike with 130,000 ks on the clock & get just on 17 ks/L. I thought just last week It's about due for a tune up & might even do a bit better than 17k/L. I do use nothing less than premium fuel, & ultra/ultimate (98 + octane) if it's available. A few cents more but I think worth it. Don't know if these options are available in US, assume so. LilBeaver mentioned the obvious things to check. Let us know how you get on. I too am new to the site & find great info here. Also wondered how far north you are in QLD? I'm northern NSW & don't know of any other venture owners in the area. Good luck with fuel problem Tony
  10. My 1300 '99 model has nearly 130,000 ks (over 80'000 miles) on the clock. I cannot complain. It's quite cumfy on long trips, very reliable & runs smooth. I love it. I don't think you can go too far wrong. Servicing at the regular intervals is the key. Enjoy.
